Days of Our Lives Recap: Bo Reunites With His Family
Days of Our Lives Recap: Bo Reunites With His Family originally appeared on Daytime Confidential. On today's Days of Our Lives recap: Hospital/Recovery Center: Hope walks Bo into the sitting area and he can't believe he's been out for two years and she stayed by his side. He suddenly has a memory and says how sorry he is for what he did to her, Kayla and everyone (For those who don't remember, Bo was acting like Victor and was quite menacing, which is why Shawn Douglas shot him). Hope says everything is forgiven and begins kissing him all over his face. Ciara Alice and Shawn Douglas are standing in Bo's room. She can't believe his recovery happened so quickly. Ciara thanks her brother for securing the serum. Shawn D notes he worked with Kayla, Steve and John. They both hope John will continue to recover. Ciara walks out when Shawn Douglas gets a call from Kayla. He updates his aunt on his dad's condition when Kayla clearly tells him about John's death. Ciara walks into the sitting area and freaks out a bit to find her parents kissing. They tell her to join, and Bo is so excited to see his grown-up daughter. They embrace and exchange I love yous. Ciara says she has a little boy and girl and wants him to meet them soon. Further, she says she and Ben have been traveling the world on a boat just like they did. Bo says he's going to have to meet Ben and make sure he's worthy of his daughter (Oh Lord…). Ciara says he's a great guy and a good father (and a former serial killer, but whatever). Just then, Shawn Douglas joins the party. Shawn Douglas hugs his father and he says he feels so blessed to have his family around him. Shawn D asks what he remembers about what happened to him. Bo says he remembers having cancer and being on death's door. Shawn D says he shot him and has been haunted by it ever since. Bo stops his son and says he has nothing to be sorry for. He remembers what happened and knows he was only doing what was necessary to protect his mother. Bo says the one person responsible is Megan Hathaway (can she come back, please?) and Hope agrees. Bo pulls his son close and says how proud he is to be Shawn D's father. They pass around croissants and Ciara says Chelsea will be stopping by soon with her baby. Bo is stunned to learn he has four grandchildren, in total. He asks about Claire and Shawn D says she is working as a public relations specialist in South Africa with Theo Carver. Bo is rightfully surprised until Ciara provides a few more details. He moves along to Belle and Shawn D says they are divorced but are friends. He realizes how much he has missed and asks about all the news from Salem. Hope tells Bo about Kimberly and says Shane indicated they found her cancer in time and should recover after treatment. Bo wants to go visit her and then shifts to asking about his other family, including Philip and Brady. Hope says Philip is still sparring for control of Titan but with someone new, Xander Cook. Bo remembers him as one of Victor's henchmen, but they explain he is now the co-CEO of Titan and is also his half-brother. It doesn't truly surprise him to learn Victor had yet another child. He asks about Victor, and they carefully tell him about his father's passing. Bo can't believe someone so indestructible could be gone. He learns about the plane crash and asks how Maggie is holding up. Hope says she's doing ok with the support of the family. He freaks out a bit because he never got the chance to tell Victor he loved him or to say goodbye. Hope tries to comfort him but realizes there's more bad news to give and tells him about Doug. He collapses in tears and says how sorry he is. Bo says he's so sorry he wasn't there and knows how much he loved his princess. Ciara leaves and returns with her children, Addie and Bo. She says she's been telling them about their grandfather their whole lives. Little Bo says hi to his grandpa and he heads over to give him a hug and sit in his lap (adorable). Johnny and Chanel's Apartment: Chanel says Carrie just called and reports his Grandpa John died. Johnny can't believe his grandpa is gone. He says he doesn't think he lived up to his name but Chanel shuts that mess down, saying he is brave with a heart of gold. Further, she notes John absolutely adored him. Johnny says he needs to get over to his grandmother's place and Chanel heads out with him. Salem Inn – Paul and Andrew's Room: Andrew arrives and immediately embraces a distraught Paul. He thinks the whole situation is unfair as his dad was so close to being home with Marlena. Andrew says John lived and died as a hero and is responsible for saving Bo's life. Paul understands everything Andrew is saying but wishes, this once, he hadn't played the hero. Paul says his dad was getting better and can't believe everything went down hill so quickly. Andrew knows that makes the situation much worse. Paul wants to get over to Marlena's place to make sure they give her support. Andrew thinks they should stay put so he can be Paul's rock. Horton Square: Marlena walks through the square and takes a seat by Tom and Alice's plaque. Flashback: Marlena remembers one of her weddings to John. In real-time, she says how much she misses John already. Marlena and John's Penthouse: Carrie, Will and Eric are gathering food from the neighbors. They wonder where Marlena is and Carrie says she wasn't there when she arrived this morning. Will gets a call from his mother saying Sydney broke her arm and collar bone. She has to have surgery which means neither of them will be in Salem for the funeral. Just then, Marlena walks in and says she went out to inform John's dad about his passing. Will says they could have gone with her but she says she has to learn to do things on her own. Carrie hugs her and says she doesn't have to worry about being alone. Marlena bypasses her comments and starts looking for thank you notes to write to all the people who brought food. Will and Eric says they will handle it and want her to take care of herself. Marlena says she has some arrangements to make and excuses herself to the bedroom. Marlena returns with information about John's wishes for his funeral (which they put together after Doug passed). John wanted a reception at the Brady Pub and Carrie says she and Will will take care of it. With that, they hug Marlena and exit. Eric asks if his mother wants to rest but she thinks she simply wants to sit with him. He says he loves his mother and wants to know if it would help to talk. Marlena agrees and talks about what it was like when she first met John. She immediately knew he would risk his life for the people he loved. She says Bo was like his brother and Eric says they were brothers. Marlena gets weepy and says 'there's never enough time' when someone is your everything. Just then, Johnny and Chanel arrive. Johnny asks about his mother and Eric lets him know why she and Sydney won't make it. Marlena hopes Sami can find peace as John was the man who raised her. She turns to Johnny and says she hopes he can find peace with his own father, as well. Johnny says today is about her and Grandpa John, his namesake. Johnny hopes he can make him proud. Marlena assures him that he always made John proud. Marlena tells Eric that his Uncle Bo is on the mend. She says she's happy for everyone, but wonders if their family's miracle came at John's expense. She wonders if she's being terrible but Eric says she's simply being human. Marlena says John risked his life to save Bo and notes what an extraordinary man he is… was. Horton Square: Carrie and Will run into Paul and Andrew. They all embrace and discuss their relationships to John. Andrew says they were talking about all the adventures their fathers went on together and what a great team they made. Carrie wonders if anyone would have ever dreamed the sons of great ISA agents would one day fall head over heels in love. Endings Johnny and Chanel return home. He was on the phone with Alex who told him to take as much time as he needs to deal with John's death. Chanel promises to be with him every step of the way. Johnny thanks her for loving him and they kiss. Ciara Alice wants to get Bo and Addie back to the hotel and Shawn Douglas agrees to go with them so their dad can rest. They all embrace and agree to see each other later in the day. Bo and Hope take a seat and he admits to being a little overwhelmed but is basically is thankful for having his family around him. He is thrilled to say the one thing that hasn't changed is his love for her. With that, they kiss. Carrie, Will, Paul and Andrew return to Marlena's penthouse. She's so glad to see Paul and Andrew. Paul says the love John had for her was everything. He knows she's aware but Marlena is very clearly touched by his words. Andrew thanks Eric for offering to be the officiant at their wedding but says they have put it off indefinitely. Marlena begs them to have their ceremony in Salem before they go. Paul and Andrew agree to do it in honor of John. Hope looks at pictures of Bo when Shawn Douglas returns. They embrace in excitement over Bo's recovery. Shawn D asks where his father is and Hope says he's back in his room. He takes the opportunity to tell her John died. Keep checking back for the latest Days of Our Lives recaps!
