SREENIVASA REDDY (ABU DHABI)Even as the first Harrow International School prepares to commence operations in Abu Dhabi on Saadiyat Island, a second campus is already on its way—this time in Dubai.The new Harrow School will be located on Dubai's Hessa Street, close to Dubai Marina, Palm Jumeirah and Emirates Hills, according to a statement from Taaleem Holdings, which holds the exclusive rights to own and operate Harrow International Schools across the GCC.'The school will span a 50,000sqm plot, offering state-of-the-art infrastructure designed to support practical and immersive learning,' the statement said. The announcement follows initial approvals granted by the Knowledge and Human Development Authority (KHDA), the regulatory body for private schools in Dubai.Founded in 1572 under a Royal Charter from Queen Elizabeth I, Harrow School enjoys a global reputation for academic excellence, a wide range of extracurricular activities, and a strong emphasis on leadership.'Harrow Dubai will build on this legacy, offering the prestigious British curriculum in line with Harrow's high standards, with adjustments to reflect the region's culture and values,' the statement added.The campus will initially welcome students from Early Years to Year 6, with plans for gradual expansion to accommodate up to 2,000 pupils. Applications are expected to open in September 2025, with the school becoming fully operational by 2026. Harrow Dubai will feature state-of-the-art facilities designed to provide an outstanding educational experience.'The campus, designed by the renowned KODA architects, will include purpose-built classrooms, sports and arts facilities, and leadership programmes that embody Harrow's core values and standards,' a stock market disclosure by Taaleem Holdings said.The demand for super-premium schools has been rising in the UAE, fuelled by a steady influx of high-net-worth individuals. Recently, GEMS Education launched a $100 million school in Dubai to cater to this segment, which was dubbed the most expensive school in the UAE by international media.Commenting on the occasion, British Ambassador to the UAE, Edward Hobart, said: 'The opening of Harrow Dubai, the second Harrow in the UAE under the Taaleem umbrella, marks a significant milestone in the expansion of both Harrow's and Taaleem's commitment to educational excellence. This new chapter highlights the growing educational ties between the UK and the UAE and reinforces our shared vision for nurturing the next generation of leaders.'Khalid Al Tayer, Chairman of Taaleem, said: 'Harrow has a long-established reputation for excellence, and through our collaboration with Harrow International Schools Limited, we are proud to bring the same values-driven education to Dubai that has shaped generations of leaders.'Mel Mrowiec, Chairman of Harrow International Schools Limited, added: 'The launch of Harrow International School Dubai represents a significant milestone in our plans to give more students in GCC countries access to a Harrow education.'Taaleem Holdings is a leading K-12 premium education provider in the UAE with a portfolio of 38 schools and is listed on the Dubai Financial Market (DFM).

SREENIVASA REDDY (ABU DHABI)Harrison Street, a leading global investment management firm specialising in alternative real assets, has formally expanded into the Middle East with the launch of a new office at the Abu Dhabi Global Market (ADGM).The firm has secured a Financial Services Permission (FSP) from the Financial Services Regulatory Authority (FSRA) of ADGM, enabling it to provide regulated services from its Abu Dhabi base. Headquartered in Chicago and London, Harrison Street also maintains offices across North America, Europe and Asia.'This strategic initiative aims to bolster Harrison Street's ability to advise and collaborate with investors in the Middle East,' the company said in a statement. 'This comes at a time when regional investors increasingly seek economic diversification and a broader range of international investment opportunities, including global real assets exposure.'The new office will be led by Hadi Nasser, who joined Harrison Street in March 2024 as Managing Director and Head of Investor Relations – Middle East. Nasser, who has nearly two decades of experience in capital raising and advisory roles across Europe and the Middle East, previously held roles at Rockpoint and EnTrust Global. The move highlights ISP's continued investment in the education sector across the region. Smart Vision School is located in Al Barsha and is known for its inclusive and family-oriented environment. With this acquisition, ISP's portfolio has now grown to 11 schools across the UAE and Qatar. ISP now operates six schools in Dubai, two in Abu Dhabi, and three in Doha. The group owns more than 100 schools across 25 countries worldwide. Founded in 2014, Smart Vision School follows the British Curriculum. It currently serves students from Foundation Stage (FS) to Year 8. The school is recognized for its personalised and enquiry-based approach to learning. ISP reported that the school's educational philosophy aligns closely with its Learning-First ethos. Kam Bhamra, Regional Managing Director for ISP Middle East, said the school's values reflect those of ISP and will enhance the school community. Tracey Scott, Principal of Smart Vision School, expressed excitement about joining the ISP family. She revealed that the acquisition will help expand the school's offerings, improve facilities, and deliver a world-class education. This marks Smart Vision School as the eighth ISP institution in the UAE. It joins several ISP schools in the Middle East, including: The Aquila School, Nibras International School, Star International School (Al Twar and Mirdif), and The English College in Dubai Aspen Heights British School and Reach British School in Abu Dhabi The Hamilton International School, Park House English School, and Durham School for Girls in Qatar ISP has also revealed plans to develop Smart Vision School's infrastructure. This includes expanding the building to add a secondary section and creating specialised learning areas. The aim is to extend the school to cover FS through to Year 13. ISP also announced that educators will benefit from professional development opportunities through its global network of over 14,000 staff. These include peer-led training and access to learning communities. Students will also gain access to ISP's unique Learning Opportunities and an enriched curriculum.

SREENIVASA REDDY (ABU DHABI) ADNOC Distribution has demonstrated significant strides in its Environmental, Social, and Governance (ESG) agenda throughout 2024, as outlined in its comprehensive annual ESG report submitted to the Abu Dhabi Securities Exchange (ADX). This report not only highlights the company's progress but also underscores its commitment to sustainability as a fundamental aspect of its long-term strategy, signalling an ambition to lead the energy sector's transition towards a lower-carbon future. The year 2024 was marked by a series of tangible achievements across its six sustainability pillars, reflecting a dedication to transparency and stakeholder the realm of Climate, Emissions, & Energy, ADNOC Distribution achieved notable success with 100% of its UAE fleet operating on biofuels, leading to a substantial annual emissions reduction. All energy supplied for electric vehicle (EV) chargers is now derived from clean and renewables-based sources, with significant solar photovoltaic energy (5,083 MWh PV) generated from service station rooftops in Abu Dhabi and Dubai. The company also expanded its EV charging network to 220 fast and super-fast chargers and launched the second phase of its H₂GO pilot green hydrogen refuelling station. For the Local Environment, initiatives included planting over 25,000 mangrove seeds and collecting more than 5.8 million bottles through Reverse Vending Machines, alongside recording zero negative impacts on biodiversity and consistently conducting HSE impact company's Economic and Social Contribution saw it achieve a 71.4% In-Country Value contribution, alongside reporting its highest EBITDA since IPO at Dh3.86 billion and revenues of Dh35.45 billion. Investment in CSR initiatives was substantial, and the expansion of retail fuel infrastructure continued. Significant progress was made in Workforce Diversity and Development, with ADNOC Distribution employing a diverse workforce of 77 nationalities and increasing women's representation across various management and STEM roles. The Emiratisation rate surpassed 62%, and extensive training, wellbeing initiatives, and ESG awareness programmes were delivered to employees. Under Health, Safety, & Security, the company maintained an impressive safety record with zero fatalities and high-consequence work-related injuries, implementing fatigue management systems and conducting numerous HSE audits. Lastly, in Business Sustainability, an ESG Subcommittee was established at the Board level to embed sustainability into strategic decision-making. The company also secured ISO 22241 certification for ADNOC Blue, successfully met KPIs under its sustainability-linked loan, and enhanced its ESG ratings, leading to inclusion in prestigious ESG-linked company's leadership emphasised the strategic significance of these accomplishments. Eng. Bader Saeed Al Lamki, Chief Executive Officer, ADNOC Distribution, expressed his pride in the "remarkable strides ADNOC Distribution has made in our ongoing commitment to sustainability, innovation, and responsible growth." He specifically highlighted the expansion of the EV charging network, which quadrupled its reach, stating: "This expansion supports the UAE's transition to cleaner energy and makes sustainable mobility more accessible than ever." Paula Disberry, Chairwoman of the ESG Subcommittee, ADNOC Distribution, articulated her belief that "sustainability is not just a responsibility—it is an opportunity to drive long-term value for our stakeholders." She underscored that 2024 was "a pivotal year for ADNOC Distribution's ESG agenda,' marked by the establishment of the ESG Subcommittee to integrate risks, opportunities, and stakeholder expectations into business strategies. Athmane Benzerroug, Chief Strategy, Transformation, and Sustainability Officer, ADNOC Distribution, confirmed the company's advanced sustainability efforts "with a heightened sense of responsibility and a clear path forward.' He detailed the decarbonisation roadmap, aiming to reduce carbon intensity by 25% by 2030 and accelerate Net Zero by 2045, further adding, "Our focus on sustainable energy has reached new heights with the successful expansion of our hydrogen infrastructure."
