"No one had helped him at the time, but maybe she did," he said. The family found the man outside his locked apartment. He denied knowing the girl's location. The family grew suspicious and insisted on searching his apartment. The man said he needed to get the keys from another location and was accompanied by the girl's 12-year-old cousin. When neither returned, the family broke open the lock. "When we opened it, we were shocked to find our girl stuffed inside, barely breathing," the uncle said. The family rushed her to several hospitals, but she did not survive. The street has limited CCTV coverage. A case has been registered under sections 103 (murder), 66 (punishment for causing death or resulting in persistent vegetative state of victim) and 6 of the POCSO Act . The area has increased security and barricaded roads.
