Country star recovering after hospitalized for ‘not making sense' on stage

Ronnie McDowell is recovering after the country music star was hospitalized this weekend following an onstage medical event. McDowell was released from the hospital Monday after he began to slur his words and started 'not making sense' after a few songs while he was performing at the Summer Solstice Music Festival in Oley, Pennsylvania Saturday, WKRN reported. A tour manager told the outlet that McDowell reportedly thought he might have had a stroke. He was then brought to a hospital in Reading for treatment. 'I know you're all concerned. I promise — no one is more worried than I am," McDowell's son Tyler wrote in a Facebook post Saturday. 'Please understand, this is an incredibly stressful time, and right now, my focus is on my Dad. If there's anything that needs to be shared, I promise — we will." On Sunday, Tyler revealed his father underwent an MRI and that he and his brother, Ronnie Dean McDowell Jr., spent the day with Ronnie in the hospital before discharging him and taking him back to their home. 'Ronnie McDowell has been released to go home,' a Facebook post from guitarist. Greg Martin reads. 'I'm sure he'll be back out doing what he loves soon, Ronnie is a go-getter. Thanks for all the prayers!' With a career spanning nearly five decades, Ronnie McDowell has charted more than 30 top 40 hits on the Billboard country music charts. This transfer wide receiver could swing College Football Playoff hopes for Florida Gators

The vibes are high for the Florida football program heading into the 2025 campaign following its first winning season in four years and first bowl game victory since 2019. With Heisman Trophy hopeful DJ Lagway leading the charge under center, there is a lot to be optimistic about with this edition of the Gators. However, the sophomore gunslinger cannot do it all by himself, and following the departure of some of the team's top talent, Billy Napier and Co. put in a great deal of effort to reload the roster for another run through the gauntlet this fall. Among those added from the de facto free agency system, one player in particular stood out to CBS Sports' Chris Hummer, who recently put together his list of transfer portal additions who could swing College Football Playoff hopes for every post-spring top 25 team. That player was wide receiver J. Michael Sturdivant, who left the UCLA Bruins to join the 10th-ranked Orange and Blue this past offseason. "Florida didn't need a lot in the portal. But what the Gators aggressively targeted above all else was a big outside receiver who could replace the production of Elijhah Badger (39 catches, 806 yards, 20.7 ypc). That's what Sturdivant could bring to the offense. On paper he's an ideal fit at 6-3, 205 pounds," Hummer begins. "He showed the ability to be a field stretcher in 2023 with an average depth of target of 16 yards. But he regressed in 2024 with a career-low 22 catches and 315 yards," he continues. "Florida has plenty of weapons for DJ Lagway, but Sturdivant is a singular option on the outside among the roster's non-freshman receivers. If the Gators hope to reach their peak, Sturdivant needs to rediscover his 2023 form." Sturdivant played a full 13-game slate while starting in 10 in 2023, catching 36 passes for 597 yards and 4 touchdowns for the Bruins. In 2024, he appeared in 11 games with eight starts and saw a decline in his production, hauling in 22 catches for 315 yards and 2 touchdowns. Prior to UCLA, he spent two years with the Cal Golden Bears, taking a redshirt for his freshman campaign. Where Auburn football stands with Kaiden Prothro ahead of his July commitment date

One of Auburn's top targets is ready to commit. Are the Tigers still in the mix? One of Auburn's top targets is ready to commit. Is he still considering joining the Tigers' 2026 class? Kaiden Prothro, the nation's No. 2 tight end and No. 42 overall recruit, shared Monday that he will announce his commitment on Saturday, July 12. However, those searching for positive news regarding Auburn recruiting will have to look further, as Prothro did not include Auburn in his final three. According to Sam Spigelman of On3, Prothro is focusing on Florida, Georgia, and Texas ahead of his July commitment date. Which school has the edge? On3 recruiting experts Steve Wiltfong and Chad Simmons have logged a prediction that favors Georgia. Georgia has put in plenty of effort in recruiting Prothro, and he feels that he can achieve the dream of playing in the NFL if he signs with Georgia. 'Being able to see the charts from the other schools compared to Georgia and how they're putting guys in the league and how many tight ends coach (Todd) Hartley has put in the league and seeing that kind of stood out to me,' Prothro said in a recent interview with On3. Auburn football is holding on to five commitments for its 2026 class. After losing four-stars Shadarius Toodle, Devin Carter, and Jamichael Garrett over the last two weeks, Auburn now ranks No. 62 in On3's 2026 rankings and No. 74 in 247Sports' rankings. Hugh Freeze and his staff signed two tight ends last cycle-- Hollis Davidson and Ryan Ghea-- and is not in a tight race with any of the 26 tight ends that they have offered this cycle, so Freeze may need to turn to Davidson and Ghea as future tight ends once Brandon Frazier graduates after this season.
