Ministry of Health ensures full medical readiness for the last ten days of Ramadan
KUWAIT CITY, March 22: Minister of Health Dr. Ahmad Al-Awadhi convened an expanded meeting with relevant medical teams to discuss and approve preparations for mosques and prayer halls during the last ten days of Ramadan, a period marked by a significant influx of worshippers. The meeting was attended by key officials, including Assistant Undersecretary for Medical Support Services Dr. Abdullah Al-Fars, Ministry of Health Spokesperson Dr. Abdullah Al-Sanad, Director of the Medical Emergency Department Dr. Ahmed Al-Shatti, Ambulance Supervisor Abdullah Al-Nafees, and Head of the Emergency Departments Council Dr. Fatima Al-Kandari.
During the meeting, the Minister was briefed on the comprehensive medical emergency plan for the last ten days of Ramadan. The plan aims to enhance medical preparedness and ensure the provision of high-quality health services, ensuring quick responses to emergency health cases and the safety of worshippers.
In a statement, the Ministry of Health emphasized its ongoing cooperation with the Ministry of Endowments and Islamic Affairs to identify mosques with high worshipper density. Coordination with the Ministry of Interior has also been established to ensure smooth traffic flow and facilitate the swift arrival of ambulances.
The Ministry has identified 22 mosques across the country's governorates as high-density areas. These mosques have been equipped with fully stocked field clinics, ambulances, and trained medical personnel. A total of 21 ambulances, 120 medical specialists, and 18 permanent clinics have been designated for these selected locations.
At the Grand Mosque, four fully equipped field clinics for both men and women have been set up, including an emergency center with medical beds to handle urgent cases. Four ambulances have been stationed at the mosque's main entrances, along with 22 medical personnel who are part of the support and supply teams.
Minister Al-Awadhi praised the efforts of the medical and administrative teams, urging them to maintain high levels of preparedness, continuously enhance readiness, and ensure that all necessary medical supplies and equipment are in place to provide a rapid and effective response to emergencies. The goal is to ensure the safety and comfort of worshippers during these blessed days of Ramadan.
