ATP roundup: Hamad Medjedovic earns milestone victory in Marseille
February 16 - Serbian Hamad Medjedovic had little trouble handling No. 1-seed Daniil Medvedev of Russia, capturing a 6-3, 6-2 upset on Saturday in the semifinals of the Open 13 Provence in Marseille, France.
Medjedovic had zero wins against top-10 opponents before downing Medvedev, who sits at eighth in the world rankings. It took only 72 minutes for the 21-year-old to pull off the stunning victory, in which he collected seven aces and saved 3 of 5 break points.
France's Ugo Humbert, the No. 2 seed, will collide with Medjedovic in the final.
Humbert put together a straight-set win of his own, taking 29 of 35 first-serve points en route to a 6-4, 6-4 victory over Zizou Bergs of Belgium.
IEB+ Argentina Open
Backed by a supportive home crowd, fifth-seeded Argentine Francisco Cerundolo coasted to a 6-2, 6-4 win over Spaniard Pedro Martinez in a semifinal battle in Buenos Aires, Argentina.
Cerundolo had eight aces while Martinez had zero, with the former also saving all seven break points he faced.
Joao Fonseca of Brazil is also headed to the final after prevailing 7-6 (3), 5-7, 6-1 against Serbia's Laslo Djere. It was tied 1-1 in the third set before Djere completely collapsed.
Delray Beach Open
No. 7-seed Miomir Kecmanovic of Serbia wasn't bothered by a hostile environment and came away with a 7-6 (3), 6-3 upset of third-seeded American Alex Michelsen in semifinal action in Delray Beach, Fla.
Kecmanovic was down 5-4 in the first set but managed to rally back. He then raced out to a 3-0 lead in the second set to put Michelsen to bed.
Spain's Alejandro Davidovich Fokina and Italy's Matteo Arnaldi were set to go at it in the other semifinal later Saturday.

Micah Richards says 'top player' would be perfect for Arsenal
Micah Richards says he 'really believes' Rodrygo could be on his way out of Real Madrid and the forward would be a 'good fit' for Mikel Arteta's system at Arsenal. The Gunners are on the hunt for attacking reinforcements after going another season without winning any silverware under Arteta and have been alerted to a potential deal for Real Madrid's Rodrygo. Rodrygo fell down the pecking order in Carlo Ancelotti's plans towards the end of last term, prompting the Brazilian to ask serious questions about his standing at the Bernabeu. And while Rodrygo's mood has improved somewhat since Xabi Alonso took over the reins from Ancelotti, the 24-year-old has been given no assurances that he will feature prominently in the Spaniard's long-term vision. Rodrygo's camp have made it clear they have no intention of getting themselves embroiled in transfer negotiations in the middle of Madrid's Club World Cup campaign in the United States. But the Gunners are confident they can offer Rodrygo a sporting project that could entice the two-time Champions League winner to the Emirates – and developments could shift at a pace over the coming days and weeks. 'Rodrygo said he didn't want to play on the right, didn't he? That's where the frustration is coming from,' ex-Manchester City and England defender Richards said on the latest episode of The Rest Is Football. 'Everyone wants to play on the left, even though they're right-footed. 'I think he could leave in the summer, I really believe he could leave. 'He's a top player, a top player. He's been linked with Arsenal.' On the suggestion that Gabriel Martinelli hasn't quite lived up to expectations on the left for Arsenal, Richards replied: 'Yeah, agreed. I think that's fair. 'I think Rodrygo would fit in really good in the Arsenal system, for sure.' Rodrygo will no doubt have been encouraged after being handed a start in Madrid's Club World Cup opener against Al-Hilal. However, the Brazil international came off in the 65th minute of Madrid's 1-1 draw and was subsequently left on the substitutes bench as Los Blancos ran out 3-1 winners over Pachuca on Sunday. It's understood teams from the Saudi Pro League are also monitoring Rodrygo's situation, with Madrid reportedly willing to sell the winger should they receive an offer of around €80million (£67.5m) this summer. Rodrygo has three years remaining on his current contract in the Spanish capital. More Trending Earlier this month, Arsenal defender Gabriel Magalhaes was asked if he could shed any light on Rodrygo's current mindset amid rumours he could soon be joined by his fellow countryman in north London. 'I don't. No, I don't, not really,' he told the Podpah Podcast. 'But I'd like it, obviously. Rodrygo is a phenomenon, for me. He's not at Arsenal… I've told people already, he's a phenomenon. 'His name is mentioned a lot. If it was up to me, of course.' For more stories like this, check our sport page. Follow Metro Sport for the latest news on Facebook, Twitter and Instagram. Chelsea and Manchester United consider Christopher Nkunku for Alejandro Garnacho swap deal
United kept hold of the Argentine, though he is now expected to depart having publicly expressed his unhappiness with his substitute role in the Europa League final defeat by Tottenham in Bilbao and reportedly been told subsequently by Amorim in no uncertain terms to find a new club this summer.

Click to share on X/Twitter (Opens in new window) Click to share on Facebook (Opens in new window) EMMA RADUCANU has opened up on her relationship with Carlos Alcaraz. Last week it was announced that the superstar pair will be teaming up for the revamped US Open mixed doubles event in August. And SunSport has since revealed that the "spark" between Alcaraz and Raducanu was the "talk of Queen's" last week. The British No1 missed the Spaniard's victory over Jiri Lehecka on Sunday as she had headed to Eastbourne to play in her final event before Wimbledon. Speaking before her round one match against Ann Li, Raducanu lifted the lid on her partnership with Alcaraz. After the world No2 joked that Raducanu "took a while" to give him a response, she said: "I mean, of course, I had to ask my team if they wanted me to play. "But for me, when he asked me, I was going to say yes, I just had to kind of go through the formality of asking my coach, so I didn't just make the decision." When it was put to Raducanu that fans have frequently joked that she and Alcaraz are "destined for each other", the British star laughed and replied: "I'm glad the internet is having fun and we're providing entertainment for everyone." On how they became friends, Raducanu added: "I've known him for years and actually in Wimbledon 2021 it was like kind of the first time I started getting to know him, and I had a good run there and then also again in the US Open in 2021. "And I would see him win and then I would have motivation to win and get myself into that position too. Emma Raducanu sets fans' tongues wagging as she turns up to see Carlos Alcaraz who after makes flattering admission "And I remember he beat Stef [Tsitsipas] in the third round and it was like a big win, his breakout kind of win on a big stage and it was really cool to kind of, I guess, go through that tournament together and then I kept going through the US Open, but we were staying in touch for the whole time and yeah, it's nice." Throughout her career, Raducanu has shown a tendency to rely on people that she knew prior to her US Open success. This has been particularly notable in her coaching choices, with the world No38 often returning to former trainers and confidantes Mark Petchey, Nick Cavaday and Jane O'Donoghue. Further lifting the lid on her connection with Alcaraz, Raducanu went on: "We have a good relationship still. He's obviously overtaken me a lot, but it's nice that we have that from a while ago. "I think for all of us, we really kind of value those connections that we had from when we were young because when you become a bit more known or a bit more successful, you just find yourself reverting back to people you knew from a young age because you're like, that's a real genuine connection. "Because it becomes very busy and you have a lot more friends but the ones that you've known for a long time mean a lot more to you." Raducanu will take on American Li in round one at Devonshire Park this afternoon. Should she triumph, the home favourite will face Australia's Maya Joint in round two - with a potential rematch with her Wimbledon conqueror from last year Lulu Sun awaiting in the quarter-finals. 7 Raducanu is set to be in Eastbourne action this afternoon Credit: Getty
