Operation ‘March Badness' successful as Craven County cracks down on drugs
NEW BERN, N.C. (WNCT) — Over the last three months the Craven County Sheriff's Office made 35 arrests related to illegal drugs and weapons in what the officers called 'March Badness'.
The sheriff's office seized 338 grams of fentanyl and heroine, 114 grams of methamphetamine, 167 grams of cocaine, 20 dosage units of pills, and 14 illegal firearms.
'We're removing these dangerous items and criminals off the streets in Craven County,' Craven County Sheriff Chip Hughes said. 'Just making the place a safer place to live, work and raise our families.'
The Craven County Sheriff's Office encourages people to contact them or Crime Stoppers with any information related to these types of crimes.

NYPD investigating dad of missing 2-year-old Bronx boy
THE BRONX, N.Y. (PIX11) — Police are questioning the father of a missing 2-year-old Bronx boy who has not been seen in a month, according to the NYPD. The child, Montrell Williams, was last seen by his mom at 827 Hunts Point in the Bronx at around 10 p.m. on May 10, police said. The boy was wearing a white shirt and a diaper. The woman told police she gave Montrell to his dad on May 10, but she has not seen the boy since, sources said. The two share custody of the child. Family of 5 robbed at gunpoint in Queens home: sources
WHITESTONE, Queens (PIX11) — A family of five was robbed at gunpoint in their Queens home Monday morning, according to police and sources. The armed suspects, one dressed in an Amazon delivery vest, allegedly barged into the house near 152nd Street and 12th Avenue in Whitestone at around 9:05 a.m., police and sources said. More Local News Authorities said the home's front door was left unlocked after one of the kids left for school Monday morning. The men allegedly forced the parents, a 42-year-old man and a 39-year-old woman, and their three other kids into the basement and ransacked the house before leaving with an unknown amount of cash and jewelry, according to police and sources. The suspect then fled in the couple's car, which was later found unoccupied near 154th Street and 14th Avenue, according to the NYPD. There were no injuries. There have been no arrests. Police are searching for two men between 40 and 50 years old. One was dressed in a black hooded sweatshirt, and the other in an Amazon delivery vest. The investigation is ongoing. A 2-year-old Bronx boy disappeared over the weekend – and cops are now questioning his biological father, authorities and law-enforcement sources said. Little Montrell Williams was wearing only a white shirt and diaper when he vanished around 10 p.m. Saturday from an apartment building on Hunts Point Avenue and Gilbert Place in Hunts Point, cops said.
