Mother Hubbard's, often branded the country's most famous chippy, is offering a limited-time price to mark the opening of a new branch in Coventry.
Customers can enjoy a traditional fish and chips for just 45p when the city centre store opens on June 14.
The exclusive offer pays a special homage to the iconic chippy's history.
Mother Hubbard's first ever store opened in Bradford back in 1972, and has since expanded across the country.
But back when the Bradford chippy opened, the price of a classic fish dinner would sell for 45p.
It's for this reason the store has set its special new offer at that price.
But customers will have to be quick if they want to take advantage of the deal.
The new Coventry store will sell fish and chips at this price just to the first 1,000 customers through its doors on opening day.
It means anyone looking to cash in on the deal will likely have to get to the store as quickly as possible.
The chippy will hold its grand opening on Saturday, June 14 - with doors opening at 11am.
The new Coventry Mother Hubbard's told social media followers: "Exciting news, Coventry!
"Get ready to dive into nostalgia as Mother Hubbard's lands in Coventry!
"Join us on Saturday, June 14, for our grand opening and snag some classic fish and chips for just 45p—the original 1972 price-for the first 1000 guests!
"When: 11am - 11pm. Where: 11-13 The Burges, Coventry CV1 1HH.
"Don't miss this tasty blast from the past! Join us for a celebration filled with delicious bites and the essence of classic English cuisine."
Mother Hubbard's website says: "Fish and Chips are loved by every generation. Are you looking for crispy batter on the tastiest fish, succulent chips & perfect mushy peas?
"Look no further than Mother Hubbard's and indulge in the finest traditional fish and chips in the area.
"The First Mother Hubbard's fish & chips restaurant on Ingleby Road, Bradford, was completed at a cost of £92,000 in 1972.
It was opened on May 3, 1972 by Coronation Street favourites, Stan and Hilda Ogden. At that time, fish and chips were served at just 45p per portion."

Winter fuel payment: Scottish pensioners could be worse off than those in England and Wales after U-turn

Scottish pensioners could be worse off than those in England and Wales after the UK government confirmed its U-turn over the winter fuel payment. The Chancellor announced on Monday the payment, worth up to £300, will be restored to the vast majority of pensioners who previously received it as anyone with an income of under £35,000 a year will now get the payment automatically. Advertisement Hide Ad Advertisement Hide Ad Chancellor Rachel Reeves has given more detail about the UK government's plans for the winter fuel allowance | PA/The Scotsman However, Scotland has already created a devolved benefit of £100 for all pensioner households, which is less generous than the UK government version, potentially leaving hundreds of thousands of Scots worse off than their English and Welsh counterparts. The decision will result in more money being sent to the devolved administration at Holyrood. Scottish Labour has now urged the Government to increase its payments. Rachel Reeves had announced the cut in the first first weeks of the Labour government last summer, prompting an immediate backlash and forcing the Scottish Government to delay the implementation of its own devolved benefit. John Swinney's administration later announced a similar payment for pensioners which would be tapered and see those on the highest incomes receiving £100, compared to £305.10 for those on the least. Advertisement Hide Ad Advertisement Hide Ad Scottish Labour MSP Paul O'Kane urged the SNP to support Scotland's pensioners. He said: 'The winter fuel payment is a devolved payment in Scotland and Scottish Labour has long been clear that we want to see it reinstated for the majority of pensioners up here. But despite their loud spin, the SNP voted against our attempts to do so. 'The SNP must not go ahead with plans that would rob poorer pensioners in order to fund payments for millionaires. 'The SNP must re-examine their own proposals in light of this game-changing announcement, ensure payments reach those most in need, and give a cast-iron guarantee that no struggling Scottish pensioners will be left out of pocket under their plans.' Advertisement Hide Ad Advertisement Hide Ad However, Scotland's Social Justice Secretary Shirley-Anne Somerville said the decision was 'a betrayal' of pensioners. She said: 'I welcome any extension of eligibility by the UK government, but this is a U-turn the Chancellor should have made a long time ago. But there is still no detail about how the Chancellor intends to go about that. Unfortunately, it still sounds as if many pensioners will miss out.' Ms Somerville said the Scottish Government had not been consulted on the decision and urged UK ministers to 'ensure the Scottish Government is fully appraised of the proposed changes as soon as possible'. Social Justice Secretary Shirley-Anne Somerville speaks to MSPs on the Scottish Government's response to the Supreme Court ruling on the definition of a woman under equalities law, in the Scottish Parliament at Holyrood. Picture: Jane Barlow/PA Wire 'The Cabinet Secretary for Finance and Local Government wrote to the Chief Secretary to the Treasury last week to urge the UK government to share its plans with us as quickly as possible, so that we can understand any implications for our own programmes and, crucially, our budget,' she said. Advertisement Hide Ad Advertisement Hide Ad The Scottish Government's plans were initially to provide a universal payment to pensioners, but the proposals were scuppered by the Chancellor's announcement of the cut last summer, forcing ministers to create a different system for this winter. Ms Reeves said the UK government had 'listened to people's concerns' about the decision to limit the payment to the poorest pensioners last winter, and was now able to widen eligibility because Labour had restored 'stability' to the economy. Ministers have insisted no additional government borrowing will be needed to cover the costs of the reversal, prompting warnings of tax rises on the horizon. Those with an income above the £35,000 threshold will also receive the payment, but it will then be reclaimed from them in tax. To be eligible for the winter fuel allowance, a person will need to have reached state pension age by the week starting September 15 this year. Pensioners who do not want to receive the payment will be able to opt out, according to the Treasury. Advertisement Hide Ad Advertisement Hide Ad Writing on social media site X, Paul Johnson of the Institute for Fiscal Studies said: 'The corollary of 'this will not lead to permanent additional borrowing' is that it will lead to permanent additional taxes (or just possibly permanent cuts to other bits of welfare).' No.10 insisted the UK government's manifesto commitment to not raise VAT, income tax or National Insurance remained in place. 'It will be for the Chancellor to set out how this is funded at the Budget', the Prime Minister's official spokesman added. Scottish Greens social security spokesperson Maggie Chapman said: 'There is no doubt that the damage has already been done. Families will have lost loved ones and illnesses will have been caused over the winter months because of the brutal decision by Rachel Reeves and the Labour government. "The reinstatement of the winter fuel payment for some is a welcome move, but we must go further. The Labour government must end the two-child benefit cap. which hits working-class families the hardest, and they must reverse their cruel austerity policies. Advertisement Hide Ad Advertisement Hide Ad 'Poverty isn't inevitable; it's a political policy, a policy which Rachel Reeves has forced upon hundreds of thousands of people across the UK. If Keir Starmer has any shame, he would finally call an end to her disastrous time as Chancellor.' Kemi Badenoch, leader of the Opposition, claimed the Prime Minister had 'scrambled to clear up a mess of his own making'. The Conservative leader said: 'I repeatedly challenged him to reverse his callous decision to withdraw winter fuel payments, and every time Starmer arrogantly dismissed my criticisms. This humiliating U-turn will come as scant comfort to the pensioners forced to choose between heating and eating last winter. 'The Prime Minister should now apologise for his terrible judgment.' Advertisement Hide Ad Advertisement Hide Ad Liberal Democrat Leader Sir Ed Davey said: 'Finally the Chancellor has listened to the Liberal Democrats and the tireless campaigners in realising how disastrous this policy was, but the misery it has caused cannot be overstated. 'Countless pensioners were forced to choose between heating and eating all whilst the Government buried its head in the sand for months on end, ignoring those who were really suffering.

B&M selling 'absolute bargain' as £300 beauty set on offer for £40
The budget retailer has knocked £250 off in its latest deal, and customers are desperate to get their hands on it B&M customers have been left astounded after one shopper revealed a premium product she snapped up for a mere fraction of its original selling price. The budget retailer is known nationwide for offering a wide range of home goods and essentials at wallet-friendly prices. The store regularly refreshes its stock with heavily discounted items, and the latest bargain has set tongues wagging on social media. A whopping £259.01 has been slashed off the price of a hair styling kit, sparking a buzz amongst hundreds online. On the well-followed Facebook group Extreme Couponing and Bargains UK, a user named Kylie Whitaker posted a photo of the Soleil Endless Styling Set spotted at her local B&M. The kit includes straighteners, a curling wand, and a hot styling brush, reports the Liverpool Echo. A shelf label indicated that the set's original recommended retail price was £299, but thanks to B&M's substantial discount, the trio of styling tools is available for just £39.99. Kylie captioned her find: "Not sure if these have been posted before or if they're any good, but reviews online look good! £40 down from £260. Curling tong, straightener and hot brush." It appears that the set is currently an in-store exclusive, as it hasn't made its way onto B&M's website yet. Some of the tools included in the B&M set can be viewed on what appears to be the official Soleil website. According to the site, Soleil's IR Plus Flat Iron"releases a large amount of negative ions, neutralising the positive ions and reducing the amount of frizz and static". Its Styling Comb includes five temperature settings and 'Ionic technology '. After testing the products, Kylie revisited the comments to post her review. "I've tried the styling brush and straightners. Both have temp controls - straighteners up to 230. Honestly both are VERY good," she said. "The straightners outperform my admittedly very old GHD'S. The styling brush impressed me too, I prefer it over the round brush on my Dyson Air Wrap as it's much larger (although likely a lot more damaging). I haven't given the tongs a go yet. It comes with a glove for those, which I think is a thoughtful addition. There's also a warranty included!" She even assured other customers: "To those concerned that they may be fakes, I've just registered the warranty. They def aren't fake." Her feedback quickly prompted a wave of responses in the comments. Donna chimed in with her opinion: "Very definitely not non-brand and an absolute bargain looking at prices in the website." Meanwhile, Sky added: "Bargain! Just wish the plates on the straighteners were slight wider, slimmer ones always rip at my hair." Yet Rachel remained sceptical, posting a screenshot claiming to show the same set available online for £25, and cautioned: "I'm sorry but these aren't a bargain. Always be wary of the RRP on things. The tools do not look like the ones on the real Soleil website." Yet, a different Facebook user named Stevie responded: "That's not soleil's website you've screen shot from. But they're old line Soleil and they would've originally been very expensive given their current straighteners and styling brushes are around £300 each."
