Telfar Returns to the Runway on Juneteenth — & the Moment Couldn't Be More Powerful

After nearly five years away from the catwalk, Telfar is making its long-anticipated return to the runway — and the brand has chosen Juneteenth weekend for its moment. The move isn't just symbolic; it's strategic, timely, and deeply resonant for a label that has built its name by flipping the script on what luxury fashion looks like — and who it's for.
While the exact date and location have not yet been confirmed, the timing aligns with Paris Men's Fashion Week this June, fueling speculation about an international stage. Regardless of where the show lands, the event will be livestreamed globally via TELFAR.TV, the brand's 24-hour public access channel. As always, accessibility isn't an afterthought for Telfar — it's the foundation. Why Juneteenth Matters for This Moment
Celebrated annually on June 19, Juneteenth commemorates the emancipation of enslaved African Americans in the United States. Officially recognized as a federal holiday in 2021, it's a day of reflection, joy, resilience — and now, a moment Telfar has chosen to return to the public eye.
For a brand whose DNA is deeply rooted in Black identity, inclusivity, and anti-establishment values, this timing couldn't be more fitting. Telfar's approach has never been about spectacle for the sake of it — it's about meaning, community, and making space. A Juneteenth show isn't just a date on the calendar; it's a cultural declaration. The Brand That Redefined 'It' Bags and Rewrote Fashion's Rules
Founded in 2005 by Liberian-American designer Telfar Clemens, the label burst into mainstream consciousness with its now-iconic Shopping Bag — a unisex, vegan-leather tote that became one of the most sought-after accessories of the decade. Nicknamed the 'Bushwick Birkin,' the bag's meteoric rise spoke to the hunger for luxury that wasn't exclusionary. Telfar has always stood by the mantra: 'Not for you — for everyone.' From its genderless collections to its 'drop' release model designed to thwart bots and resellers, the brand has challenged the gatekeeping norms of high fashion at every turn. An Open Call — and an Open Door
In the lead-up to the show, Telfar invited fans to participate through an open casting call at the NYC flagship store. Announced via a cheeky Instagram video parodying America's Next Top Model , the initiative drew long lines of hopefuls, all vying for the chance to walk in the show. It wasn't just a casting, but instead, it was a celebration of the community Telfar has built.
The casting further underscores Telfar's inclusive ethos, blurring the line between customer and model, insider and outsider. Everyone is welcome. Everyone gets a seat — or, in this case, a shot at the runway. TELFAR.TV: A Platform for the People
For those unable to attend in person, TELFAR.TV will stream the show live, ensuring that the moment reaches a global audience without the velvet rope. The platform, launched in 2021, reflects Telfar's continued push toward democratizing fashion media, creating a hybrid space that merges livestreams, brand storytelling, and experimental content.
In a time when other brands are doubling down on exclusivity, Telfar is doing the opposite: widening the lens and opening the door. What This Means for Fashion — And the Future
Telfar's Juneteenth runway return isn't just a comeback, it's a reset. As the industry continues to grapple with issues of inclusivity, accessibility, and systemic change, Telfar reminds us that fashion can be both powerful and purposeful. It can reflect the world we live in — not just the few who traditionally had access to it.
In choosing Juneteenth as its comeback moment, Telfar isn't just staging a fashion show. It's reclaiming the runway as a space of freedom, visibility, and radical joy.
Watch it live on TELFAR.TV this Juneteenth weekend — and witness a brand continuing to change fashion, from the ground up.

Kylie Jenner and Timothée Chalamet Have Perfected Courtside Date Night Style
Timothée Chalamet and Kylie Jenner attend Game Six of the Eastern Conference Finals of the 2025 NBA Playoffs between the New York Knicks and the Indiana Pacers, May 31 2025, Indiana. (Photo by) Kylie Jenner and Timothée Chalamet's courtside date nights may have come to an abrupt end over the weekend after their team's loss, but they graced us with one last sweet sighting of the season. Known New York Knicks super-fan Chalamet has been a fixture at many games over this NBA season, drawing attention for his courtside style and passion. Jenner has since joined in on the fanfare, attending two games with the A Complete Unknown star before the one this past Saturday. While the Knicks may have lost to the Indiana Pacers this weekend, the couple at least brought their A-game in the outfit department. (Photo by) (Photo by) Chalamet donned his brand of choice—Chrome Hearts—wearing a custom orange and blue suede Knicks jacket and matching pants. To accessorise, he added a gold chain and sporty silver sunglasses to his look. His look was on par with his usual flashy 90s streetwear style—at least for the courtside. Meanwhile, Jenner also stuck to her game uniform, with a white tank top, dark jeans, and white pumps. She added a nylon orange, blue, and white Knicks bomber to represent the team. Just a few days prior, at an earlier Knicks vs Pacers game, the Khy founder wore a white crop top, black Gucci leather pants, and white Chanel heels with an orange Jean Paul Gaultier leather jacket. 'Kylie's really happy and relieved they finally made their debut. It was time, and she wanted to publicly support him and show how proud of him she is,' a source told Us Weekly . It seems they have both perfected their Knicks-based sartorial vibes, which we'll hope to see again next season. But for now, we can't wait to see how the couple's style evolves in the meantime off the court. topics: Kylie Jenner, timothee chalamet, kylie and timothee, NBA, knicks, Kardashians, Jenners, celebrity, celebrity couples, celebrity fashion, Trending, celebrity news

She went for a light brown halter-neck top along with camel-toned slacks and a blazer. The Only Murders in the Building star kept accessories simple, with her classic gold hoops and brown pointed-toe heels. Both topped off their outfits with a red lip. Swift with her classic cool-toned true red, and Gomez with a more muted autumnal tone. This outing came after exciting news the day prior when the singer took to her socials for an announcement that was a long time coming. Taylor Swift / Image: 'All of the music I've ever made… now belongs… to me,' she wrote to fans. This was, of course, in reference to having purchased back the masters to her albums, after many years of battling to re-obtain them from various sources. Gomez was one of many stars to congratulate Swift, sharing the news on her Instagram stories. 'Yes, you did that, Tay! So proud,' were the words of encouragement she gave her long-time friend. Bella & Gigi Hadid Reveal They Have Another Sister: "We've Cherished This Unexpected And Beautiful Addition To Our Family"
Photo: Getty Supermodel sisters Bella and Gigi Hadid have revealed they have another sister. In a joint statement given to the Daily Mail , the siblings shared they have another half-sister named Aydan Nix, who is the daughter of their father, Mohamed Hadid. The sisters stated their father had a 'brief romance' with Terri Hatfield Dull, the mother of 23-year-old Aydan, after his divorce from Yolanda Hadid in 2001. 'Over 20 years ago, our dad, while single, had a brief relationship that led to a pregnancy,' the Palestinian-Dutch sisters outlined in their statement, which they highlighted they didn't know about until recently. Photo: Courtesy of Fashion Trust Arabia 'Aydan was born and raised in Florida, growing up with the man she lovingly knew as her father until his sudden passing when she was 19,' the statement added. This prompted Aydan to 'take a genetic test out of curiosity', which led the then-teenager to uncover she had a 'biological connection' to the Hadid family. According to their statement, Gigi and Bella connected with their younger half-sister in late 2023. 'We've cherished this unexpected and beautiful addition to our family,' Gigi and Bella stated, but also affirmed their hopes for Aydan's continued right to privacy. 'As siblings, we've had many open and loving conversations—with Aydan included—about how to support and protect her,' the sisters said in their statement to the outlet. 'Aydan and her family value their privacy, and we fully respect that. 'We kindly ask others to do the same and honour her wish and right to her anonymity as she continues her life as a young woman in New York.' Not much is known about Aydan, apart from she currently resides in New York City, having reportedly recently graduated from Parsons School of Design, with the hopes of working in the fashion industry. Photo: Instagram Bella, 28, and Gigi, 30, also have a brother, Anwar Hadid, 25, from Mohamed and Yolanda's marriage. They also have two other half-sisters, Alana Hadid, 39, and Marielle Hadid, 44, from Mohamed's previous marriage to Mary Butler. While it's not known about the ins and outs of the supermodel siblings' relationship with Aydan, both Gigi and Bella follow the aspiring designer on Instagram, as well as Mohamed.
