Some accidents leave behind scars so deep that their stories are never forgotten. The shadow of the Ahmedabad plane crash is one such tragedy that won't fade away anytime soon. Screams, cries, sobs, tears, and the scene of death… it's impossible to forget. Every death carries a story. History has witnessed many such heart-wrenching accidents that leave lasting wounds. One such story is that of the famous Indian film actress Zubeidaa Begum. In the 1940s, she was known for her courage and beauty, which became part of cinematic history. Tragically, Zubeidaa too lost her life in a horrific plane crash, a tragedy that is still remembered even after all these years.
Many questions have been raised about this accident. Was it an accident or a conspiracy? Usually, every accident leaves this question. In that accident, Zubaidaa Begum's husband, who was Maharaja Vijayendra 'Victor' Singh of Fatehpur, was also killed. A story that ended before it could be completed, leaving many questions unanswered. Even today, that question often comes in the mind. After all, what happened in the plane that day?
It is worth mentioning that Zubeidaa Begum was a Hindi film actress who worked in numerous films. She began her career during the silent film era, and whether the roles were small or big, she performed each one with full dedication. However, beyond her film career, she had a personal life that not everyone was aware of, not even her own family. Her father, in particular, was unaware of her passion for acting and was strictly against her working in films.
Despite all the opposition, Zubeidaa Begum carved out space for her dreams and emotions. This unwavering determination was the most remarkable quality of her personality. Zubeida Begum's life, full of mysteries and ups and downs, was a film story in itself, and this is why famous filmmaker Shyam Benegal made a film on her in the year 2001, named Zubeidaa. This National Award-winning film holds a special place in Shyam Benegal's filmography, which was a new link to Mammo and Sardari Begum, but it was a historic opportunity for Karisma Kapoor in the role of Zubeidaa. In the movie, Karisma Kapoor portrayed Zubeidaa's life on screen very well and also garnered praise. Manoj Bajpayee is also in the movie. He played the role of Maharaja Vijayendra Singh.
The special thing is that the screenplay of this film was written by none other than Zubeidaa's real-life son, writer and filmmaker Khalid Mohammad.
There are not many stories of Zubeda's life after marriage. Some things are said broadly, which Shyam Benegal has shown in the film. After this, the king's political ambitions started growing. He formed a party and took the initiative to contest elections. One day, when he was about to go to the election campaign, Zubeidaa also insisted on going with him. The Raja did not want to take Zubeidaa along, but she was adamant. It is said that the king himself was very fond of flying planes. But the night before the accident, he could not sleep properly.
The plane crash happened while going for an election campaign
It was the ill-fated morning of 26 January, 1952. The plane in which Raja and Zubeidaa flew crashed in Godwar, Rajasthan. Both of them died in this accident. Shyam Benegal's film on the plane crash is considered notable, which is mentioned many times. It became a cult classic. It shows that the actress had to face difficulties from her people while fulfilling her ambitions on many fronts. Shyam Benegal has presented the companionship shown by Karisma Kapoor and Rekha in their roles as the two wives of Manoj Bajpayee, who played the king, very well.

'Prince William's billionaire friend': How US, UK media reported Karisma Kapoor's ex-husband Sanjay Kapur's death

To Bollywood audiences, Sunjay Kapur, who died on Thursday, may have been Karisma Kapoor's ex-husband, but to the wider international community, he was much more - an industrialist, a polo player, and a friend of royalty. (Also read: Sunjay Kapur's funeral to be held in Delhi, but legal hurdle in getting body back to India) Sunjay Kapur died after suffering a heart attack while he was in the middle of a polo match in London on Thursday. The 53-year-old was a regular in the polo circles of the UK, which is how he came to be associated with Prince William. The Prince of Wales has been described as a friend of the late businessman. The New York Post's headline about Sunjay's death read: "Prince William's billionaire pal Sunjay Kapur dead after swallowing bee during polo match". People Magazine also focused on Sunjay's friendship with William and the bizarre reported nature of his death. "Prince William's friend dies after swallowing a bee at Windsor polo match," read their headline. The New York Times, however, highlighted his marriage to Karisma. Their headline read: "Sunjay Kapur, businessman and ex-husband of Bollywood star, dies at 53." Most British publications also mentioned Prince William in their reportage of the billionaire businessman's death. Aamir Khan reveals he refused to edit 'Dangal' for Pakistan release; was asked to remove Indian flag and national anthem

Aamir Khan is ready to return to the big screen with his much-awaited film 'Sitaare Zameen Par'. But before that, many of his fans would remember that when 'Dangal' was released in 2016, it became one of Aamir Khan's biggest hits. While the film was praised across the world, it was never released in Pakistan . Now, years later, the actor has finally revealed the reason why. Why 'Dangal' was not released in Pakistan During a recent appearance on Aap Ki Adalat, Aamir opened up about the real reason behind 'Dangal' not being released in Pakistan. He revealed that the Pakistani censor board had made an unusual request. 'When the film was released, Disney was one of the producers; they presented it. Pakistan's censor had asked them to remove the Indian flag and the Indian national anthem from the scene where Geeta Phogat wins a match. They said they won't release this film unless this is done,' the 'PK' actor said. The producers were worried that skipping the Pakistan release could hurt the film's earnings. But Aamir made his decision instantly — and stood firm on it. The 'Rang De Basanti' actor further added, 'Within a second, I told them that our film will not be released in Pakistan. I did not want to think about it either. They said this might impact our business. I said, 'I have no interest if somebody asks me to remove our national flag and national anthem . I do not want this.' Despite not releasing in Pakistan, 'Dangal' went on to become a massive blockbuster across the world. It not only dominated the Indian box office but also broke records internationally. According to Sacnilk, 'Dangal' achieved a staggering worldwide collection of Rs 2070.3 crore, making it one of the highest-grossing Indian films. Aamir's next film: 'Sitaare Zameen Par' After taking time away from films, Aamir Khan is now all set to return with 'Sitaare Zameen Par', which hits theatres on 20 June 2025. This film, directed by R. S. Prasanna, is a sports comedy-drama where Aamir plays a fun and confident coach. 'I saw the same josh in Sushant that I had,' Shatrughan Sinha says Sushant Singh Rajput's loss was a National tragedy

On the solemn occasion of Sushant Singh Rajput 's fifth death anniversary, veteran actor and politician Shatrughan Sinha opens up with rare emotion and candour. In a heartfelt conversation with ETimes, he reflects on the enduring pain of Sushant's untimely demise, the mystique that surrounds it even today, and the legacy the young star left behind. Drawing parallels to his own struggles in the industry, Sinha offers not just memories, but also wisdom for young dreamers chasing stardom in Mumbai. Shatruji, five years have passed since we lost Sushant Singh Rajput. What a loss! The country has still not gotten over it. Some tragedies are such that even time cannot heal the pain. Sushant's death remains a mystery? It's the love of the people that keeps his death shrouded in mystery. People tend to mystify the passing of those they deeply love—especially when they die young—like Guru Dutt , Meena Kumari , and everyone's favourite, Sridevi. Do you empathize more with this loss? Sushant's loss is not a regional tragedy. It was a national one. But yes, I do identify with his struggle to find a place in the Hindi film industry without a godfather. When I arrived in Mumbai, I had no contacts and no idea about how to proceed. I just had a few hundred rupees in my pocket and endless josh (enthusiasm). I saw that same Josh in Sushant. The films he did are a legacy that's hard to ignore. by Taboola by Taboola Sponsored Links Sponsored Links Promoted Links Promoted Links You May Like Infertile Man Visits Orphanage And Hears, 'Hi Daddy.'
