Libyan political parties call for inclusive political process
Representatives of several Libyan political parties have expressed a shared and urgent desire to establish an inclusive political process that would lead to national elections and the formation of a unified government.
This came during a meeting hosted on Saturday by the UN Secretary-General's Special Representative, Hanaa Tetteh, with representatives from a number of Libyan political coalitions and parties at the United Nations Support Mission in Libya (UNSMIL) office in Tripoli.
According to a post on the Mission's official Facebook page, the discussions focused on the current political and security situation, particularly the recent events in Tripoli.
Tetteh reiterated that the Mission's priority is to prevent further violence, while also affirming the right of the Libyan people to protest and stressing the need to ensure the safety of demonstrators.
The UN envoy emphasized the importance of advancing a comprehensive political process, grounded in the options recommended by the Advisory Committee and the ongoing consultations with various stakeholders, including the general public.
Tetteh is conducting a series of community meetings across the country as part of her wide-ranging consultations on the executive summary of the Advisory Committee's report, which was released by UNSMIL last Tuesday. Tags: political parties Hanna Tetteh

EU envoy reaffirms full support for UN efforts in Libya

Dbeibah unveils three-track plan to break political deadlock
Prime Minister Abdulhamid Dbeibah has announced a new initiative aimed at ending the country's protracted political crisis, pledging a sweeping restructuring of the government, improved election security, and stronger enforcement of state authority.
