Animal-rights protester disrupts Club World Cup with anti-Morocco sign

An animal-rights activist ran onto the field during a Club World Cup match between Manchester City and Wydad at Lincoln Financial Field on Wednesday, urging Morocco to reform its treatment of stray animals. The man wore a shirt that read, Morocco, end the stray dog massacre, and carried a sign that read, Morocco: stop shooting dogs and cats. He ran for a few seconds before he was tackled by security workers and escorted out of the stadium. The protester's shirt and sign included the logo of People for the Ethical Treatment of Animals. @giseleofficial Activists stormed the field at the FIFA Club World Cup to demand an end to Morocco's plan to kill—by shooting, poisoning, & burning alive— 99% of homeless dogs ahead of the 2030 FIFA World Cup. Join us & speak out to end the massacre! — PETA (@peta) June 18, 2025 Wydad is based in Casablanca, Morocco. PETA has been critical of the Moroccan government for its treatment of stray cats and dogs. Morocco is among the hosts of the 2030 World Cup. The government has expanded a Trap, Neuter, Vaccinate and Return program for stray animals, but activists have claimed that animals are being killed rather than neutered. Ju Haknyeon controversy: Japanese AV actress Kirara Asuka accused of cheating on disabled BF with THE BOYZ member

Kirara Asuka (36), a former Japanese p*rnstar, has been going viral lately, due to the controversy surrounding her link-up with Ju Haknyeon, an ex-member of the South Korean boy band THE BOYZ. The duo secretly met in Tokyo last month, which, once exposed, earned the K-pop artist immense backlash. Meanwhile, as per Japan's L Magazine, she is publicly dating a YouTuber, which has led to accusations of her cheating with Ju Haknyeon. Who is Kirara Asuka's boyfriend? Kirara Asuka is reportedly in a relationship with Hirok (Hirokawa Ryu), an intellectually disabled individual, as per Japan's L Magazine. Hirok is 12 years younger than her and is a YouTuber by profession. The two initially connected through a collaborative video project and went on to publicly reveal their relationship in 2021. They made a notable appearance together as a couple on the runway at the Kansai Collection fashion show held at Osaka's Kyocera Dome last year. They dressed as characters from the anime Fairy Musketeers Little Red Riding Hood, fulfilling Hirok's dream of walking the runway. The public showed support for the unusual union of two people from different backgrounds until the Ju Haknyeon scandal surfaced. Why is Kirara Asuka being accused of cheating on her BF with Ju Haknyeon? Ju Haknyeon and his acquaintances allegedly met with Kirara Asuka at a private bar in Tokyo's Roppongi district on late May 29, as reported by K-media outlet News1 Korea. They had drinks and allegedly got cozy with each other. Photos obtained by Japan's Shukan Bunshun show Ju Haknyeon and Kirara Asuka in close contact, including hugging and her resting her chin on his shoulder. Additionally, THE BOYZ's agency ONE HUNDRED allegedly found circumstantial evidence of Ju Haknyeon engaging in pr*stitution with Asuka Kirara, as reported by Tenasia. This led to speculation that she was cheating on her boyfriend with the K-pop idol. Kirara Asuka's other romantic link-ups A decade ago, Kirara Asuka was linked to Hey! Say! JUMP's Inoo Kei, as per a report by Japanese media outlet Shukan Josei, which has now resurfaced. At the time, the pair was reportedly spotted together in close proximity at the Marina Bay Sands hotel in Singapore.

Shubman Gill told 'there are no expectations' from Team India, draws MS Dhoni parallel before 1st Test vs England

Team India is currently undergoing a significant transition, marked by the Test retirements of stalwarts Virat Kohli and Rohit Sharma last month. Since being appointed head coach following India's T20 World Cup triumph in 2024, Gautam Gambhir has emerged as a commanding figure in the dressing room. Known for his fierce persona and no-nonsense approach, Gambhir's leadership style has been evident, from bold selections to sharp, undiplomatic responses in press conferences. In the wake of Kohli and Rohit's exits, speculation swirled around whether it was the team management, possibly led by Gambhir, that communicated to the legendary duo that their inconsistent form no longer guaranteed a place in the side. While the exact trigger behind their retirement remains unclear, there is little doubt that Gambhir now wields considerable influence over the team's direction. With Shubman Gill stepping into the role of Test captain, many believe the team now bears Gambhir's imprint, that this is, in essence, his team. However, former Indian cricketer WV Raman offered a different perspective. Raman believes it is unfair to single out Gambhir, stressing that the captain has the ultimate responsibility. 'It's not all about the coach all the time. Yes, we all know Gambhir is a good tactician. He's also a very intense man. And he's also got the best interest of the team at heart. So, we got to try and forget the fact that everything should be related to the coach. We didn't do this with his predecessors. We are doing it with him, if you remember,' Raman told The Times of India. 'So, coach is always somebody who's got to stay in the background. We should allow the coach to do his job. And he's going to take all the decisions based on how he sees things. Because he's the one who is completely aware of what is exactly happening with each and every individual in the side. And then as far as this team is concerned, this will always be a team under the title of a captain who is successful.' Raman also believes that the current transition period in the Indian team mirrors the time when MS Dhoni took over the captaincy before the 2007 T20 World Cup. Dhoni, a first-time captain, led a young team to title victory at the time, which kickstarted a golden era in Indian cricket. 'As far as this particular team is concerned, even though there's a lot of apprehension about how the series will pan out, I for one think this team is in the same situation as Dhoni's team when they embarked on the first T20 World Cup. There are no expectations. So, that is a big advantage for this side. That's a real big advantage for this side. And they have everything to gain. The only way is up,' said Raman. 'And I think therein lies this team to spring a surprise. Because let's not forget that even though India has not won many series in England, we've always sprung a lot of surprises there. Starting from Chandra's (Bhagwath Chandrasekhar) spell and Ajit Wadekar's series win in 1971, India has sprung a surprise or two always in England.'
