In a recent interview, Navya Naveli Nanda discussed her close relationship with mother and grandmother while also sharing how they have inspired her.
Navya Naveli Nanda, the granddaughter of Amitabh and Jaya Bachchan, has established herself as an entrepreneur. While Navya has made significant achievements in terms of her career, on the personal front, she hopes to be strong and resilient like her grandmother and mother Shweta Bachchan Nanda. In a recent interview, Navya discussed her close relationship with her mother and grandmother while also sharing how they have inspired her.
In conversation with Elle India, Navya Nanda claimed that Jaya Bachchan and Shweta Bachchan Nanda have taught her how to blend strength and vulnerability. She said, 'Both Mom and Nani have never shied away from being who they are: confident and bold. They embody the kind of woman I would hope to shape into one day."
Moreover, speaking about why she chose a career in business instead of acting, Navya mentioned that she grew up in Delhi and a large part of her childhood was spent watching and listening to her father talk about business, and more specifically, tractors. Therefore, from a very young age, that is what excited her. 'I never wanted to join films; I wanted to be an entrepreneur," Nanda said. On being asked if she feels obligated to live up to her maternal family's legacy of making films, Navya stated that nothing about her background or identity would ever be a burden. In fact, she is really proud to belong where she does.
Navya Naveli Nanda, a Fordham University graduate, is a co-founder of Aara Health, a healthcare platform focused on improving women's health and cleanliness in rural communities. She also hosts the highly successful podcast What The Hell Navya, which has completed two seasons. The podcast brings together the three generations of the Bachchan family to discuss issues concerning women in the present times. In addition to her tremendous accomplishments, Navya recently enrolled in the famous Indian Institute of Management (IIM) Ahmedabad for a Blended Post Graduate Programme in MBA. Navya also leads the NGO Project Naveli and takes an active role in her father's business.
