David Beckham's public appeals to his eldest son Brooklyn Beckham seem to have fallen on deaf ears as he failed to acknowledge Father's Day. The football legend, 50, has been embroiled in a bitter family dispute with his 26 year old son and his wife Nicola Peltz, 30.
The Beckham family rift deepened when Brooklyn and Nicola didn't attend David's 50th birthday bash despite jetting into London from Los Angeles. Since then, Brooklyn appears to be showing his allegiance to his wife amid rumours that he's stopped replying to messages from his famous family.
Brooklyn didn't publicly recognise David's much-anticipated knighthood on Friday and has now overlooked Father's Day. For a family who frequently use social media to share heartfelt personal messages, Brooklyn's silence could speak volumes.
His younger brothers Romeo and Cruz led the tributes to David on this special day. Cruz posted a photo of him relaxing in the sun with his sports star dad, captioning the post: " Happy Father's Day, I love you x."
Meanwhile, Romeo shared two photos of him and his father. One was a childhood picture with David, which he simply captioned: "love you.", reports the Mirror.
David himself posted a public message to his children, seemingly hinting at the ongoing feud. He wrote: "My most important and favourite job in life is being a dad... I'm so proud of all of you and like daddy (sorry boys) tells you every single day I will always be here for you no matter what..
"Mummy thank you for doing the most important part and making me a father there is no greater gift in life than making me a dad... Happy Father's Day... I love you kiddies more than you could imagine."
Throughout the day, David shared a series of nostalgic snaps of his family, expressing his deep pride in being a father. Despite tagging all his offspring in these heartfelt posts, he noticeably received no public acknowledgement from Brooklyn.
Over on her end, Nicola paid a touching tribute to her own father on the special day, opting not to extend the same public sentiment to her father-in-law. She posted an affectionate selection of photographs through the years with her father Nelson, accompanied by a heartfelt message.
Nicola penned: "Happy Father's Day to the greatest dad in the world I am so lucky to be your daughter I love you more than you will ever know. Thank you for always being my constant support I love you beyond words. Happy Father's Day dad."
Brooklyn recently displayed a tattoo that hinted at his strong emotional ties, potentially highlighting his allegiances. The ink, positioned on Brooklyn's upper back, immortalises a note penned by Nicola, 30, precluding their nuptials in April 2022.
The thoughtful note is etched in an exquisite script: "My forever boy. Read this anytime you feel anxious. I want you to know how deeply loved you are. You have the kindest heart I've ever met and hope I never go a day without your love. I think you are so incredible. Just know we can get through it all together if you breathe slow and trust. I love you beyond. Love always, your future wifey."

Bruce Willis dementia update as daughter Rumer says 'I have a pain in my heart'

Die Hard star Bruce Willis' daughter, Rumer, paid tribute to her dad on Father's Day following his heartbreaking dementia diagnosis in 2023, which left his legion of loyal fans in shock Bruce Willis' eldest daughter, Rumer, admitted she had a 'deep ache in her chest' as she paid tribute to her dad on Father's Day. The Die Hard star, 70, is being cared for by his family after his devastating dementia diagnosis in February 2023, which left his legion of loyal fans in shock. Rumer often posts snaps of her dad, who she adores, on Instagram, and on Sunday told Bruce she felt "lucky" that he was her father. However, sharing a montage of photos of the pair, including a recent black and white image in which she hugs the actor tightly, she admitted she wished she'd asked the star "more questions" about his "successes and struggles" while she could. ‌ ‌ Captioning the post, she wrote: "Today is hard, I feel a deep ache in my chest to talk to you and tell you everything I'm doing and what's going on in my life. To hug you and ask you about life and your stories and struggles and successes. I wish I asked you more questions while you could still tell me about it all." Rumer continued: "But I know you wouldn't want me to be sad today so I'll try to just be grateful reminding myself how lucky I am that you're my dad and that you're still with me and I can still hold you and hug you and kiss your cheek and rub your head I can tell you stories." Revealing Bruce's close bond with her daughter, Louetta, the mum-of-one concluded: "I can watch the way your eyes light up when you see Louetta I will be grateful for every moment I have with you. I love you so much dad, happy Father's Day. Sending love to all those who are in the boat with me or have lost their fathers." Hollywood A-lister, Bruce, is known for his iconic action-packed roles in movies such as Die Hard, Red and Glass. However, the star's life is very different now after stepping away from the spotlight. Towards the end of his career, he was due to star in one of his last action roles, Out Of Death. The star had a huge part in the film, however it was suddenly made smaller, with director, Mike Burns, writing in an email to the screenwriter: "We need to abbreviate his dialogue a bit so that there are no monologues, etc." ‌ We now know Bruce had been diagnosed with aphasia, with the then 67-year-old's family later revealing the star would be retiring from acting. The cognitive disorder affects a person's ability to speak, understand, read and write. The following year, in February 2023, it was confirmed that Bruce's condition had progressed and that he had a definitive diagnosis of frontotemporal dementia, aka FTD. FTD is a progressive brain disease, which causes parts of the brain to stop working and deteriorate over time. Depending on where it starts in the brain, the condition affects behaviour as well as the ability to speak and understand others. ‌ In an October 2024 interview with Town & Country, Bruce's wife, Emma Heming Willis, revealed that her husband's language had changed. However, the actor had a childhood stutter and Emma initially assumed the sudden changes in his speech were to do with that. 'As his language started changing, it (seemed like it) was just a part of a stutter, it was just Bruce. Never in a million years would I think it would be a form of dementia for someone so young,' she said. ‌ Adding that she didn't know if Bruce was aware of his condition or not, Emma, who recently posted a video supporting National Caregivers Day, said: 'I say that FTD whispers, it doesn't shout. It's hard for me to say, 'This is where Bruce ended, and this is where his disease started to take over''. Meanwhile, Bruce's youngest daughter Talullah heartbreakingly revealed that her dad finds it so difficult to communicate, she knew he would never be able to make a Father of the Bride speech at her wedding. Opening up about the painful revelation, Tallulah said the family initially thought Bruce's behaviour was down to hearing loss from all the explosions on the set of Die Hard before telling Vogue magazine: 'Later that unresponsiveness broadened, and I sometimes took it personally. He had had two babies with my stepmother, Emma Heming Willis, and I thought he'd lost interest in me." Tallulah finally realised her father's health was declining when she was at a wedding and the father of the bride gave a heartfelt speech. She shared: "Suddenly I realised that I would never get that moment, my dad speaking about me in adulthood at my wedding. It was devastating,' she recalled. 'I left the dinner table, stepped outside, and wept in the bushes.'

'I left husband and kids for mud hut with my Kenyan toyboy - but things soon turned sour'

'I left husband and kids for mud hut with my Kenyan toyboy - but things soon turned sour' Cheryl Thomasgood, now 65, left her husband and three children to be with a Maasai warrior in Kenya, but says the romance was a disaster and she still regrets it Cheryl and Daniel wed wearing traditional Masai clothing A woman who abandoned her husband and three children to start a relationship with a Maasai warrior in Kenya has spoken out about her regrets and the emotional impact of that period in her life. Now 65 and living peacefully in a coastal town in Somerset, Cheryl Thomasgood has broken her silence more than three decades after her story gained global attention. ‌ Her choice to swap her comfortable suburban existence on the Isle of Wight for the remote Samburu region of Kenya in 1994 was motivated, she now admits, by a desire for spiritual healing and an escape from personal trauma. ‌ Cheryl was 34 when she met Daniel Lekimencho, a Maasai warrior who performed traditional dances for tourists at the Bamburi Beach Hotel in Mombasa, Kenya. Captivated by his charm and the appeal of a completely different lifestyle, she ended her marriage to her second husband, Mike and left their three children behind to begin a new life in Kenya with Daniel, who was ten years her junior, reports the Mirror. Cheryl met Daniel on a package holiday to Kenya (Image: YouTube ) Article continues below Cheryl fully embraced Daniel's world - living in a mud hut, cooking over open fires, and adopting aspects of Maasai culture, including a diet of cabbage and cow's blood. However, as time passed, the stark differences between their backgrounds and expectations started to put pressure on the relationship. In 1995, the couple made their way back to the UK, tying the knot on Valentine's Day in traditional Maasai attire and setting up home on the Isle of Wight with Cheryl's children. They later welcomed a daughter, Mitsi, now 27. However, Cheryl recounts that the idyllic life they envisioned began to crumble swiftly. Daniel, who was once deeply rooted in Maasai spirituality and tradition, allegedly shifted his focus towards material wealth and status. ‌ "I felt like I was just a meal ticket," Cheryl confided to MailOnline. "I made a huge mistake, and I have a lot of regrets - especially about how it affected my children." Cheryl said Daniel's Maasai heritage meant the couple had big cultural differences (stock photo) (Image: Yellow Dog Productions via Getty Images ) Cheryl describes how Daniel's aspirations grew to include a larger house, designer clothes, and sending money back to relatives in Kenya. Their arguments became frequent, and the spiritual bond they once cherished dissipated. ‌ According to Cheryl, the only moments Daniel seemed happy were when he was performing his traditional Maasai dance in the garden. "He would say that he was getting ready for battle and wanted to jump as high as an elephant. The kids loved it, but it got on my nerves after a while." Cheryl suggests that cultural differences and the challenges of adapting to British society played a significant role in their separation in 1999, a mere four years following their wedding and just one year after their child Mitsi was born. She admits that part of her drive to remain in the marriage was to defy the sceptics. ‌ When they met, Cheryl was dealing with childhood trauma and an unhappy marriage. Upon the advice of a choir friend, she travelled to Kenya seeking solace. Daniel with the couple's daughter Misti (Image: EX ) However, Cheryl found that the relationship acted merely as a brief respite rather than a cure. ‌ She confessed: "The biggest regret of all was the impact on my children. Daniel tried, but he couldn't be the father they needed. They missed out on having a stable male figure." Now, Cheryl has reconciled with her history and maintains strong bonds with her four children: Steve, aged 43, Tommy, 41, Chloe, 34, and Mitsi, 27. Mitsi, she reflects, was "the one good thing" to emerge from her time with Daniel. Despite the turmoil, Cheryl has no intentions of remarrying. She quipped: "Three marriages were enough," dubbing them a "hat-trick of disasters." Article continues below The mum urged anyone pursuing a holiday romance to "be careful" as you could end up "regretting it for the rest of your life". Daniel has stayed in the UK after their split and now works in a supermarket on the Isle of Wight.
