Kids, you either love 'em, hate 'em, or think they're OK. I think kids are fine, especially the ones that can chew my ear off about their special interests. Yes I want to know about your favorite dinosaur and don't skimp on the roar recreations! But what really captures my heart is a kid who loves cars.
Some of you have kids and are lucky enough to share your passion with them and have it stick. I asked about what kind of cars get your kids excited, and you delivered with some interesting answers. You can find them below.

KTM 450: Signed Kurt Caselli poster from when he was racing WORCS for KTM. When he died in Baja, my kid was shattered. Interests have moved on over the years, but the poster still has a place of honor on his door.

I got my oldest in a printed issue of Motor Trend when he was young, Ed Loh even sent him a care package so he can continue his fascination with cars. No poster on the wall, but I think I did my part.

My collage age son's dream car is a Toyota Prius Prime or a Toyota minivan (The name of which I can neither remember nor spell). What have I done?

No posters (yet), but my 10yo daughter is very curious about manual transmissions. She sees me drive from the back seat and wants to know why my car "works different from mommy's".

I had a poster of a Ferrari 360 Challenge Stradale that I got from the scholastic book fair on my wall from age like 7 until I moved out of my parents ar 24 years old. I still love that car, maybe its just a nostalgia factor

Because of me, both of my daughters have developed a thing for motorcycles. Despite the fact I crashed and tore my ACL during the rider safety course (I locked the brakes during a drill). Also, one kid now has a thing for Corvettes and the other one said she wants a Porsche 911 GT3. Both of them are teenagers.

My kids mostly want animals or pictures with friends on their walls. My daughter's dream car is a purple Hellcat though, so I could probably talk her into putting up one of those. My son has been more difficult to figure out. He and his friends all get really excited when they see a Tesla (there were ~5 Cyber trucks entered into the pinewood derby), but he doesn't want a Tesla hot wheel/toy. My best bet at getting a car on his wall right now would probably be one of Bumblebee.

My daughter has two, both of them are hand drawn and fantastic. One is a Subaru WRX STI, which was my car so I'll take credit for that. The other is a group B Audi Sport Quattro

GMC Hummer EV Quietly Loses Apple CarPlay For 2026

The latest car news, reviews, and features. GM wasn't kidding around, it has no interest in an Apple CarPlay future, at least not in its EVs. Buried in the 2026 GMC Hummer EV fleet vehicle order guides is a nugget of news that the hulking electric SUV and truck will lose wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto support. Pour one out for smartphone mirroring and actual Apple Music onscreen interface usage. The Drive reached out to GM for comment and will update this story if or when we hear back. The GMC Hummer EV launched for the 2022 model year at the tail end of 2021. The SUV variant arrived in 2023. Both versions launched with wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto. The end was in sight not long after. In 2023, just two months after the SUV model went into production, GM announced its new EVs would not have Apple CarPlay and Android Auto starting in 2024. Predictably, consumers were not amused and the people want Apple CarPlay and Android Auto. GM has claimed all along this is about the user experience and not having to flip in and out of various interfaces. It's the same argument Rivian and Tesla have used throughout, through, notably, those two automakers have eschewed the usage of buttons and have almost all controls locked into the onscreen interface. It's a key difference. Also different: Both Tesla and Rivian have natively integrated the Apple Music app, among others while not relying on the Google Play store. At the time of the announcement in 2023, then Executive Director of Digital Cockpit Experience Mike Hermiche told Reuters, 'we have a lot of new driver assistance features coming that are more tightly coupled with navigation.' Hermiche also said, 'we don't want to design these features in a way that are dependent on a person having a cellphone.' To date, these features had yet to appear. For 2026 GM's Super Cruiser hands-free driver-assist system is said to integrate with Google Maps to navigate the correct lane for a chosen route . GM's latest infotainment systems run on Android Automotive OS, which also has the Google Store built in for native apps such as Spotify and Pandora. The system also features built-in navigation via Google Maps. Bluetooth streaming works, but is a mess with Apple Music. The rollout of moving away from Apple CarPlay has been a little messy. The Hummer EVs launched with CarPlay as did the Cadillac Lyriq, the latter of which we don't know what 2026 will bring, yet. While the Lyriq's cousins, the Chevrolet Blazer EV and Equinox EV arrived without CarPlay, ironically, the Honda Prologue and Acura ZDX, both of which are reskinned Blazer and Lyriq twins, launched with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto. Consumers wanted CarPlay in their Blazer EV so badly an aftermarket solution was whipped up. GM claimed it was 'unauthorized' and 'could affect critical safety features.' The automaker shut the retrofit kit down. The 2026 GMC Hummer will lose the CarPlay and Android Auto, but it's gaining King Crab mode, which GM said all Hummer EVs will get thanks to an over-the-air software update. The King Crab model is said to turn the rear wheel faster than the front wheels for extra maneuverability in tight spaces. Though, this will only be standard on the 2X and 3X trims. The new Carbon Fiber Edition Pickup is even quicker then the already quick Hummer EVs thanks to revised software dropping the 0-60 mph sprint to 2.8 seconds. Got a tip? Send us a note: tips@

Have you seen this car?

Donald Trump's red Tesla was not seen on the White House grounds on Tuesday. Trump bought a red Tesla Model S in March. Trump and Elon Musk have been going through a very public spat. Donald Trump may be erasing one very public sign of Elon Musk's White House tenure. Trump's red Tesla Model S was not in its usual spot on the White House grounds on Tuesday, ABC News's Jonathan Karl wrote on X. Monday afternoon, hours before the car's apparent absence was noticed, Trump said that he might move the vehicle amid his very public spat with Musk, the man who once called himself Trump's "First Buddy." "I may move the Tesla around a little bit, but I don't think we'll be doing that with Starlink," he told reporters. "It's a good service." Trump didn't say where he might move it. "I have a lot of locations," he said. "I had so many locations that I don't know what to do with them all." The president could have had the car moved to one of his properties, including his private golf club near the nation's capital. Trump and his allies have criticized Musk after the world's richest man refused to back down from his call to kill "The One Big Beautiful Bill," the centerpiece of the president's domestic agenda. Musk retorted by alleging that Trump is blocking the release of the so-called "Epstein Files" because of his ties to the disgraced financier Jeffrey Epstein. Trump bought the Tesla in March at a White House event aimed at bucking up Musk's flagship company as backlash mounted to the billionaire's work with the White House's DOGE office. At the time, a handful of top administration officials made public moves to boost Tesla as its share prices tanked amid protests at dealerships and a rise in trade-ins of its popular EVs. Following last week's high-profile spat, a White House official said Trump was considering selling the car. A White House spokesperson did not immediately respond to a request for comment from Business Insider. Read the original article on Business Insider

Top Analyst Cuts Tesla to 'Hold' as Robotaxi Optimism Faces Scrutiny

June 10- Robert W. Baird analyst Ben Kallo downgraded Tesla (NASDAQ:TSLA) to a "Hold" rating from "Buy". Kallo maintained his price target of $320 per share. This marks the analyst's first downgrade for the electric vehicle maker in three years. Kallo cited concerns over "heightened expectations" surrounding Tesla's upcoming robotaxi launch event. He also highlighted potential "key-man risk" related to CEO Elon Musk's activities and associations. The analyst noted TSLA stock has surged over 20% since first-quarter results, likely reflecting existing optimism about the robotaxi and a more affordable vehicle. The analyst expressed skepticism about the projected speed of the robotaxi service rollout, describing it as potentially "a bit too optimistic." Tesla was recently listed by Austin, Texas, authorities as being in the "testing" phase for autonomous vehicles. Competitor Waymo is listed in the "deployment" phase in the same city. Kallo's decision also factored in increased competition, potential changes to vehicle delivery timelines, and the gradual reduction of electric vehicle tax credits. Despite the downgrade, Tesla shares rose about 3% in pre-market trading on Tuesday. This movement coincided with the apparent easing of tensions between Musk and former President Donald Trump, who recently confirmed continued use of Tesla products.
