In the next game, Andorra was shut out again, falling 3-0 to Albania while England rolled to a 3-0 win over Latvia. England is looking to make the World Cup once again. The team has qualified for the last seven World Cups, but it last missed in 1994 when the tournament was held in the United States. The English side has won its last five matches overall, including four consecutive shut-out victories. As for Andorra, a World Cup trip feels incredibly unlikely, but weirder things have happened. Ronaldo doesn't plan to play at Club World Cup

Portugal's Christiano Ronaldo (E) celebrates scoring his side's second goal during the UEFA Nations League semi final soccer match between Germany and Portugal at Allianz Arena. Federico Gambarini/dpa Cristiano Ronaldo has dmissed speculation that he could play at the Club World Cup, saying on Saturday it was all but certain that he wouldn't feature at the tournament in the United States starting in a week's time. Portugal captain Ronaldo told reporters ahead of Sunday's Nations League final against Spain in Munich that he had received offers and that there had been talks but that he had effectively made up his mind. Advertisement "I will not be at the Club World Cup," the 40-year-old Ronaldo said. "Some teams reached out to me. Some made sense and others did not." Ronaldo's contract at Saudi Pro League club Al-Nassr, who are not qualified for the 32-team event, expires on June 30. FIFA president Gianni Infantino had recently fuelled speculation that Ronaldo could be present for another club. FIFA has created a special transfer window until Tuesday for the clubs playing in the US. Five-time Ballon d'Or winner Ronaldo will either need to renew at Al-Nassr or join a new club to continue playing, but he is wasting no thoughts on retirement yet. "I don't have many more years to play - but I'm enjoying the moment," he said.

Real Madrid mainstay a doubt for France's UEFA Nations League semi-final vs Spain

Real Madrid's French entourage has already linked up with Didier Deschamps' squad in anticipation of the upcoming UEFA Nations League semifinal between France and Spain. Kylian Mbappe and Aurelien Tchouameni are amongst the players called up and a part of the manager's preferred lineup when fit. While the former is ready to start, however, the same cannot be said about the latter. Advertisement Tchouameni largely struggled with his fitness in the recent season and regularly found himself on the sidelines nursing from some serious setback. Now, he may well miss his national team's game as relayed by MARCA. Doubt against Spain As reported by the Spanish outlet, it is very unlikely that Tchouameni faces Spain this weekend for he has not trained with the group from June 1st. It was expected that he would return to group training this afternoon but the player appears to be running behind schedule on his recovery. Receiving the green light before the game, thus, is unlikely. Tchouameni likely to miss France vs Spain. (Photo by Juan Manuel) The situation for Didier Deschamps, thus, is an unpleasant one for he is without William Saliba, Jules Kounde, and Dayot Upamecano for the tournament, all three of whom are bonafide starting defenders.' Advertisement The midfielder's blow comes as a massive one in the grand scheme of things for the manager has no like-for-like profile replacement. Matteo Guendouzi and Warren Zaire-Emery come to mind but are not as defensively sound as Tchouameni is. The semi-final will be held in a single leg on Thursday night in Stuttgart and Spain can be considered slight favorites given their relative lack of injuries. Needless to say, however, it is bound to be a fiercely fought battle. From Real Madrid's perspective, meanwhile, they will hope the player plays no part tomorrow night and is fit in time for the Club World Cup.
