Lady Gaga tickets flogged for £30,000 minutes after Singapore tour presale opens
Scalpers allegedly started reselling tickets for Lady Gaga 's upcoming concerts in Singapore at steep markups barely minutes after the presale opened on Tuesday, leaving fans frustrated.
The pop star performs at Singapore 's National Stadium on 18, 19, 21, and 24 May as part of her Mayhem world tour. It is her only stop in Asia.
Presale for Mastercard holders opened today. General sales begin on 21 March.
According to official ticketing platform Ticketmaster, prices range from £114 to £283. VIP packages are priced between £499 and £1038.
Fans shared their challenges with long ticket queues, with one claiming to be behind three million people, while local media reported the queue surpassed a million within 10 minutes of the presale opening.
But the real challenge fans were to face took place elsewhere as resellers turned to sites such as Carousell, Viagogo and StubHub to list their tickets at exorbitant prices, sparking outrage from eager concertgoers.
The Independent found multiple tickets available on online marketplace Carousell, starting at £144 and going to £1,503.
The Straits Times found VIP tickets selling for between £23,100 and £29,943 before they were removed from the website.
Tickets were also available on the resale site Viagogo, selling for between £114 and £1,873. On Stubhub, the prices ranged from £122 to £2,118.
Singaporean media reported noticing tickets go for over £9,000 on Viagogo and Stubhub.
Fans who managed to secure tickets were able to do so only after waiting hours in queue.
'I joined the waiting room at 8am and got my tickets only at 11.10am. It was stressful, the page was loading so slowly, and I had to refresh just to get in,' Zulkynaen Muhammad, 29, who paid around £222 each for two tickets, told The Straits Times.
'It was extreme madness. I was in the queue since 9.30am and got kicked out a few times. Thankfully I got my hands on them and I know my 14-year-old self is happy,' said Lisa M, who paid around £207 for each ticket.
Another fan who was only able to get one VIP ticket for about £515 said it was 'pricey' but worth it. 'Money can always come back. I have been her fan since 'Poker Face' came out in 2008,' Khairul A said.
'The last time she came, in 2012, I was too young to go and, now, I have adult money. I am still in shock that I managed to secure tickets.'
Lady Gaga was last in the country 13 years ago during her Born This Way Ball tour with a three-night stint at the Singapore Indoor Stadium.
Before that, she took the stage at Fort Canning Park in 2009 and delivered two exclusive showcase performances for local telco Singtel — one at Clarke Quay that same year and another at Marina Bay Sands in 2011.
The musician released her sixth studio album, Mayhem, on 7 March to generally favourable reviews. The Independent 's Helen Brown described the album as a 'return of your Mama Monster to all her shock-horror-bop glory' in her five-star review.

WorldPride is the largest LGBTQ+ festival in the world and will kick off June's internationally recognized Pride Month. Per TMZ, Shakira responded by saying, 'I have been counting the days, excited to be reunited with my fans in both Washington and Boston, and my team and I have made every effort to make it happen, but it doesn't depend on any one of us right now, and I am devastated that these shows were just not possible this time. 'DON'T you see, baby, this is perfection?' Shakira sings in front of a 65,000-strong crowd at Miami's Hard Rock Stadium. As she wiggles her bum and gives the audience a cheeky grin, it is hard to disagree with the Colombian superstar. 10 10 10 Two decades after she first sang that line from Hips Don't Lie, she is reaching incredible new heights — and it has now been confirmed that hers is the biggest female tour of 2025 so far, by both box office takings and ticket sales. Outselling Beyonce and Lady Gaga, Shakira has hit a new stride in the five years since she last performed at the Florida venue for her Super Bowl halftime show with Jennifer Lopez, which for many artists is considered the pinnacle of their career. But now she is having the best time on the road with her Las Mujeres Ya No Lloran tour — translated as Women No Longer Cry — which is why she invited me, Bizarre's Howell, out to Miami where she lives with her two sons. Shakira took me backstage for a UK newspaper exclusive at the first of two sold-out shows on Friday. After her performance, I couldn't help but tell her how much I'm looking forward to her long- rumoured UK dates next year. But Shakira balances her own turmoil with fun and froth — with a whopping 14 outfits on show. For her second song, the catchy Black Eyed Peas collaboration Girl Like Me, she unzips her jacket to show a silver vest top, which she then tears off to reveal a glittery pink mini dress. There is a sea of lights across the stadium as fans wave their light-up wristbands in unison. And Shakira pulls on everything from sparkly bodysuits to ball gowns and bra tops. I'm told it took ten months to design the show, and given the attention to detail you can see why. At 48, Shakira seems to have discovered the elixir of life, because she looks and moves like someone half her age. By the halfway point of the concert, temperatures are 30C and I have sweat running down my face. Yet Shakira, who is marking three decades since her first headline concert, is running across the stage and twerking without so much as a moist brow. In fact, she looks even fitter and healthier than when she first became a household name in the UK in the early-Noughties. She is in tip-top form for this tour, which kicked off in February and Shakira describes as her 'most ambitious'. She is constantly working out and has two physiotherapists with her on the road. And I can attest that her backstage catering area, where I had dinner before the show, has plenty of healthy options including grilled red snapper, Peruvian chicken and cauliflower steak. A significant part of the show features Spanish-language songs, which have sometimes held the singer back in the UK, given most of us Brits can barely understand a word. Tender moment But as more and more non- English acts gain traction here in Blighty — such as K-Pop stars BTS and Blackpink and Spanish-speaking rapper Bad Bunny — now is her time. At the show she is joined by two special guests: Puerto Rican singer Ozuna, to perform their song Monotonia together for the first time, and Spanish Alejandro Sanz for the danceable La Tortura. During Soltera she pole- dances on a giant letter S before changing the pace for the piano-driven ballad Ultima, which she sings atop a mound of diamonds. When the tour does eventually come to our shores, it is bound to be the English language tunes that keep the audience on their feet. There's an understated rendition of her 2002 belter Underneath Your Clothes, a traditional dance with knives for her megahit Whenever Wherever, and a mass howl-along for She-Wolf, complete by a gigantic wolf image that towers over the audience. Then she throws an on-stage, multi- coloured carnival for 2010 smash-hit World Cup anthem, Waka Waka (This Time For Africa). One surprising omission from the setlist is Beautiful Liar, her 2006 collaboration with Beyonce, which topped the charts here. But in a tender moment, Shakira reveals it was her fellow artist's 2023 Renaissance tour that inspired her to organise her own. Shakira, whose North American dates were upgraded from arenas to stadiums due to overwhelming demand, explains: 'To see this place this packed, it's a dream for me. It's surreal. Cynthia Erivo and The Vivienne among ‘LGBT+ changemakers' in 2025 Pride List
The Independent's Pride List for 2025 also includes retired Olympic diver Tom Daley, actor Bella Ramsey, artist David Hockney, comedian Joe Lycett and author Juno Dawson. Erivo, 38, who won a Gay & Lesbian Alliance Against Defamation (Glaad) Award earlier in the year, was placed at number four on the top 10 list while The Vivienne, the drag alter-ego of the late James Lee Williams, is seventh. The Vivienne attending the National Television Awards 2020 (Isabel Infantes/PA) The Vivienne, who won the first series of RuPaul's Drag Race UK and spoke publicly about prejudices faced by LGBT+ people and by the drag community, died in January at the age of 32 and is a posthumous inclusion on the list. Topping the 2025 Pride List is Victoria McCloud, a lawyer, former judge and transgender woman who announced she would take the Government to the European Court of Human Rights over the Supreme Court's ruling on the definition of a woman. Dr McCloud said: 'I'm delighted and honoured that The Independent has included me in its Pride List this year. 'In 2025, more than ever before, amidst increasing oppression and segregation at home, with court and state against us, people from the trans community yearn to be bathed in rainbow light. 'These are uniquely dark times but we will challenge those who wish to marginalise us, be they Government or activists with money and the odd mega-yacht to spare. 'We have been here for centuries; we will be here for centuries to come. The quiet majority walk with us.' In April the UK's highest court unanimously ruled that the terms woman and sex in the Equality Act 'refer to a biological woman and biological sex'.
