New campaign to support sexual assault survivors
A new campaign has been launched in Bristol to raise awareness of the support services available to sexual assault survivors.
Funded by the Police and Crime Commissioner (PCC) for Avon and Somerset and NHS England, the "We're Here" campaign aims to ensure victims know where to find expert care and support.
The initiative is backed by Bristol City Council, the University of Bristol, UWE Bristol, and their respective students' unions.
Police and Crime Commissioner Clare Moody said: "One of my key priorities is ensuring that victim-survivors have access to high-quality, expert support."

She added: "This campaign will help more people understand that they do not have to face this alone."
The new initiative will share information across social media, city networks, and outreach efforts to ensure survivors in Bristol can access the support they need.
It involves three key local organisations offering free, confidential, and independent support for survivors:
The Bridge - a Sexual Assault Referral Centre providing medical care, forensic services, and crisis support.
Safe Link – offers Independent Sexual Violence Advisors to support survivors through the criminal justice system and their recovery.
SARSAS – a specialist service providing counselling, group work, and trauma-informed care.
Nicola Shannon, Service Manager at The Bridge, said: "Seeking help takes courage.
"This campaign ensures survivors know support is always available, whether or not they choose to involve the police."

Josiah Hill told People in an interview over the weekend that the news of Gilbert's death 'just makes things worse.' Police apology to Nuneaton locals left waiting for parcel deliveries after discovery
Police have apologised to residents in Nuneaton who may still be waiting for parcels to be delivered. It comes after they stopped a delivery driver's car. They found out that the driver, who has not been identified, was delivering parcels without any insurance. As a result, they had to seize the car. The driver was also reported to court. But, in the meantime, it means that all of the parcels that the driver was due to deliver have been delayed. "Vehicle has been seized and reported for the driving offence. If driving a vehicle- ensure you have the correct documentation to be doing so." The action today (June 16) comes after local teams also seized two bikes on Friday (June 13). It followed what they described as some 'excellent information' from a member of the public. One was seized for being driven on the public road with no insurance and the other for being stolen. They said that the stolen bike will be returned to its rightful owner.

A loveable dog who was brought into a Kansas shelter in heartbreaking condition is now on the lookout for a new home and warm bed to rest his head on. Meet Ruger, the (now) three-legged pup who was brought into the Kansas Humane Society in Wichita with a bullet in his leg. 'Ruger came to us from our neighbors at the Wichita Animal Shelter with a shattered elbow from a gunshot wound,' the shelter said in a June 16 Facebook post. 'We don't know his story or why anyone would do something like this, but he's unbelievably sweet and kept trying to scootch into my lap and reach up for pets in our KHS Clinic.' The 1-year-old dog was reportedly abused and shot 'by an unknown assailant,' his pet profile says. 'We amputated his front left leg and sent him off to foster care to recover! He's recently returned and has been cleared for adoption!' the shelter says.
