Details are limited; however, crews responded to the 500 block of Lebaum St. SE, according to a social media post that was published just before 3:20 a.m.
DC News Now took photos of the scene. Yellow police tape was set up around a residential area at the corner.

Freeport man charged in connection with shooting of Chicago police officer
CHICAGO, Ill. (WTVO) — A Freeport man is charged in connection with the death of Chicago police officer Krystal Rivera. Rivera was killed last Thursday during the pursuit of Adrian Rucker, 25. to Chicago Police, officers were called to East 82nd Street and South Drexel Avenue for reports of a man with a rifle. When they arrived, Rucker ran into an apartment building and was pursued. Inside, police said Rucker confronted officers with a rifle. One of the pursuing officers fired a shot, which struck Rivera in the back. As officers were attempting to take her to a local hospital, the car crashed and caught fire, and another squad car was called to transport Rivera. She was pronounced dead at the hospital. Police said they recovered three handguns at the scene, including two AR-style pistols, along with heroin and crack cocaine. Rucker was arrested two blocks away. Authorities said there were six warrants in multiple counties for Rucker's arrest. He faces charges of armed violence, possession of a firearm without a Firearm Owners Identification, possession of a fraudulent ID card, possession of a controlled substance, and six arrest warrants. Construction workers robbed on West Side job sites
CHICAGO — Construction workers were recently robbed on the West Side, according to a Chicago police community alert. The two incidents were part of an alert telling residents about recent armed robberies in Austin and Garfield Park. A timeline of the incidents is below, according to CPD. Thursday, June 5 at 12:25 p.m. — 4300 block of West Washington Boulevard Thursday, June 5 at 4:10 p.m. — 4400 block of West Monroe Thursday, June 5 at 4:11 p.m. — 0-100 block of South Kilbourn Sunday, June 8 at 5:26 p.m. — 4600 block of West Maypole Police did not specify which two incidents were the robberies of construction workers. The suspect is described as a Black male, 16-25, 5'7″-6'1″,140-150 lbs. He was wearing a dark gray hooded sweatshirt with a white design on the back, black pants, white and black gym shoes and a black surgical mask. Violence erupts amid Pride events in DC
The Brief A 21-year-old man was shot and killed early Sunday near 14th and S Streets NW, police said. Two teenage boys were stabbed during a WorldPride event at Dupont Circle Park on Saturday evening. Multiple shootings occurred across the city between late Saturday and early Monday morning. WASHINGTON - A violent weekend unfolded in the District amid WorldPride celebrations. Early Sunday, 21-year-old Brandon Tolson was shot and killed near 14th and S Streets NW, just blocks from Dupont Circle, police said. Officers responded to the scene just before 3 a.m., where Tolson, a district resident, was pronounced dead. Seven other shootings occurred between late Saturday and early Sunday morning, authorities reported. Just before 11 p.m. on Saturday, a juvenile male was found with a gunshot wound in the 1900 block of U Street NW. Around the same time, officers investigated additional shootings on M Street NE, W Street SE, and T Street NW. Violence also broke out at Dupont Circle Park during a WorldPride event on Saturday evening. Around 7 p.m., a 15-year-old and a 16-year-old boy were stabbed, police said. An hour later, as officers worked to disperse crowds, a man was shot in the foot near the entrance of the Dupont Circle Metro station.
