Russia Advances in Southern Ukraine, Defense Ministry Says
Russian forces were on Monday advancing in southern Ukraine and had pierced part of the Ukrainian lines less than 50 km (31 miles) southeast of the city of Zaporizhzhia, according to Russian officials and pro-Russian military bloggers.
Reuters could not independently verify the assertions and there was no immediate comment from Ukraine.
Russia's Defense Ministry said in a statement that its forces had taken the village of Stepove in the Zaporizhzhia region, pushing through Ukrainian lines.
Yuri Podolyaka, one of the most influential pro-Russian military bloggers, said Russian forces had also smashed their way into the nearby village of Maly Shcherbaky.
"Our units have broken through the first line of defense in the Zaporizhzhia direction," Podolyaka said.
Russia on Sunday tried to drive the last Ukrainian soldiers from western Russia, after a seven-month incursion by Ukraine that aimed to distract Moscow's forces, gain a bargaining chip and rile President Vladimir Putin.

Prisoner swap between Russia and Ukraine under way
KYIV — A prisoner exchange is under way between Russia and Ukraine, governments in Moscow and Kyiv have confirmed. Russia and Ukraine exchange group of younger prisoners of war, Moscow says
Russia and Ukraine have carried out a prisoner of war exchange involving POWs under the age of 25, Russia's Defense Ministry said on Monday, saying the swap was the result of direct talks between Russia and Ukraine earlier this month. The June 2 Istanbul talks resulted in an agreement to conduct an exchange of at least 1,200 POWs on each side - focusing on the youngest and most severely wounded - and to repatriate thousands of bodies of those killed in the war. Both sides said it would be the biggest exchange once completed, something that was expected to happen in phases. The return of prisoners of war and the return of the bodies of the dead is one of the few things the two sides have been able to agree on, even as their broader negotiations have failed to get close to ending the war, now in its fourth year. The Russian Defense Ministry did not say in its statement how many POWs had been exchanged on Monday, but said both sides had swapped the same amount of military personnel. Iran Threatens to Unveil Sensitive Israeli Nuclear Data
Iran has threatened to reveal sensitive data regarding Israel's nuclear program after seizing what it called a 'treasure trove' of classified documents, reported Reuters. On Sunday, the Iranian Intelligence Minister, Esmail Khatib, said that Tehran would soon release sensitive Israeli documents that would bolster Iran's strategic position and strengthen its offensive capabilities. Sensitive Data Speaking to Iran's state TV, Khatib said that these documents contain data related to Israel's nuclear facilities and its defensive capabilities, as well as to its relations with the US, Europe and other countries. This followed reports by Iran's state media on Saturday that Iranian intelligence agencies had seized a large trove of sensitive material from Israel. 'The transfer of this treasure trove was time-consuming and required security measures. Naturally, the transfer methods will remain confidential but the documents should be unveiled soon,' Khatib said, adding that 'talking of thousands of documents would be an understatement.' So far, Israel has not acknowledged the operation. According to Reuters, the operation might have links to a reported hacking on an Israeli nuclear facility last year. Nuclear Talks The announcement came as Iran and the US are engaging in talks to reach a new agreement on Tehran's nuclear program. However, he blocked a planned Israeli attack on Iranian nuclear sites in April, favoring a negotiated deal. On the other hand, the Iranian Supreme Leader, Ayatollah Ali Khamenei, on Wednesday ruled out abandoning uranium enrichment, saying it was '100%' against Iran's interests.
