15-year-old motorcyclist killed in Petra Jaya accident

KUCHING (May 20): A 15-year-old motorcyclist died after his motorcycle skidded and crashed on Jalan Tun Haji Abdul Rahman Yaakub in Petra Jaya, here on Sunday.
Kuching police chief ACP Alexson Naga Chabu said the preliminary investigation at the scene revealed that the victim was riding alone and somehow lost control of the motorcycle, which veered off to the left shoulder of the road.
'The incident occurred at around 1.30am as the motorcycle was heading from the Samariang roundabout towards the Sesco roundabout,' he said in a statement.
The victim was pronounced dead while receiving emergency treatment at Sarawak General Hospital.
The case is being investigated under Section 41(1) of the Road Transport Act 1987 for reckless or dangerous driving resulting in death.

IPOH: A police sergeant was killed while on his way home to Kedah after the motorcycle he was riding skidded at Kilometre 253.7 of the North-South Expressway (NSE) northbound near Kuala Kangsar yesterday.
