Sunny and hot again for your Monday
Mostly clear conditions will continue through your Sunday evening with low clouds arriving early Monday morning. There could be some areas of haze or even fog, but mainly in northern and eastern communities as temps start out in the mid 70s.
It will be mostly sunny, hot, and humid Monday afternoon with highs in the low 90s and feels like temperatures near 100 degrees.
This hot, humid, and dry stretch of weather continues through Wednesday with lows in the mid to upper 70s and highs in the lower 90s. In fact, no big changes are in store until Thursday when a weak cold front moves through.
There could be a few showers Thursday with slightly cooler low temperatures to finish the work week. Lows will be in the low 70s with highs around 90 degrees with lower humidity.
Saturday should be mostly sunny and dry with highs in the mid 90s, but isolated showers are back in the forecast next Sunday and Monday afternoon with above average temperatures.

CI Road Trip: Tremont Turkey Festival
TREMONT, Ill. (WMBD) — Chief Meteorologist Chris Yates was in Tremont on Friday for our CI Road Trip. Chris was visiting the Tremont Turkey Festival and was enjoying the food, including the strawberry shortcake. He said he is also looking forward to having a turkey leg. This is the festival's 59th year, with the theme 'Gobble and Groove' honoring the festival's history of live music. Chris talked to Miss Tremont, Ava Proehl, who said her favorite thing about the festival is the community and the businesses. 'I think it's amazing to promote small businesses and look at all the knick-knacky, small things that vendors sell,' Proehl said. The festival will run from June 6 to 8. Tornado confirmed in Wheaton
The Springfield National Weather Service did confirm that an EF-1 tornado touched down at the Body of Christ church on the southwest side of town. The tornado tracked through Wheaton and dissipated a half mile northeast of town. The damage path was a little over 3 miles long and up to 100 yards wide. Winds were estimated to be up to 85 mph.
