‘Unacceptable': Bangladeshi Army Vows To Intervene Over Illegal Immigrants' ‘Push In' From India

Indian authorities have been apprehending Bangladeshis residing illegally in India and transferring them to Border Guard Bangladesh (BGB) personnel.
A senior Bangladesh Army officer on Monday said that the 'pushing in" of undocumented individuals by Indian authorities was 'unacceptable," adding that the force was prepared to intervene if necessary.
While speaking to the reporters, Director of Bangladesh Military Operations Directorate (MOD) Brigadier General Md Nazim-ud-Daula said that the border guarding force was doing their duty and managing the situation very well as of now, as reported by Dhaka-based The Daily Star.

Terming expulsion of Bangladeshi illegal immigrants as 'pushing in," Dhaka vowed that it would send back Indians staying illegally in Bangladesh through proper diplomatic channels.
While responding to Indian authorities handing over illegal Bangladeshis staying in India, Daula said that the army is prepared to intervene if the government issues such instructions.

'The BGB handles the issue effectively. However, the army is prepared to step in if needed or upon government instruction. Regardless, the situation is not something we consider acceptable," Daula was quoted as saying by The Dhaka Tribune.
Earlier on May 18, Bangladesh Home Affairs Adviser Lieutenant General Md Jahangir Alam Chowdhury (Retired) had said that if any Bangladeshi immigrant was staying illegally in India, they should be repatriated through proper channels. Additionally, he said that Indians found staying illegally would be repatriated through proper diplomatic channels.
Bangladesh does not engage in 'push-ins like India but believes in resolving issues through diplomacy", Chowdhury said as quoted by The Dhaka Tribune.
'The Ministry of Foreign Affairs has already written to India regarding the matter. Foreign Affairs Adviser Touhid Hossain and National Security Adviser and Chief Adviser's High Representative on Rohingya Affairs Khalilur Rahman are maintaining diplomatic communication on the issue," he said as quoted by the news outlet.

Controlled blasts by pvt co trigger panic in Bahraich
Lucknow: Controlled explosions by a private company in agricultural fields for a seismic survey triggered panic in parts of Mahsi tehsil in Bahraich on Saturday. The blasts were allegedly carried out without informing the local administration, police, or elected representatives. The operation, linked to Mission Anveshan, a govt of India project to identify hydrocarbon potential in onshore sedimentary basins, was being carried out by Hyderabad-based Alpha Geo India Ltd. The firm is tasked with conducting 2D seismic surveys across seven basins under the directive of ministry of petroleum. However, villagers panicked when they saw cables being laid and blast preparations underway. BJP MLA from Mahsi, Sureshwar Singh, rushed to the site and confronted officials. "This is a serious breach of protocol. Explosives were being used just two days before the Chief Minister's scheduled visit to the district, without a word to the DM, SP, or even gram pradhans. I've spoken to home secretary Sanjay Prasad and urged that the CM's visit be deferred until a thorough inquiry is completed," he said. Bahraich ADM Gaurav Ranjan confirmed that the local administration was not informed. An engineer of the company claimed they obtained permission from the district collector in Feb. ASP, Bahraich, DP Tiwari said a probe was being conducted.

From Chenab bridge to Madrid stage, a tale of languages that travel, unite and sometimes provoke

At times, simple and short words can be potentially more impactful in conveying powerful messages. All these were easily noticed over the last week or so when phrases of two public figures from Tamil Nadu gained traction. In fact, the speed with which their utterances spread was faster than the time taken by Vande Bharat Express to cross the Chenab bridge, an engineering marvel. But there the similarity ends. If actor-politician Kamal Haasan was intending to lay emphasis on some kind of familial relationship between Tamil and Kannada by his remark that 'Kannada was born out of Tamil', he ended up having a 'Thug Life' image in Karnataka and his movie shunted into the sidings. On the other side of the world was a questioner in Spain who was perhaps yearning for quite a bit of thrill when he asked DMK leader Kanimozhi about India's national language, but her reply that 'the national language of India is unity in diversity' must have derailed the enquirer's train of thoughts off its rails. With her riposte, the member of Parliament signalled that she was in Madrid to guard Indian interests against any type of onslaught, including on languages which, like junctions, intersect and influence each other before reaching their respective platforms. The gist of the two episodes is that, like people, languages travel far and wide and even to space, helping bridge the gulf, just like the Chenab bridge, which became possible only after people from all corners of India joined hands to conquer insurmountable challenges.
