Efforts To Strengthen Religious Institutions Must Remain A Priority
SEREMBAN, June 26 (Bernama) -- The Yang Dipertuan Besar of Negeri Sembilan, Tuanku Muhriz Tuanku Munawir, has ordered that efforts to strengthen religious institutions and enhance the efficiency of Islamic administrative law enforcement in the state must continue to be prioritised.
His Royal Highness stated that religious issues must be referred to religious authorities and should not be interpreted by individuals or groups, as doing so could lead to confusion, tension, and conflict within society.
'I fully support all initiatives aimed at upholding the sovereignty of Islam.
'I believe the Menteri Besar and the state administrative machinery will carry out their responsibilities with determination and dedication to ensure that the agenda of unity among the people of this state is effectively implemented,' His Royal Highness said in the royal address in conjunction with the state-level Maal Hijrah 1447 celebrations at Masjid Negeri here today.
Tunku Ampuan Besar of Negeri Sembilan, Tuanku Aishah Rohani Tengku Besar Mahmud, and their sons, Tunku Besar Seri Menanti Tunku Ali Redhauddin and Tunku Zain Al-'Abidin were also in attendance.
Tuanku Muhriz also stressed that while Islam holds a special position in the country, its sanctity must be upheld without compromising the rights and fairness of the practice of other religions.
The Negeri Sembilan Ruler stated that just as the Hijrah (migration) marked the exaltation of Islam's dignity and civilisation, the society too must embark on its form of migration by striving to improve moral character, sincerity, and diligence in daily life, following Islamic teachings.
'In essence, Hijrah begins within each individual. A renewal of attitude grounded in noble and virtuous values is the foundation for building a more dignified society and a more excellent nation. This emphasis must also begin at home, through religious upbringing, love, and the exemplary conduct of parents,' His Royal Highness said.
Tuanku Muhriz said the transformation process becomes more meaningful when guided by knowledge, as it allows individuals to understand the wisdom behind religious commandments, discern right from wrong, and make wise decisions when choosing the correct path in life.

Fahmi calls on Muslims to begin new chapter with good deeds this Maal Hijrah
KUALA LUMPUR: Muslims in this country need to make the Maal Hijrah celebration a starting point to move towards a better life, said Communications Minister Datuk Fahmi Fadzil. He said the new year also needs to be accompanied by repentance and a resolve to strengthen faith and practice. "Let us turn a new page with a fresh spirit, a clean heart, and the determination to continue contributing to the good of ourselves, our families, the country, and society. "May our every step be always under the protection and blessings of Allah SWT. Happy Maal Hijrah 1447H," he said in a Facebook post last night. This year's Maal Hijrah celebration carries the theme "Membangun Ummah Madani" (Developing a Civilised Society), which emphasises the importance of Muslims taking lessons from the event of Hijrah in building an inclusive and gracious society. The theme also highlights efforts to produce human capital that is not only excellent from a physical perspective but also superior in terms of spirituality and noble values.– BERNAMA
