The Ministry of Health in Gaza revealed on Monday that surgical teams in Gaza Strip hospitals are facing severe difficulties due to a severe shortage of surgical instruments and operating trays.
The Ministry of Health confirmed in a statement that there is a severe shortage of surgical instruments in the general surgery, orthopedics, vascular, and ophthalmology departments, which is hindering life-saving operations.
Since October 7, 2023, the enemy, with full American support, has been waging a war of genocide in Gaza, killing 55 people, wounding more than 118,610, and leaving more than 14,000 missing under the rubble.

On the international front, UN Secretary-General António Guterres strongly condemned the incident, calling it 'unacceptable.' His spokesperson, Stéphane Dujarric, said: 'Civilians should not lose their lives simply because they are trying to get food,' reiterating the Secretary-General's call for an immediate and independent investigation and for those responsible to be held accountable. This deadly incident comes amid catastrophic humanitarian conditions in Gaza, where the population faces severe shortages of food, water, and medicine after nearly twenty months of an ongoing genocide, and where humanitarian aid delivery remains an immense challenge. 41% of Kidney Failure Patients in Gaza die during aggression
Gaza – SABA: The Ministry of Health in the Gaza Strip announced on Monday that 41% of kidney failure patients have died during the ongoing Zionist aggression on Gaza, due to being denied access to dialysis centers and the destruction of facilities dedicated to their care. In a press statement, the ministry confirmed that Israeli forces demolished the Noura Al-Kaabi Dialysis Center in northern Gaza, which had been providing essential dialysis services to kidney patients. The ministry warned of the severe consequences of the center's destruction on the health of kidney patients, describing the situation as a 'disaster with unforeseeable outcomes.' It noted that the occupation forces are systematically working to eliminate hospitals and specialized care centers from northern Gaza. A report by the Palestinian Center for Human Rights, issued on May 20, highlighted that 41% of kidney failure patients have died due to repeated displacement and the drastic reduction in dialysis hours from 12 to just 4 hours per week. The report further revealed that six out of the seven centers providing dialysis services in Gaza have been either completely destroyed or rendered inoperable—four in Gaza City and the northern governorates, and two in the central and southern areas. It added that 472 kidney failure patients—41% of the total 1,200 patients—have died since October 7, with the majority of deaths occurring in Gaza City and the north. The fatalities were primarily due to the destruction of dialysis centers and the patients' inability to attend their sessions regularly, which led to the deterioration of their health and ultimately their deaths.
