Mega Career Fair coming to Fort Cavazos
FORT CAVAZOS, Texas (FOX 44) – Looking for a job? Fort Cavazos is the place to be!
The Fort Cavazos Transition Assistance Program will host its winter 2025 Mega Career Fair from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. Tuesday at the Lone Star Conference Center, located at 24th Street and Wainwright Drive. This event is open to transitioning soldiers, veterans, retirees, their spouses, DA civilians and members of the local community.
The Fort Cavazos Mega Job Fair features local, state, national and international employers and government agencies representing employment opportunities across the nation and overseas.

Private parking operator agrees to pay Vt. $150,000 over 'misleading citations'
MONTPELIER, Vt. (ABC22/FOX44) – A Maine-based private parking operator has agreed to pay Vermont roughly $150,000 after the company issued 'citations' without governmental authority to do so, Attorney General Charity Clark announced. Unified Parking Partners runs about 27 private parking areas in various parts of the state. UPP reportedly sent 'citations' to consumers over the course of four years, between 2020 and 2024. If unpaid, UPP alleged that 'citations' could impact license renewal, credit rating and more. In a release, Attorney General Clark and her office said that 'thousands' of consumers paid off these fines, and that UPP does not have the proper authority to impact consumer credit. Officers search for suspect in golf-cart theft An investigation was conducted regarding UPP's possible Consumer Protection Act violations, and they have agreed to change 'misleading parking notices' in addition to paying the fine. The company must also stop using term 'carrying any consequence it has no lawfulauthority to make,' according to an excerpt from the settlement agreement. Such language includes the terms 'citation' and 'fine'. Attorney General Clark said she is 'pleased that this company has agreed to stop its misrepresentations.' 'Companies have a right to charge for services rendered, but not to trick consumers into paying out of fear that disputing a charge could come with consequences the company has no power to impose. The message to commercial actors is that words matter and misrepresentations carry consequences. I'm pleased that this company has agreed to stop its misrepresentations.' Vermont's State Treasurer joins finance class at Winooski High School
WINOOSKI, Vt. (ABC22/FOX44) – Winooski finance students finished off their year managing money by meeting the state's top money manager. Vermont State Treasurer Mike Pieciak attended a personal finance class at Winooski High School taught by Courtney Poquette, as he did in 2023 and 2024. He was first elected in November 2022. Pieciak wrote in a Facebook post, 'Too many Vermonters grow up without learning how to manage their money. At Winooski High School, Ms. Poquette's personal finance course is filling that gap – helping her students make better decisions that will pay dividends in the future. 'It's proof of the impact a great teacher can have, especially for those who don't learn these skills at home or in their community.' Vermont musicians tune up for international Make Music Day Courtney Poquette's personal finance course has been previously covered by ABC22/FOX44. The class, which is required for students in Winooski but not in most of Vermont, helps students learn about making good purchasing decisions and common business practices among other things. Pieciak was born in Brattleboro and now lives in Winooski with his partner.
