Moja Love condemns MacG's remarks about Minnie Dlamini

Moja Love television channel (DSTV 157) has strongly criticised controversial podcaster Macgyver 'Macg' Mukwevho's for offensive remarks made about women on a recent episode of his podcast show, Podcast and Chill, despite having no apparent affiliation with him or his podcast. The remarks targeted media personality Minnie Dlamini.
In a recent episode aired on Friday, 25 April 2025, MacG commented on Dlamini's recent breakup from Dr Brian Monaisa.
During the back-and-forth conversation, MacG questioned Dlamini's ability to maintain a relationship. He commented, 'Bro, I'm telling you, man. There's got to be something wrong with her; maybe her coochie smells or something. You know this happens, man; it happens, especially with the hot girls.'
The derogatory remarks have sparked an outrage on social media. As a result, many users demanding the podcast be shut down.
In an official statement by Moja Love, the platform stated that it is committed to fostering a respectful and inclusive environment. Additionally, they refuse to stay silent.
Spokesperson and Media Liaison of MOJA TV Channels (Pty) Ltd, Nonzwakazi Cekete said, 'In addition to being offensive, MacG's constant objectification of women's bodies and reduction to vulgar slurs is a harmful reinforcement of gender-based disrespect.
Moreover, Cekete further stated that such behaviour has no place in society and media specifically, where voices should uplift, not degrade. Not only does misogyny harm the individuals that it targets, but it also feeds a poisonous culture that normalises the dehumanisation of women.
This follows viewers expressing their frustration on one of Moja Love's popular reality shows, 'Isencane Lengane', with many claiming that the show encourages emotional abuse and gender-based violence (GBV) to boost ratings.
Although the popular reality show, currently in its seventh season, has long stirred controversy, the alleged glorification of abuse in its most recent episode, which aired on Sunday, 20 April 2025, has caused a surge of anger and backlash.
The outrage stems from a scene in which Siyacela insults his wife, Thando, and clashes with elders, further enraging viewers.
In response to the backlash, the channel stated in an official statement, 'It is important to mention that the show is a reality show that showcases real-life stories and embraces various cultural aspects of the lives of the main cast. The channel does not condone any acts of violence and/or intimidation.'
Moja Love has affirmed that the media is designed to shape societal norms, and with that comes responsibility. Further, 'To MacG and others who use their platforms carelessly: accountability is not optional. We urge audiences and broadcasters alike to reject sexist vitriol and demand better. Respect isn't a privilege, it's a right.'
While Moja Love has spoken out, Podcast and Chill's stance remains unclear, with no official statement or complaint reported.

Big Zulu gives update on his celebrity soccer tournament and shop

Multi award-winning rapper Big Zulu's celebrity soccer tournament is to move to a bigger venue. Big Zulu, whose real name is Siyabonga Nene, rose to fame after releasing the single Donsa Nkabi in 2016. He signed a record deal with Universal Music in 2015 and released his debut album Ushun Wenkabi and then Ungqongqoshe Wongqongqoshe. It is believed Big Zulu is in talks with the Moses Mabhida Stadium to host his celebrity soccer tournament in July and a source close to him suggests the talks are at an advanced stage. TshisaLIVE contacted the Inkabi Nation founder. 'We were looking at hosting this year's tournament at Moses Mabhida, but the talks haven't been concluded yet. If we get an approval that would be great for us members of the creative arts,' he said. During a recent Podcast and Chill interview with Mac G, Big Zulu alluded that he'll be venturing into the clothing business. 'The plans for opening in September are in place, as it'll be heritage month and that's also what [I'm] excited about, but just looking at getting the best location for my shop so we can get the business up and running,' Big Zulu told TshisaLIVE.
