Wedlock at age of 13: In Haryana's Jind, 3 child marriages stopped in 33 days
Jind: Three child marriages were foiled over a period of just 33 days in Haryana's Jind district, said an official on Tuesday.
The last such marriage was stopped on Sunday, when the district administration and an NGO stopped the wedlock of an 18-year-old boy and a 16-year-old girl.

The other two marriages were stopped at Brahmanwas village on April 30, where the groom's age was 20 and the bride was 17, and at Kharak Gadia village on May 12, where the groom's age was 18 and the bride was 13.
In the case on Sunday, it came to light that preparations were underway, and the groom's procession was ready to proceed for the bride's house in Narnaund town of Hisar district, when officials intervened. TZeam members informed the groom's mother, a widow, and guests about the provisions of Child Marriage Act, 2006.
For some time, the mother tried to mislead the team by showing birth certificates of her son, but after a strict warning from the team members, she produced certificates which revealed that he was three years younger than the marriageable age. After this, the birth certificate of the bride was sought on WhatsApp. After verifying documents, it was found the bride was 16 years old.
In the case which took place on April 30, the boy had been selected for a govt job in the postal department and the bride's father was poor.
Due to his financial condition, he arranged the marriage of his younger daughter along with his elder daughter on the same day to save on marriage expenses.
In the case on Sunday, the groom's mother told the police that she was illiterate and did not know about the provisions of Child Marriage Act, 2006, said Surender Singh Mann, head of MDD, an NGO involved with the district administration in stopping all three marriages.

ED Kolkata arrests two in connection with online betting, gambling racket
The Directorate of Enforcement (ED), Kolkata Zonal Office arrested two persons during their search operations across West Bengal, Delhi, Bihar, Uttar Pradesh and Assam, in connection to an alleged betting and gambling racket through online games. Two persons named Vishal Bhardwaj alias Badal Bharadwaj, and Sonu Kumar Thakur, were arrested under Section 19 of the Prevention of Money Laundering Act (PMLA), 2002 and remanded to 10 days custody by the Hon'ble Special Court (PMLA), Calcutta, according to a June 5 statement by the ED. The case is linked to a First Information Report lodged by West Bengal's Siliguri Police Commissionerate under various sections of Indian Penal Code, 1860 and West Bengal Gambling and Prize Competitions Act, 1957. In the chargesheet, the accused were shown to be absconders, the ED statement read. In connection to this alleged racket, the ED also froze 766 mule bank accounts and 17 debit and credit cards, and seized several incriminating documents and digital devices, according to a statement by the investigating agency. 'The modus operandi includes opening of mule bank accounts (saving, current and corporate accounts) by recruiting people to act as money mules in exchange of money paid either as a one-time basis or on a recurring monthly basis, depending on the nature and utility of the account,' the ED said in its statement. It added that the scamsters allegedly persuaded people to contact through WhatsApp numbers for betting and gambling in different games like IPL, ISL, T20 World Cup, Online Rummy, Online Casino, etc. The statement further mentioned that the mule bank accounts are allegedly intended for the specific purpose of the collection and subsequent layering of funds generated through illegal online betting and gambling through websites and Telegram channels. The account holders allegedly could not control or access the accounts. Further investigation is in progress, the investigating agency said.

Contribute Now New Delhi: Following the stampede in Bengaluru which led to the death of 11 people, the city police arrested a top official of the Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB) franchise and three persons from the event management company who had organised the victory celebrations after the team had won the Indian Premier League (IPL). The arrests were made after Karnataka Chief Minister Siddaramaiah suspended city police commissioner B. Dayananda and directed police to arrest RCB and the Karnataka State Cricket Association (KSCA) for the stampede, reported The Hindu. How Thane Techie Spied For Pakistan's ISI, Shared Info On Indian Warships
Mumbai: A week after a 27-year-old man from Maharashtra was arrested in an alleged espionage case, it has now emerged how he spied for his Pakistani agents and the information that he shared with them. Ravi, a mechanical engineer based in Thane, had shared intelligence about Indian warships and submarines with his Pakistani handler. He had provided inputs about 14 Navy ships, out of which the inputs about five ships were accurate. For this, he received money from Pakistan's spy agency Inter-Services Intelligence (ISI), the police said. Ravi was "honey-trapped" by a Pakistani agent who had befriended him on Facebook, posing as a woman, officials had earlier said. He was found sharing sensitive information with the Pakistani operative through WhatsApp, officials said. Based on a tip-off, he was arrested on May 29 by the Thane unit of the Anti-Terrorism Squad. He has been charged with criminal conspiracy and relevant sections of the Official Secrets Act. Two others who were taken into custody along with him were left off after an inquiry. Indian agencies had heightened surveillance in the aftermath of the Pahalgam terror attack and the subsequent India-Pakistan tensions. Over a dozen men and women have been arrested on charges of sharing sensitive information with Pakistani intelligence operatives. This includes two influencers, travel vlogger Jyoti Malhotra and YouTuber Jasbir Singh. Both had over a million subscribers on YouTube and had travelled to Pakistan multiple times. They are currently being probed. A student from Punjab and a security guard from Haryana are among others who face charges of leaking classified information across the border.
