IndiGo announces direct flight from Adampur to Mumbai
New Delhi [India], May 31 (ANI): IndiGo announced on Saturday that the airline will offer exclusive daily direct flights between Mumbai and Adampur (Jalandhar).
This new route will make the town in Jalandhar, Punjab, IndiGo's 92nd domestic station and 133rd overall destination. Effective from July 02, 2025, this new route will offer convenient flights between the two cities.
These flights have been strategically introduced to cater to the needs of both business and leisure customers, providing them with convenient travel options.
This new direct connection will provide Punjab's agricultural and industrial sectors with easier access to Mumbai's major ports, boosting trade opportunities. It will also help local businesses tap into national and international markets, create jobs, and strengthen economic and cultural ties between northern and western India.

MORE In the financial year 2024-25, Maharashtra has attracted a record foreign direct investment of Rs 1,64,875 crore. Maharashtra has once again topped the country in foreign direct investment. This has proved that foreign investors have shown tremendous faith in the decisions and policies of the Mahayuti government in the last 3 years. In the financial year 2024-25, India attracted the foreign direct investment of Rs 4,21,929 crore. 40 percent of this investment has been made in Maharashtra. There has been as much as 32 percent rise in investment compared to the last year. Out of this an investment of Rs 25,441 crore has been made in Maharashtra in the last quarter i.e January to March 2025. Maharashtra has set a new record of the highest foreign investment in the last 10 years. This is the proud moment in the tenure of Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis. Since 2014, the state is moving rapidly towards its aim of 'developed Maharsahtra' under the leadership of Devendra Fadnavis. The foundation for all-round development of Maharashtra was laid during the five year period from 2014 to 2019. Projects like Metro, Samruddhi Mahamarg, river linking project, Jalyukt Shivar showcase the vision of prosperous development of the state. Projects worth Rs 1,48,380 crore have been started for 337 km long metro in the Mumbai Metropolitan Region (MMRDA) alone. Multiple projects like Navi Mumbai Airport costing Rs 19,600 crore, Vadhavan Port project costing Rs 76,220 crore, Atal Setu and Coastal Road have been underway in the state since 2014. Fadnavis government has taken many decisions considering the future needs of the state. Fadnavis government has shown a futuristic vision of development through projects like solar energy subsidy scheme for rooftop solar energy use, construction of 1500 km long new roads across the state, Mumbai-Nagpur Samruddhi Mahamarg, Shaktipeeth Mahamarg, Nar-Par-Girna river linking project, Wainganga-Nalganga river linking project. Uddhav Thackeray betrayed BJP and formed the Maha Vikas Agadhi in 2019. Over a period of next two and half years, i.e till July 2022, Uddhav Thackeray kept no stone unturned in showing his anti-development face and his poisonous hatred for BJP by suspending many development schemes launched by Devendra Fadnavis. The two and half year rule of Uddhav Thackeray government took Maharashtra 20 years back in terms of development. The Mahayuti government of BJP-Shiv Sena under the leadership of Eknath Shinde came to power in July 2022 and the development of the state regained pace. Projects like Airbus, Foxconn moved out of Maharashtra because of Uddhav Thackeray's inaction only. This same inaction of Uddhav Thackeray was the reason behind Vedanta semiconductor project also moving out of Maharashtra. During the two and half years of Uddhav Thackeray's rule the development schemes launched during Fadnavis government were suspended one after the other. Uddhav Thackeray's decision to stop the crucial project like Mumbai Metro was driven by his revenge mentality. Devendra Fadnavis was trying to start the Tata Airbus project in Nagpur since 2017. Uddhav Thackeray did not do the required follow up for investment projects after becoming Chief Minister. Uddhav Thackeray, who himself was running the state from home via Facebook live, had launched a propaganda campaign against the Mahayuti government. But the people of the state gave a fitting reply to this campaign in the assembly elections. The Mahayuti government has set an example of what happens when the government speedily provides necessary facilities to investors. Investors trust a government that provides them with facilities like land, water, electricity along with required licenses swiftly. Prime Minister Narendra Modi has proved his determination by making the country a fifth largest economy. Prime Minister Modi has dreamt of making the country's economy a five billion trillion economy. Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis is working relentlessly, so that Maharashtra contributes in realizing this dream of Prime Minister Modi. The Prime Minister has set a goal to realize this dream by 2027. Chief Minister Fadnavis has created a favourable environment for investment by implementing industry-friendly policies. We are witnessing this record foreign direct investment as an effect of this. There is absolutely no doubt that this development juggernaut of Maharashtra will be unstoppable now. In bid to go global, IndiGo orders 30 more Airbus planes
Low-cost carrier IndiGo on Sunday said it has confirmed an order for 30 additional Airbus A350 wide-body aircraft, doubling its existing order to a total 60 A350s, along with options for 40 more. 'We have signed the MoU with Airbus for confirming the option for 30 A350s. Their delivery starts in 2027,' IndiGo CEO Pieter Elbers at the IATA Annual General Meeting (AGM) on Sunday said. Elbers said that the delivery of the original 30 aircraft, ordered last year, will begin in 2027 and continue into the early 2030s. The additional 30 confirmed aircraft will start arriving after the initial batch and will be delivered into the latter part of the next decade. IndiGo had originally placed the firm order for 30 Airbus A350s in May 2023, with an option for 70 more aircraft at the time. In recent years, the airline ventured into long-haul international operations using wet-leased Boeing 777s from Turkish Airlines- a deal that is now set to conclude within the next three months. To continue offering long-haul services, IndiGo will soon start flying wet-leased Boeing 787s from Norse Atlantic Airways to destinations such as Manchester and Amsterdam. Wet lease is an arrangement that includes renting an aircraft along with a crew, maintenance, and insurance. To enhance connectivity beyond its own network, IndiGo is expanding strategic collaborations. The airline announced a new partnership with Delta Air Lines, Air France-KLM, and Virgin Atlantic, aiming to improve access between India, Europe, and North America. 'IndiGo has embarked on an ambitious journey to become a global airline by 2030. This partnership (with Delta Air Lines, Air France-KLM and Virgin Atlantic) represents a milestone to pursue commercial synergies, operational excellence and innovation…. We are particularly excited to start our long-haul expansion from this summer and connect with our partners' networks to provide greater access to Europe and North America. IndiGo, Delta, Air France-KLM, Virgin Atlantic announce partnership
IndiGo, Delta Air Lines, Air France-KLM and Virgin Atlantic on Sunday (June 1, 2025) announced a partnership to enhance air connectivity from India to Europe as well as North America. "Linking dozens of cities in the U.S., Canada, Europe and India, the airlines aim to meet rising demand for international travel while setting new standards for connectivity and cooperation in global aviation," a release said. IndiGo, India's largest airline, is expanding its International network and is set to start flights to 10 overseas cities in the current fiscal ending March 2026. The partnership was jointly announced at a briefing in the national capital by IndiGo CEO Pieter Elbers, Delta Air Lines CEO Ed Bastian, Air France-KLM CEO Benjamin Smith and Virgin Atlantic CEO Shai Weiss. India is one of the world's fastest growing civil aviation markets. Meanwhile, under the Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) announced on Sunday, the efforts will be to create a framework for deeper collaboration between the carriers on a bilateral and multilateral basis. Besides, the airlines will look at commercial collaboration including network, loyalty, cargo and sales. They will also explore areas of non-commercial cooperation including aircraft maintenance, sustainability, training and ground handling, the release said. IndiGo CEO Pieter Elbers said it has embarked on an ambitious journey to become a global airline by 2030. The partnership not only expands our relationship with Air France-KLM and Virgin Atlantic but also marks the beginning of an exciting new chapter with Delta Air Lines. It plans to resume services to India with direct flights between Atlanta and Delhi, subject to government approvals.
