OPEN// Egypt condemns Israel's attack on Iran, warns of its repercussions on regional security, stability

Middle East18 hours ago

CAIRO, June 13 (MENA) - Egypt strongly condemned the military strikes carried out by the Israeli army against Iran on Friday, describing them as a "grave and blatant" escalation, a serious breach of international law and the UN Charter, and a direct threat to both regional and global peace and security.
In an official statement, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Emigration expressed deep concern over the rapidly unfolding developments, strongly denouncing what it called an "unjustified act" that would only exacerbate the crisis, potentially leading to a wider regional conflict with unprecedented consequences for the region's security and stability.
The statement warned that this escalation poses a serious threat to the future and well-being of the region's peoples, and risks plunging the entire Middle East into widespread chaos.
Egypt reaffirmed its long-standing position that military solutions are not sustainable means of resolving regional crises, which, it said, must instead be addressed through peaceful and political solutions, read the statement.
The arrogance of force will not bring lasting security to any country in the region, including Israel, it said, noting that true security can only be achieved through respect for the sovereignty and territorial integrity of states, the pursuit of justice, and the end of the Israeli occupation of Arab territories.
