Chelsea confirm retained list with FOUR stars released including member of victorious Conference League final squad
CHELSEA have announced four players will leave the club when their contracts expire later this month. The Blues finished fourth in the Premier League table and won the Uefa Conference League last season. 3 3 Boss Enzo Maresca is set to get the chequebook out this summer. And four up-and-coming prospects have not made the cut at Stamford Bridge. Promising 22-year-old keeper Lucas Bergstrom has left the club after six seasons. Bergstrom was on the bench for the Blues as they beat Real Betis in last month's Conference League final. But the 6ft9 Finn leaves without making a senior appearance for Chelsea. Eddie Beach, 21, is also among those released. The stopper spent last season on loan at Crawley Town and is a Welsh under-21 international. Fellow goalkeeper Luke Campbell has also been let go, despite having been at the club since the age of 9. And left-back Dylan Williams has left to join Burton Albion following a successful loan last term. A statement from the club read: "Chelsea thanks all four departing players for their contribution during their time with the Blues. "We wish them well for the next chapter in their career." Chelsea have reportedly put up to FOURTEEN of their stars up for sale this summer. Noni Madueke and Joao Felix are among those Maresca wishes to move on, per T he Guardian. Chelsea began the week with a flourish, announcing the capture of Mamadou Sarr from sister club Strasbourg. The French defender, 19, has penned an eight-year contract with the Blues. Sarr impressed in Ligue 1 last term, playing 27 times as Liam Rosenior's side finished seventh. The teenager played alongside fellow Chelsea loanees Andrey Santos and Djordje Petrovic. He has signed in time to be part of Chelsea's squad for the upcoming Club World Cup.

Manchester City, Newcastle United, Crawley Town, Accrington Stanley and Barrow have been reprimanded six times each after being caught trying to con the ref. Football statistician Statman Dave ran the numbers as part of Snickers' wider Off Your Game campaign, with the Deep Diving Audit offering a data-led look at diving across English football. Dave O'Brien, who pored over match footage, referee reports and extensive game insights to reveal all the most dramatic diving data, said: 'Diving has always been a part of the game, but when you look at the numbers, like I've done for Snickers' Deep Diving Audit, it's clear that some clubs and players really know how to keep things interesting. read more in football FRANK DISCUSSION Tottenham AGREE deal to make Thomas Frank new manager after Ange axe 'Whether it's tactical, instinctive, or maybe even hunger-related, one thing is for sure, when players are off their game, it shows. 'And sometimes, it's not just the ball that goes rolling.' Nearly all cases of diving occurred in the second half, with a particular uptick during the 90th minute – and 70 per cent of dives took place in the penalty area. With Brighton & Hove Albion being named as the club players have dived against most in the Premier League. Strikers are responsible for 26 per cent of all dives over the last three seasons, whereas in defence, only one centre-back was carded for a diving offence. Looking at the 2024/25 campaign specifically, 75 per cent of dives occurred when the players' team wasn't winning, with the average dive last season lasting nine seconds. No big deal, right? Sadly for Steve Clarke and this Scotland squad, after Friday's horror show at Hampden, they've made this game have a much greater importance than it should. Despite mixing it with the big boys in the Nations League recently, it does seem strange that we can only attract friendlies against the likes of Iceland and tonight's opponents, Liechtenstein. But what was probably seen as a couple of friendlies to get morale back up after the disaster against Greece last time out, suddenly has led to questions over some of the squad and - in particular - Clarke himself. His goalkeeping crisis hasn't helped and he'll need to find someone to play there later after Cieran Slicker's shocker off the bench on Friday in the 3-1 defeat. Scott McTominay and Kieran Tierney have also pulled out the squad ahead of tonight's game, citing injuries. Clarke's decision to remain loyal with some players - particularly those who can't get a game with English League One sides - has been a thorn in his side this last year or so, where only three wins have been picked up in 13 games. Scotland are short odds to win tonight, naturally. And they'll need to make sure that's shown on the park.
