Wyndham Clark reportedly damages lockers in Oakmont clubhouse at 2025 U.S. Open
Wyndham Clark reportedly damages lockers in Oakmont clubhouse at 2025 U.S. Open Wyndham Clark seemingly finds himself in hot water yet again for the second straight major championship. After apologizing for his behavior late in the 2025 PGA Championship, Clark is taking more heat for alleged damage he caused to lockers inside the famed clubhouse at Oakmont Country Club, site of the 2025 U.S. Open. Clark, the 2023 U.S. Open champion who missed the cut by a shot after shooting consecutive 4-over 74s on Thursday and Friday, allegedly took his frustrations out in the locker room after a bogey on the final hole resulted in him missing the weekend. Golfweek attempted to contact Clark about the alleged incident but was unable to reach him as of 10:45 a.m. ET. Last month, Clark damaged a T-Mobile sign during the final round of the PGA Championship, prompting him to apologize on social media the next day. "I promise to better the way I handle my frustrations on the course going forward, and hope you all can forgive me in due time," Clark wrote on social media. Since finishing T-5 at the Texas Children's Houston Open, Clark has made eight starts but his best finish is T-27. He has missed only two cuts after this week, but he hasn't finished better than T-50 in nearly two months. Those frustrations reportedly boiled over at Oakmont, and he was far from the only golfer to express frustration throughout the week. Rory McIlroy, the Masters champion and world No. 2, threw a golf club and smashed a tee marker during Friday's second round. Golfweek's Adam Schupak contributed to this story.
