Language school in France shut down, suspected of operating as Quranic school
The Lissen Language Institute in Colombes, France, was shut down on Monday by Prefect Alexandre Brugère, who suspects the premises of housing a Quranic school. The establishment is under suspicion of «Islamist deviations», in addition to «identified failures in fire safety measures that endangered the lives of children hosted there», leading to its «emergency closure», as announced by the prefecture on social media.
According to information from Europe1, «at least 16 anomalies were noted during a recent inspection, including the dilapidated condition of the building, blocked emergency exits, insufficient fire extinguishers, and staff untrained in safety standards». Additionally, the administration noted the presence of «several posters» found on the premises, «depicting adults and children without faces», which «may correspond to a Salafist or Wahhabi interpretation of Islam». «Similar elements have already been found in other institutions associated with radical Islam, raising concerns», the prefecture added.
In this context, the prefect referred to the «guidelines of the Minister of the Interior», stating that «no form of association with Islamism will be tolerated». The institute's administrators have a two-month window to file an appeal.

Doha – King Mohammed VI has expressed profound grief over the death of Abdelhak El Mrini, the historiographer of Morocco and spokesperson for the Royal Palace. El Mrini died in the night between Monday and Tuesday at the age of 91. In a message of condolences to El Mrini's family, the monarch conveyed his deep affliction and sadness. 'We have learned with a profound affliction and great sadness the news of the death of Our faithful servant, the late Abdelhak Lamrini, historiographer of the Kingdom of Morocco and spokesperson of the Royal Palace,' wrote the sovereign. He added that El Mrini's death comes in the midst of the blessed days of Dou Al Hijja. El Mrini joined the royal protocol directorate in 1965, beginning a long association with the monarchy. He served as Director of Royal Palaces, Honors, and Decorations before becoming the kingdom's historiographer in 2010 and Royal Palace spokesperson in October 2012. The deceased authored several important works, including 'The Moroccan Army Throughout History,' which won the Literary Prize of Morocco in 1968. His other writings covered historical epics, societal themes, and religious subjects. The Islamic World Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization (ICESCO) also mourned El Mrini's passing. Over 205,000 Pilgrims Without Hajj Permits Expelled from Mecca
Rabat – Saudi Authorities have expelled more than 205,000 people attempting to perform the Hajj pilgrimage without a permit. Such violations are a recurring issue, mainly committed by individuals who fail to obtain permits due to high demand, limited quotas, or financial constraints. Some also fall victim to fraudulent offices that promise fake permits. These violations occur through unauthorized entry routes, using forged documents, or being transported in private vehicles to bypass security. Mohammed Al-Bassami, the Director of Public Security and Chairman of the Hajj Security Committee, announced new legislation to deal with such violations during the Hajj season. He revealed that Saudi Public Security has identified over 415 fake Hajj offices and turned back more than 269,000 pilgrims without permits. Authorities have imposed penalties on more than 75,000 violators of Hajj regulations. Al-Bassami added that security teams arrested 1,239 individuals attempting to transport unauthorized pilgrims. Saudi Public Security turned back a total of 110,000 vehicles at the entrances of Mecca for transporting these individuals, he added. Saudi authorities have established permanent security checkpoints at the entrances to the holy city to stop violators. Authorities are aiming to ensure safety and proper organization of the pilgrimage, as these violations could cause serious overcrowding and increase risks of accidents and stampedes.
