May's Flower Moon Brings Clarity and Transformation—Here's What It Means for Your Zodiac Sign
May's full moon is all about the clarity we need to move forward.
This year, the Flower Moon is in the sign of mysterious and seductive Scorpio, so we can expect plenty of intrigue.
The fixed signs, Scorpio, Taurus, Leo, and Aquarius, will be most impacted by this moon. Each year, the full flower moon arrives to remind us that we must let go of old baggage in order for new life to bloom. Named for the flowers springing forth this time of year, May's full moon is all about the clarity we need to move forward, as well as the practical matters that need handling in order to do so.
This year, the flower moon is in the sign of mysterious and seductive Scorpio, so we can expect plenty of intrigue. And as a sign associated with the powers of the underworld, we should all be prepared for the harsh realities Scorpio can reveal, as well.
The full flower moon is set to reach its peak illumination at 12:56 p.m. EDT, on Monday, May 12th. Ahead, we dive deep into what this full moon in Scorpio represents astrologically, how to work with this energy, as well as what all 12 zodiac signs can expect.
The upcoming full moon, known as the flower moon, was named for the wildflowers that bloom across the Northern Hemisphere in springtime, astrology and human design expert, Amy Lea, explains. 'The name comes from Native American traditions, honouring the natural rhythms of the land and the springtime season that brings renewal and blossoming,' she says.
And in Scorpio, notes astrology expert and author of Astrology SOS, Imani Quinn, this full moon could feel extra intense. We might be releasing or surrendering more than usual, she says, adding, 'It could mean truths and secrets being revealed, true feelings coming to light, and deep internal transformations happening.'
Speaking of secrets being revealed, don't underestimate the power of Scorpio's oh-so-scrutinizing magnifying glass. Full moons shed light on what's been hidden to begin with, Lea explains, clarifying our path and revealing what requires attention. Meanwhile, Scorpio's favorite pastime is sleuthing, potentially dredging up more of our shadow side than we care to face.
According to Lea, this Scorpio full moon links back to the Scorpio new moon just six months ago, so think of this full moon as the halfway point in a larger cycle. She suggests asking yourself what intentions, desires, or transformations were beginning to stir back then, as well as reflecting on how far you've come, what you've learned about yourself, and where you're being asked to switch gears.
'Scorpio governs the underworld of our experience of personal power. It speaks to hidden layers, unspoken truths, and things we feel but rarely say aloud,' she adds. That said, according to her, this full moon may stir emotions or insights around everything from personal power and energetic sovereignty, to boundaries, intimacy, trust, and transformation.
The signs that tend to be the most affected by certain lunations are the signs that have the same modality as the sign the moon is in. (Signs of the same modality form clashing angles on the zodiac wheel, in case you're wondering why.) As such, Lea explains, the fixed signs will be most impacted by this moon, which are Scorpio (fixed water), Taurus (fixed earth), Leo (fixed fire), and Aquarius (fixed air).
Leo adds that the two other water signs—Cancer and Pisces—will also likely feel this one more intensely, given they share their emotionally sensitive water element with Scorpio. If you have any of these signs as your sun, moon, and/or rising, consider yourself warned.
Now, let's get into what your zodiac sign can expect under this flower moon. Be sure to check your sun and rising sign.
With the flower moon in your eighth house of transformation, intimacy, and vulnerability, you might be feeling more exposed than usual. And according to Quinn, this full moon invites you to get real with yourself, unlock your truest desires, and allow yourself to have a true rebirth. She suggests asking yourself, What needs to die within you in order for your desires to live?
Your closest relationships could be under scrutiny right now, as this potent flower moon in Scorpio revs up your seventh house of partnerships and long-term commitment. According to Quinn, in fact, your relationships are coming in with extra revelations. 'This full moon, look out for unexpected news from loved ones or even news you may share yourself,' she says, adding, 'Changes of heart may be on the horizon.'
You're known for being a social sign, but right now, this Scorpio spotlight is encouraging you to slow down and tend to yourself. As the flower moon makes its way through your sixth house of self-care and habits, Quinn says, it's time to look at where you have let yourself go. It will feel impossible to ignore now, so make sure you're being honest with yourself about your needs, and that way you can show up as your best self, she adds.
Feeling passionate, Cancer? If not, what's stopping you? That is the question under this flower moon, as your fifth house of creativity and self expression gets a healthy dose of self-assessment. With Scorpio at the helm, Quinn explains, this is a moment to assess where you're not being truthful with yourself when it comes to your passions, as well as what you want and love. 'Express it so that it can manifest for you,' she adds.
If you've been itching to make a change in your living situation, this moon is your chance to do it. The flower moon in Scorpio is making waves in your fourth house of family and home, according to Quinn, and as such, you're looking at how your home life aligns with your fullest potential. This could look like anything from a change in decor, to a change in roommates, to a change in your address all together. Your move!
Your words could hold extra weight right now, so get clear on what it is you actually want to say. As the powerful Scorpio full moon transits your third house of communication, Quinn notes, you're being encouraged to speak your truth. 'If not now, then when?' she asks, adding that this is the time for you to say what's on your heart and mind. 'If you are looking for change in your life, it starts with you.'
This flower moon in watchdog Scorpio could have you assessing your finances. It's moving through your second house of possessions, money, and material security, which Quinn notes is the perfect push you need to get your money right. Whether you double-down on your budget or let go of an investment, 'Take a close look at your spending habits, make sure they're lining up with your goals, and adjust accordingly,' she says.
With the flower moon in your sign, the spotlight is on you—and your first house of self image and identity. As such, according to Quinn, this is your time to shine. 'Be your most authentic self and everything else will fall into place as it should,' she says, adding, 'You've never been afraid of a rebirth, so be open to the unexpected changes it could bring your way.'
You could feel especially introspective—even somber—under these Scorpio skies. The flower moon transits your 12th house, which deals with the subconscious, as well as spirituality, illusion, and closure. According to Quinn, you might be surprised by yourself, as well as what your dreams and subconscious beliefs have been telling you. 'Pay close attention to the internal shifts that want to happen,' she adds.
Things could be changing in your social circle, as this full flower moon in Scorpio makes its way into your 11th house of networking and larger community. For one thing, Quinn says, you may be finding out who your true friends are this season, as quiet intentions start to shift (whether their yours or others). Your main prerogative? Simply to let yourself grow and evolve, and you'll find your tribe, she notes.
If things at work have needed a bit of a shakeup, now's the time to do it. The flower moon is shining a spotlight on your 10th house of career and public image, so consider this your invitation to stop playing small. 'Be honest with yourself about what you want in work,' Quinn suggests, adding, 'It may be time to ask to take lead on that project you want or that raise you deserve.'
Where are you holding yourself back from dreaming bigger? As the flower moon peaks in your ninth house of travel, growth, and higher education, anything inhibiting your own expansion will feel front-and-center right now. Whatever it may be, Quinn says, traveling or picking up a new course can help you rediscover yourself. ' It may be time to allow the unexpected to take you to new heights,' she adds.

Jonathan Joss murder investigators consider whether actor's sexual orientation played a role. Here's what to know.
Tributes pour in for actor Jonathan Joss after shooting at San Antonio home | What's Trending Tributes pour in for actor Jonathan Joss after shooting at San Antonio home | What's Trending Tributes pour in for actor Jonathan Joss after shooting at San Antonio home | What's Trending While it remains unclear what prompted the fatal shooting of Jonathan Joss, a Native American voice actor best known for his work on the animated television series "King of the Hill," police say they are looking into whether his sexual orientation played a role in his death. Joss' husband has claimed it was a hate crime, saying the person who killed the actor yelled "violent homophobic slurs" before opening fire. Initially, San Antonio police said they found "no evidence whatsoever to indicate that Mr. Joss' murder was related to his sexual orientation." But on Thursday, San Antonio Police Chief William McManus walked back that statement, saying it had been made prematurely and whether Joss' sexual orientation played a role in the shooting "is part of the investigation." In this image taken from video, Jonathan Joss, an actor best known for his voice work on the animated television series "King of the Hill," talks to reporters following a fire at his San Antonio, Texas, home on Thursday, Jan. 23, 2025. KSAT via AP Since Joss' killing, friends, actors Joss worked with and fans have honored the actor's memory with tributes and fond remembrances. Here's what to know about Joss, his career and his shooting: Who was Joss? Joss, 59, grew up in San Antonio and graduated from the communications and theater program at Our Lady of the Lake University in 1990. Joss was best known as the voice of John Redcorn, a Native American character on the popular "King of the Hill" animated series, which ran for 13 seasons from 1997 to 2008. A reboot of the show, which Joss had already worked on, is set to start in August. Joss also had a recurring role on the television show "Parks and Recreation," playing Chief Ken Hotate. He appeared in two episodes of the series "Tulsa King" in 2022. What was Joss doing in the months before his death? Joss' childhood home, where he still lived, burned down in January. He lost all his belongings, and his three dogs were killed in the blaze. A GoFundMe account had been set up to help Joss and his husband, Tristan Kern de Gonzales, get back on their feet. "We may have lost our home, but not our hope. We're moving forward with love, humor, and a little elbow grease … and we're incredibly grateful for every ounce of support," Joss said in a May 14 Facebook post in which he indicated he was in Los Angeles looking for a new home. By the end of May, Joss was back in Texas, and on Saturday, he took part in a live music performance in Austin, located about 80 miles northeast of San Antonio. Who is accused of fatally shooting Joss? Sigfredo Ceja Alvarez, 56, is accused by police of confronting Joss and his husband as they were checking their mail at the burned-down home Sunday night. In a statement, de Gonzales alleged that when Ceja Alvarez opened fire, Joss pushed his husband out of the way and saved his life. When police arrived, officers found Joss lying near the roadway, police said in a statement. CBS affiliate KENS-TV reported Joss had been shot multiple times. Ceja Alvarez was charged with murder. He is free on a $200,000 bond. KENS-TV captured video of Alvarez walking out of the Bexar County Jail on Wednesday afternoon after posting bond. Candles, flowers, and notes make up make-shift memorial for voice actor Jonathan Joss who was recently killed, Tuesday, June 3, 2025, in San Antonio. Eric Gay / AP Ceja Alvarez's attorney, Alfonso Otero, has not returned multiple calls or emails seeking comment. Robert Rios, a friend of Joss', told TV station KSAT that Joss and Ceja Alvarez were neighbors and the two had argued for years. McManus said police had been called to Joss' home and his neighborhood about 70 times over the past two years related to "neighborhood type disturbances" and that sometimes Joss made those calls and other times neighbors had called to report Joss. How is Joss being remembered by friends, actors? Actor Chris Pratt, who worked with Joss on "Parks and Recreation," fondly remembered the actor in an Instagram story on Monday. Both actors had also appeared in the 2016 remake of "The Magnificent Seven." "Damn. RIP Jonathan. Always such a kind dude," Pratt wrote. "Sad to see. Prayers up. Hug your loved ones." Nick Offerman, who also worked with Joss on the show, told People in a statement that the heartbroken cast had been "texting together about it all day." "Jonathan was such a sweet guy and we loved having him as our Chief Ken Hotate," Offerman said. "A terrible tragedy." In a Facebook post, San Antonio-based Our Lady of the Lake University, Joss' alma mater, called him "a trailblazer in his field. His work and advocacy have left a lasting impact, and his legacy will continue to inspire." "His voice will be missed at King of the Hill, and we extend our deepest condolences to Jonathan's friends and family," the show's creators and producers - Mike Judge, Greg Daniels and Saladin Patterson - said in a statement on the animated series' Instagram page.

Days of Our Lives Recap: How Does Cat Know Sami? originally appeared on Daytime Confidential. On today's Days of Our Lives recap: The Spectator: Chad arrives as Leo works on John Black's obituary. Leo suddenly remembers today is the day of Chad's skydiving date with Cat. He is terrified which sends Leo into one of his stories, which does Chad no good. They discuss the feelings Cat had for Chad and Leo wonders if she's still holding on to hope. He suggests Chad cancel the date for both their sakes. Leo is on the phone with the copy editor talking about the integrity of his work when Jack walks in and gets snarky. Leo says a lot has changed since Jack has been gone. He is now a legitimate journalist. Jack knows and says Leo is doing a good job with his work. Leo is thrilled by the compliment and Jack notes he is quite the asset to the paper. The mood changes when Jack says Leo's mother must be proud. Jack knows Diana has changed so much since she sold him The Spectator. Leo stops him as he remembers Jack blackmailed his mother into the 'sale.' Jack smiles as he knows Leo speaks the truth. He wonders if Diana knows her son is a reporter at the paper which was once hers. Leo thought about going by the prison to tell his mother about John but can't deal with the drama and abuse. Jack recalls Diana making him think John was his father. Leo says he should have known a man like John couldn't have been his father. Jack says they are not defined by their parents. It takes courage to change, and Jack says he has it in droves. Leo thanks Jack for his kind words. Before he leaves, he asks if Jack has heard from Gwen. They both admit they haven't, and Jack seems genuinely pained she is still in the wind. Leo leaves a message for Marlena to say how sorry he is about John's passing. Just then, young Douglas arrives. Leo says he's had no time to track down Julie's necklace. Doug says he's had no luck with Melinda. That being said, the necklace is the least of his problems as his life is imploding. Hernandez House: Gabi finds a distraught Arianna Grace not eating her food. She just can't get over the death of her Grandpa John. She just saw her dad who is not thrilled with her living under the same roof as Leo Stark. Arianna goes on to say how strange and kind of sweet it is that Leo keeps giving her Celine Dion cds, as if she ever owned a cd player. Gabi just thinks he is trying to make an effort. Gabi brings up her daughter's disappearing act and the two begin to fight. Just then, Rafe returns and embraces his niece. Rafe has returned early from FBI training to attend John's funeral. Arianna Grace leaves and Gabi fills Rafe in on her daughter's shenanigans. He thinks she's making a mountain out of a mole hill. Gabi worries she no longer knows her own daughter. With that, Rafe embraces his sister. They switch to talking about Rafe's new job which leads him to mention the stolen memory stick. He reminds his sister that the memory stick would most likely reveal EJ's shooter. Gabi thinks it's obvious Leo is the culprit. Rafe wonders what Leo has to gain from stealing the memory stick. Gabi thinks it's obviously a tool for blackmail. Rafe gets it but wonders why he isn't using it and is still pointing the finger at her. He thinks Leo is actually telling the truth, especially since he now fancies himself an investigative reporter. Gabi admits he probably couldn't pass up revealing the shooter in print. Rafe thinks it's time for him to tell Jada about the memory stick. Gabi worries he's not ready for that confrontation. He says this evidence is way more important than their relationship issues. He asks Gabi if she is 100% certain there is nothing that would incriminate her on the memory stick. Brady Pub: Young Douglas is on the phone with the loan shark goons because he has missed two payments. Just then, Holly arrives followed by Arianna Grace. Doug freaks out and heads back behind the bar. Arianna heads to the bar to get flirty with Doug when Holly approaches and hugs Arianna. Doug freaks out a bit as he realizes the two women in his life are very familiar with one another. Arianna Grace explains she returned home recently which turned out to be good timing as her grandfather just passed away. Holly freaks out when she realizes she's talking about John. Very quickly, she excuses herself and makes her exit. Young Douglas makes the connection in Holly and Arianna Grace's ages and questions how they met in a bar. She says she has a fake idea and then he nervously makes sure she is actually of legal age. He heaves a sigh of relief when he learns they slept together the night of her birthday. She says she would really like to see him again and Doug is totally on board. Outside, someone takes a picture of their encounter. With that, she makes her exit and Doug takes a 30-minute break. Marlena and John's Penthouse: Tate answers the door and doesn't recognize Cat. She introduces herself as Marlena's assistant. He knows all about her as Aaron is his bestie. She tries to explain but Tate says it's water under the bridge. Cat says how wonderful Marlena has been to her and wants to show her support. Just then, she sees a picture of Samantha Gene and notes just how familiar she seems. Cat crosses to the photograph and Tate says she is his Aunt Sami. Cat says maybe she just reminds her of someone else. She then sees a picture of John and she says they were in Poplar Bluff at the same time. She always wanted to thank him for helping with their mother and grandmother's escape. Tate notes he was a hero to a lot of people. Tate gets choked up and excuses himself. Left alone, Cat pulls the picture of John off the mantle and says how sorry she is. Tate is looking at a picture of his grandfather when Holly arrives. She says she just heard and embraces him. Holly wanted to make certain he was ok as she still cares about him. Tate is confused as he thought she was pretty cozy with young Douglas. Holly says they are just friends. He apologizes for what he did to Doug and says he misses her. Holly says his father sort of told her the same. The truth is she really missed him, too. Just then, Tate gets a text from Sophia who is on her way over. Horton House: Julie is ordering flowers or Marlea when Jack and Jennifer Rose arrive home. She embraces them both but wishes they hadn't returned for another sad occasion. Jack notes they have some good news to celebrate, and they discuss Bo's recovery. Jack decides to run over to The Spectator and heads out. Julie and Jennifer Rose take a seat. JRo asks how she's doing. Julie says her grief counseling with Marlena was going well until her wedding anniversary rolled around and Bo was dying and now, they've lost John. She has now begun to feel the grief all over again. JRo wants to support her, and Julie says how grateful she is for their arrival. Julie and JRo catch up on young Douglas and how she kicked him out. Julie says Doug was no angel himself, but he never lied to her. They chat about the necklace and JRo says she is using all of her contacts to try and locate the necklace. Just then, Julie gets a notification and says she promised Marlena she would pick up her dry cleaning before the funeral. She hates to leave JRo and says Chad will be home soon if he survived his skydiving date with Cat. JRo is rightfully surprised and annoyed by this turn of events. Horton Square: Cat and Chad meet up. She doesn't want him to do anything with which he is uncomfortable and is cool if he wants to back out. Chad says he is totally in as he thinks they should do something every day that scares them. They get all kinds of adorably cute with one another as they prepare to make the jump. Kat says after her accident she was in a deep depression and going skydiving made her feel alive again (I had totally forgotten about the accident. I wonder if that's the connection to Sami). Endings Tate apologizes saying they have a labor and delivery tour at the hospital. He asks Holly if they could continue their conversation another time. She agrees and they exchange kind words before she exits. Young Douglas tells Leo everything about Arianna Grace and Holly, as well as the loan shark who continues to harass him. Leo gets real and says he can pursue two women at the same time as long as they don't find out. Further, he needs to find a way to make some quick money as loan sharks are no joke. A photographer watches Arianna Grace and continues to take pictures. Gabi admits to going to the DiMera estate the night of the shooting but promises she didn't even see EJ that night. She only heard him arguing with someone. She wonders if the shooter actually broke into their home and took the evidence. Cat says they should head over to the airfield but Chad is stuck, until she pulls him away. Jennier Rose is furious about the Cat and Chad situation when Jack returns.
