Germany U21 predicted XI versus England U21

Germany will look to secure top spot in Group B with a win against defending champions England in the under-21 EUROS.
In their first two group games, Germany put in two very convincing displays against Slovenia (3-0 win) and Czechia (4-2 win) and have laid down a statement for their intent in this competition.

Antonio di Salvio has named an unchanged side in the previous two games, and it is likely that he will do it again as they face a tough England side. Germany's squad is a team that is full of Bundesliga experience, with several players regulars for their teams and a large group of them also playing in the upper echelons of the league. It goes to show the wealth of talent this current Germany under-21 side possesses.
The only change will be Max Rosenfelder. The Freiburg centre-back picked up two yellow cards meaning he will be suspended for the final group game.
The standout for the Germany team in this competition has been Nick Woltemade. The Stuttgart striker has been unplayable in the previous two games, with a hat-trick against Slovenia and then a goal and two assists against Czechia. After his breakthrough season at the MHP Arena this season, next season is already set to be a big one for the striker named 'Woltemessi'.
Player to Watch: Nicolo Tresoldi
The Italian-born striker has had a quiet Euros compared to his striker partner. However, the 20-year-old already has a goal and an assist in two games. After a poor season at Hannover and a goal drought with the national team, Tresoldi can use this tournament as a jump pad to allow him to start fresh at Club Brugge next summer.

There are also plenty of other names that could be pointed out, such as Rocco Reitz and Paul Nebel in midfield. The latter had a great season with Mainz as they qualified for the Conference League.
Predicted Germany XI:
Noah Atubolu – Nnmadi Collins, Tim Oermann, Bright Arrey-Mbi, Nathanial Brown – Eric Martel, Paul Nebel, Rocco Reitz – Brajan Gruda, Nicolo Tresoldi, Nick Woltemade

Daniel Levy: Sacking Ange Postecoglou as Tottenham head coach 'emotionally difficult'

Tottenham Hotspur chairman Daniel Levy has described the decision to sack Ange Postecoglou as 'emotionally difficult.' Postecoglou became Spurs' head coach in June 2023 and he led them to a fifth-placed finish during his first season. Tottenham suffered from a crippling injury crisis during his second year in charge which negatively impacted their domestic form. Spurs lost 22 games under Postecoglou and finished 17th but they won their first piece of silverware since 2008 with a 1-0 victory over Manchester United in the Europa League final. Advertisement Postecoglou was sacked by Spurs 16 days after lifting that trophy in Bilbao and on the second anniversary of his appointment. Thomas Frank was announced as the new head coach last week. In a rare interview, conducted alongside new chief executive Vinai Venkatesham, published on the club's YouTube channel, Levy explained why Postecoglou left. 'I'm very grateful to Ange,' Levy said. 'I don't regret appointing Ange. In his first season we finished fifth and in the second season we were over the moon to win a trophy but we need to compete in all competitions. We felt that we needed a change. 'I have got an excellent relationship with him and told him he will always be a part of our history. Himself and his family are always welcome back. It was a collective decision. It wasn't my decision. We do everything together. Emotionally it was difficult but we believe we have made the right decision for the club.' Venkatesham described the 'thorough' process behind hiring Frank. Spurs identified 10 key characteristics which they felt a manager needed to possess to be successful and analysed more than 30 candidates before Frank emerged as their first choice. Venkatesham specifically praised Frank's track record of developing young talent after he improved Bryan Mbeumo, Yoane Wissa and Ivan Toney during his time with Brentford and previously worked with Denmark's youth teams. 'Whenever you have a new coach it is always a fresh start,' Levy said. 'You have different ideas. We want to build on the success of winning a trophy last season. One of the things that stood out to me with Thomas — clearly highly intelligent, great communicator, super human being plus all of the other technical aspects that are important.' Frank's first competitive game in charge of Spurs will be the UEFA Super Cup against Paris Saint-Germain on August 13. Before that, Spurs head to Hong Kong and South Korea for a pre-season tour where they will face Arsenal and Newcastle United. ()

British Tennis Star Katie Boulter Says She's Received Death Threats from Sports Bettors: ‘It's Horrible'

NEED TO KNOW British tennis player Katie Boulter has spoken out about the vile messages she's received on social media from sports bettors Boulter said she gets hateful messages, including death threats, whether she wins or loses a match On a few occasions, Boulter has responded to the nasty messages to make senders think twice British tennis player Katie Boulter is calling out a dangerous side of sports betting after receiving death threats. In an interview with BBC Sport released on Tuesday, June 17, Boulter, 28, spoke about the impact those messages have had on her. "I think it just kind of shows how vulnerable we are," said Boulter, who has received messages from people telling her they "hope she gets cancer" and to "go to hell." Advertisement "I don't think it's something that I would ever say to my worst enemy," she continued. "It's just an awful, awful thing to say to anyone. It's horrible." Boulter, who is engaged to Australian tennis player Alex de Minaur, also noted another level of concern when she realized "you really don't know if they're nearby or if they know where you live or anything like that." One message, according to the BBC, threatened to damage a grave belonging to Boulter's grandmother and referenced "candles and a coffin" for her "entire family." Advertisement Boulter said that the online harassment has happened since "the very start" of her career, mostly "getting comments about the way you look." She added, "I think it increases in number and it also increases in the level of things that people say. I don't think there's anything off the cards now." The British tennis star noted that death threats are "just not something you want to be reading straight after an emotional loss," and that the threats come even after she wins, too. "A lot of the time you get it after you win as well," she shared. Another issue Boulter raised in her interview was the subject of explicit imagery being sent to players. The athlete said she's had "quite of few of those" in her direct messages and requests. "That's also a larger problem," Boulter told the outlet. "Youngsters really shouldn't be seeing things like that or being sent things like that." The tennis star said she's even responded to some of the more negative messages she's received so that "maybe they can take a second and look at themselves." "Sometimes the replies I actually get from that is them saying: 'Oh no, I'm a huge fan. I'm so sorry. I didn't want to send you that stuff, but it was emotional, I didn't mean to. You know, I still support you. I think you're amazing,' " Boulter shared. Advertisement BBC Sport spoke to All England Lawn Tennis Club's chief executive Sally Bolton, who said her team is trying "very hard to protect the players when they're on site and digitally." "It's disappointing that athletes aren't able to go about what they do without receiving that abuse, but unfortunately it is a reality, and betting on sport now I'm afraid is also a reality, so we have to think about how we can mitigate some of that threat and risk," said Bolton.
