Nearly 38 years ago, Three Men And A Baby debuted in theaters and instantly became a comedy classic.
The movie was a commercial high point for its stars, Tom Selleck, Ted Dansen and Steve Guttenberg, but its success was also due to the fourth major member of the cast — the eponymous baby.
The child, who is named Mary in the film and is revealed to be the daughter of Dansen's character, was actually played by two young actors, the identical twins Michelle and Lisa Blair.
Michelle and Lisa were just four months old when production on the movie — which was a box office hit and went on to be crowned the most successful film of 1987 — began.
The two have kept a fairly low profile in the decades since appearing in Three Men And A Baby, which was their only acting credit.
But DailyMail.com can now give an update on the one-time film stars decades after they claimed a spot in the limelight.
One of the twin child stars, Michelle, revealed her latest appearance in a recent photo shared to social media.
Michelle, who didn't pursue acting beyond her single film credit, later married Ryan Ontonovich, with whom she shares two children.
In a 2014 appearance on The Today Show, she revealed that she pursued a career in the insurance industry.
Her identical twin sister Lisa has been more private in recent years and has kept a lower public profile.
But the two were still shocking lookalikes when they appeared on television more than a decade ago.
At the time, the twins' mother Geriann Blair revealed that it was nearly a 'fluke' that they became movie stars with Three Men And A Baby.
'I was just bored at home on [maternity] leave and I heard about this casting call,' she explained. 'I thought it was just a scene in a movie, I had no idea it was a big major motion production.'
But she got the phone call of a lifetime just weeks later from Star Trek actor Leonard Nimoy, who directed the hit comedy.
As her daughters were just babies, Geriann was with them every step of the way, which even extended to photoshoots to craft the film's poster from a picture shot by famed photographer Annie Leibovitz.
But Michelle revealed on Today that her and Lisa's proximity to fame didn't affect them strongly.
'When we were little, it wasn't a big deal to us at all,' she shared at the time. 'I think it was when we became teenagers and people started coming up to us a lot more.'
Lisa, who said she worked in customer service at the time, added that fans of Three Men And A Baby started asking for their autographs once they were older.
The identical twins turned out to be pros on set — and gifted improvisers with perfect timing.
Geriann recalled in 2014 that Tom Selleck had been nervous about holding a diaper-free Michelle during the photoshoot for the movie's poster.
'He looked over at me and said, "Is this safe?" And I said, "Oh, I don't know."
'And then, there she goes, sure enough!' she continued, referring to the instantly recognizable wet spot on Selleck's shirt that became a prime part of the movie's advertising campaign. 'So that was a real shock.'
'When we were little, it wasn't a big deal to us at all,' Michelle said in 2014. 'I think it was when we became teenagers and people started coming up to us a lot more.' Lisa added that people started to ask for their autographs
Lisa had her own unexpected bathroom moment, but it ended up saving a scene in danger of failure.
At one point in the movie when she was playing the baby, she had plastic tubing taped to her body to simulate urination.
But when the waterworks failed to go off as planned, Lisa surprised everyone on set by performing right on time.
'Leonard Nimoy looked at me and said, "That's what good actresses do!"' Geriann joked later.
Unfortunately, neither of them have any memories of their moment in the spotlight because of how young they were.
