Teen Idol's Wife Says His Body Is Now ‘Shutting Down' After Cancer Battle

Bobby Sherman's wife has revealed that the former teen idol's body is 'shutting down' as he battles Stage 4 kidney cancer.
In a phone interview with Fox News Digital Wednesday, Brigitte Poublon said Sherman is 'terminally ill' and is now 'at home with special care.'
'He was doing crossword puzzles with me in the last few days. And then all of a sudden Saturday, he turned around and…he's just sleeping more and his body's not working anymore. It's not. Everything's shutting down,' she continued. 'His last words from the hospital last night were, 'Brig, I just want to go home.'
Poublon also confirmed to Fox News Digital that Sherman's cancer has 'spread everywhere.'
On March 25, Poublon announced in a Facebook post that Sherman, 81, was battling cancer.
'As many of you know, Bobby has been retired for some time and is no longer able to participate in cameos, sign autographs, or make appearances,' she wrote. 'It is with a heavy heart that we share Bobby has recently been diagnosed with stage 4 cancer. During this challenging time, we kindly ask for your understanding and respect for our privacy. Thank you so much for still remembering him. We really appreciate it.'
Sherman shot to fame after playing Jeremy Bolt on television series Here Come the Brides, which aired from 1968 to 1970. Along with starring in a handful of TV roles during that decade, Sherman was also widely loved for his music with tracks like 'Little Woman,' 'Easy Come, Easy Go,' and 'Julie, Do Ya Love Me' soaring to top hits.
He later stepped away from acting and music to pursue public service. According to the Los Angeles Times, Sherman was a volunteer paramedic, a technical reserve police officer with the Los Angeles Police Department, and a reserve deputy sheriff with the San Bernardino County Sheriff's Department.
'I think it's important that Bobby realizes the impact he left on the world, the music he left behind, the TV series he left behind, but mostly, too, his love for caring about people, being a paramedic, a cop,' Poublon told Fox News Digital. 'I want to have him realize how many people he really influenced, how he touched lives.'
The couple married in 2010.

Dakota Johnson Says the Failure of 'Madame Web ''Wasn't My Fault'

Dakota Johnson is explaining what went wrong with her 2024 superhero movie Madame Web, which was a notable flop at the box office "I think unfortunately with Madame Web, it started out as something and turned into something else. And I was just sort of along for the ride at that point," Johnson said Johnson, whose latest movie Materialists releases in theaters June 13, was named Worst Performance by the Razzie Awards for her role in Madame WebMore than one year after Dakota Johnson's 2024 superhero movie Madame Web flopped at the box office, the actress is looking back on why the movie didn't work out. 'It wasn't my fault," Johnson, 35, said with a laugh, as she and her Materialists director Celine Song spoke with the Los Angeles Times for an article published Wednesday, June 4. Johnson had been asked whether she was focused on making smaller, indie movies like her new romantic comedy with Song and recent movies like Daddio and Splitsville, which Johnson's company TeaTime Pictures produced. 'There's this thing that happens now where a lot of creative decisions are made by committee. Or made by people who don't have a creative bone in their body," Johnson said of Madame Web. "And it's really hard to make art that way. Or to make something entertaining that way. And I think unfortunately with Madame Web, it started out as something and turned into something else. And I was just sort of along for the ride at that point. But that happens. Bigger-budget movies fail all the time." Johnson starred alongside Sydney Sweeney, Celeste O'Connor, Isabela Merced, Tahar Rahim, Mike Epps, Adam Scott and Emma Roberts in Madame Web, one of Sony Pictures' Spider-Man spinoff movies. The movie follows Johnson's character Cassandra Webb as she gains clairvoyant abilities that allow her to see the future of characters portrayed by Sweeney, O'Connor and Merced. While the film never directly connects to Tom Holland's Spider-Man movies, the characters are closely associated with Spider-Man and Peter Parker in many Marvel comic book stories. Madame Web received negative reviews from critics and audiences alike and won the 2025 Razzie Awards' awards for Worst Picture, Worst Screenplay and Worst Actress for Johnson back in February. Despite all the negative attention the movie received, Johnson did not appear concerned with the long-term impact of Madame Web while speaking with the L.A. Times. 'I don't have a Band-Aid over it,' she said. 'There's no part of me that's like, 'Oh, I'll never do that again' to anything. I've done even tiny movies that didn't do well. Who cares?' In Materialists, Johnson strays far from superhero fare and instead portrays a New York City matchmaker whose love life becomes caught between two men: an ex named John (Chris Evans) who she reconnects with on the same night she meets a new man named Harry (Pedro Pascal). 'I think a lot of what I read these days is void of soul and heart, and [writer-director Song] is all soul and heart," Johnson told the L.A. Times of the movie, when asked why she has not made more romantic comedies. "I really love a rom-com if it feels like I can connect to the people in it. And I think I've found it hard to connect to the people in some of the ones that I've been offered.' Materialists is in theaters June 13. Read the original article on People

The White Lotus was one of the viral hits on the 2025 TV schedule, and after it ended, Saturday Night Live's parody of it has made waves. In the sketch, Sarah Sherman impersonated Aimee Lou Wood, and afterward, Wood reacted to it, calling the sketch 'mean and unfunny.' Now, the comedian has opened up about everything that happened after the sketch aired and shared her thoughts on the actress's reaction. In the weeks since The White Lotus sketch, 'The White Potus,' aired, many have commented on it, including current SNL cast members (more on that later). Now, the comedian who played Wood has been asked about it. During an interview with Vanity Fair, Sarah Sherman reflected on impersonating the Sex Education star, and the discourse that followed, explaining that she didn't want to make anyone 'feel bad:' I was excited to play her because she's so iconic, her character is so iconic, and I fucking obviously never meant to hurt anyone's feelings. Never in a million years did I get into comedy to make anyone upset. I feel terrible that anyone would feel bad. How To Watch SNL And The White Lotus Saturday Night Live will close out Season 50 this Saturday at 11:30 p.m. ET on NBC (or you can stream with a Peacock subscription). You can stream The White Lotus with a Max subscription. Now, it's been reported that Saturday Night Live didn't apologize to Wood directly. However, it was alleged that someone who works on the show did reach out to her. Along with that, The White Lotus actress confirmed Sherman sent her flowers after she called the sketch out. In the weeks since, a few cast members have also commented on what happened and how Wood reacted. In terms of folks who were also in this White Lotus sketch, Chloe Fineman responded to the criticism by saying they make 'stuff with love,' and both she and Sherman 'worship' Amiee Lou Wood. Before that, Bowen Yang shared his thoughts on Wood's reaction, calling it 'completely valid.' He also said this situation was a reminder that 'parody can go too far sometimes' and 'comedians can take account for that.' To that point, Sherman was also asked about working on SNL and if she needs to consider the fact that she could be 'upsetting people' more. In response, she said: Totally. The show is in constant dialogue with culture as it's happening, and it happens really fast. [Long pause] You have to be vigilant, you know what I mean? There are a lot of things out of your control. You're playing a lot of different parts, you're doing a lot of different roles that you're not in control of. A lot of the process of the show has been, to me—how am I answering this? [Pause] Staying vigilant but also being a part of the show—that is your job. Peacock TV: from $7.99 a month/$79.99 a yearTune into the latest hits, including Saturday Night Live, from NBC by subscribing to Peacock TV. Costing as little as $7.99 a month, you can also pay more for Peacock Premium and enjoy ad-free streams and the option to download titles to watch offline Deal In the weeks since the sketch aired, Aimee Lou Wood has been asked about appearing on the NBC mainstay. This happened at the Met Gala right before her co-star Walton Goggins hosted an episode of SNL 50. While she said she likely wouldn't appear in his episode, the door was not closed in terms of future appearances. In fact, she said, being on the sketch comedy show 'would be fun.' Overall, it would seem Aimee Lou Wood is cool with SNL, and Sarah Sherman made it very clear that she thinks the actress is 'iconic' and had no intention of hurting her with her impersonation. Now, maybe someday, the two can share the stage in Studio 8H, since Wood made it clear she wouldn't be opposed to coming on the show.
