Weather report today: Delhi likely to receive heavy showers as IMD issues yellow alert; Rains expected in Ahmedabad, Pune

Several regions across the country are expected to receive heavy rains including Delhi, Gujarat, Maharashtra on Thursday, according to the India Meteorological Department's daily bulletin.
The national weather agency in its daily bulletin said that the Southwest Monsoon has further advanced over some more parts of North Arabian Sea, remaining parts of Gujarat, some parts of Rajasthan, some more parts of Madhya Pradesh, some parts of East Uttar Pradesh, remaining parts of Chhattisgarh and Jharkhand, and some more parts of Bihar.
Delhi-NCR regions:
Bringing relief from heatwave conditions, the national weather agency expects the sky is Delhi to remain cloudy, with light to moderate rain or thunderstorms likely, accompanied by lightning. Gusty winds with speeds ranging from 40 to 50 kmph are forecast, which may temporarily strengthen to around 60 kmph during thunderstorms, particularly towards the evening and night hours.

Delhi is likely to see cloudy skies with the possibility of light to moderate rain in some areas on Thursday, according to India Meteorological Department (IMD). Delhi may also witness thunderstorm and lightning on Thursday with gusty winds of speed upto 40–50 kmph, that could temporarily reach 60 kmph towards night. This comes as a relief from the heatwave conditions Delhi experience last week. The weather department has predicted relief from heatwave conditions till Tuesday, June 4. Similar weather conditions may continue in Delhi on Friday too, with generally cloudy sky and very light to light rainfall. The maximum temperature in the national capital on Wednesday touched 34.2 degrees Celsius, which is 4.6 notches below normal, and the minimum temperature settled at 24.2 degrees Celsius, which is 3.3 degrees below normal.
