Tiger Woods
, Arthur Blank and Adam Scott led a search committee that selected Brian Rolapp for the new role
A six-person committee appointed by PGA Tour Enterprises chose Brian Rolapp. Atlanta Falcons owner Arthur Blank chaired the group, joined by Tiger Woods, Adam Scott, Jay Monahan, Joe Gorder, and Sam Kennedy. Blank said,
'Having worked with Brian during our time in the NFL, I have seen firsthand his ability to lead with vision and collaboration, and to deliver results.'
Tiger Woods added,
'Brian's appointment is a win for players and fans.
He has a clear respect for the game and our players and brings a fresh perspective from his experience in the NFL.'
Jay Monahan will stay until 2026 then hand full authority to Brian Rolapp
Jay Monahan stated last year that he would step down after a decade as commissioner.
'A year ago, I informed our Boards that upon completing a decade as commissioner, I would step down from my role at the end of 2026,'
he said. The transition plan keeps him on the PGA Tour Policy Board and the PGA Tour Enterprises Board while Brian Rolapp assumes daily operations.
Brian Rolapp must broker peace with LIV Golf and renegotiate media contracts that expire in 2030
Professional golf remains divided. The framework agreement announced on 6 June 2023 between the PGA Tour and the Public Investment Fund of Saudi Arabia, backer of LIV Golf, has not produced a final deal. Brian Rolapp will lead those talks alongside LIV Golf Chief Executive Officer Scott O'Neil, his former classmate at Harvard Business School. He also inherits the task of renewing the PGA Tour's media rights before the current contracts end in 2030.
Brian Rolapp outlines his vision to strengthen commercial partnerships and fan engagement
'I'm honored to join the PGA Tour at such a pivotal time,'
Brian Rolapp said in the announcement.
'The PGA Tour represents the highest level of competition, integrity and global opportunity in the game of golf, and I believe deeply in the Tour's mission and its potential to grow even stronger.'
He pledged to focus on product quality, player opportunities, and stronger commercial relationships that reach new audiences worldwide.
Brian Rolapp now shifts from American football to global golf, carrying two decades of media success to a sport looking for unity and expansion.

FCC says China Mobile could face US fines for failing to cooperate in probe
By David Shepardson WASHINGTON: The Federal Communications Commission said on Tuesday it could fine China Mobile for failing to answer questions in the agency's probe to determine if its U.S. operations are seeking to evade American restrictions. The regulator previously barred China Mobile and other Chinese companies from providing telecommunications services in the United States, citing national security concerns . The FCC said in March it was investigating nine Chinese companies including China Mobile, Huawei Technologies, ZTE, Hangzhou Hikvision and China Telecom to determine if they are seeking to evade U.S. restrictions. The FCC citation issued to China Mobile disclosed the commission has been probing the company's U.S. operations since November 2022. In February, the FCC sent China Mobile a supplemental letter asking additional questions. The FCC accused China Mobile of misconduct and said the company failed to provide the specific information and documentation requested. "China Mobile's conduct throughout this matter exhibits a disregard for the Commission's authority and threatens to compromise the Commission's ability to adequately investigate," the FCC said. It gave China Mobile 30 days to answer numerous questions or face fines. China Mobile did not immediately respond to a request for comment. The FCC said in 2019 China Mobile was indirectly owned and controlled by the Chinese government and noted a significant possibility that Beijing's influence and control could result in "computer intrusions and attacks and economic espionage." FCC Chair Brendan Carr said in March the Chinese companies may be still operating in the United States because they do not believe the designation prohibits particular types of operations. Other companies under investigation include Hytera Communications, Dahua Technology Company , Pacifica Networks/ComNet and China Unicom (Americas).

Kevin Pietersen, Saba Karim weigh in on KL Rahul's ideal batting position: 'Lot of maturity that has come in'
As we get closer to India's first Test against England at Leeds, experts are busy offering advice and predicting the visitors' batting order — including KL Rahul's position. What should Team India do? read more Experts predict who should bat at No.4 for the Indian cricket team in Test series against England. Image: Kevin Pietersen on X/Saba Karim on X Former England cricketer Kevin Pietersen wants KL Rahul to open for India in the upcoming five-match Test series against England, which starts on 20 June, but Saba Karim, the former BCCI selector, has a different opinion on the matter and a different batting position in mind for Rahul. With only two more days to go, the speculations and predictions around what could be India's batting line-up are getting intense. Experts and fans are having very different opinions on who should open alongside Yashasvi Jaiswal and who should bat at No.4. STORY CONTINUES BELOW THIS AD These speculations, rumours and predictions have been triggered by the retirements of Rohit Sharma and Virat Kohli, which leave two valuable spots vacant in India's batting order. Pietersen picks KL Rahul as India's opener Legendary England cricketer Pietersen, who is very well aware of the English conditions, feels Rahul must open for India along with Jaiswal, while new Test captain Shubman Gill can be Kohli's replacement at the No.4 slot. He also predicted Sai Sudarshan and Karun Nair getting into the team for the first Test at Leeds. 'Shubman can decide; wherever Shubman is comfortable batting, he can bat at 3 or 4. KL (Rahul) and Yashasvi will open the batting. I'd have Sai Sudarshan and Karun Nair; that's your top 5. Potentially at 6, you might look at another batter," Pietersen told Star Sports. Also Read | Shubman Gill and Test captaincy: What he needs to succeed and the leader he could become 'I think in English conditions you might have to look at another batter. At the top of my head I don't know who the other batters are in your squad, but you might have to have a look at another batter, and then Pant can bat at 7, and then you have your four seamers and a spinner.' Saba Karim wants KL Rahul to bat at No.4 Former selectors and wicket-keeper Saba Karim has a completely different view as he feels KL Rahul is best suited to replace Kohli at No.4 as he possesses the right temperament and skills for the job. 'Well, in the absence of Kohli, Rahul's role is monumental. And I look at him, as a batter who can bat a number four. Many people have suggested different batting positions, but I feel that KL is ideal to replace or take over, the role of Virat Kohli at number four, because that number four, he can play a dual role of negotiating the early setback if that happens in the Indian side, and then he can carry the innings forward. He does have the right kind of technique. He has done well in England,' Karim told NDTV. STORY CONTINUES BELOW THIS AD Also Read | Ravi Shastri shares his preferred playing XI for first Test 'He has a temperament. And I think with the past season, season and a half, there is a lot of maturity that has come in. So I think that's the kind of responsibility with Indian team management.' There are still two days for coach Gautam Gambhir and captain Gill to finalise the batting order, but one thing is for sure: they have too much expert advice and multiple candidates for the role.

Grealish needs ‘Butterflies in his stomach' again after struggles at Manchester: City boss Guardiola
Manchester City manager Pep Guardiola explained on Tuesday that Jack Grealish was dropped because the English star winger needed to rediscover his love of football after being left out of the squad for the Club World Cup in the United States. 'Jack is an exceptional player. The only reason he didn't play last season was of course my decisions. We decided it was best that he stays and has a place where he can get back to what he was in the year of the treble or all his career at Aston Villa,' said Guardiola in Philadelphia, where City will play Wydad Casablanca in their opening game on Wednesday. Grealish has started only 10 Premier League games in the 2024-25 season and only 16 times across all competitions in this campaign after the City in 2021. He was a standout on their run to Champions League, Premier League and FA Cup glory in 2023. 'Without Grealish, it would have been more difficult to achieve what we did in the treble season, but the fact is that the last two seasons he has not played much minutes. Grealish has to get back to playing and having the butterflies in his stomach that he needs to play every three days,' he added. Man City added four new signings — Dutch midfielder Tijjani Reijnders, exciting French creator Rayan Cherki, left-back Rayan Ait-Nouri and back-up goalkeeper Marcus Bettinelli — in the recent transfer window to freshen up their squad for the Club World Cup. 'We are really pleased because all of them have huge quality. With this incredible amount of games we have until the end of the season, 11 months, every three or four days, everyone is going to play,' he said. City finished third in the Premier League behind winner Liverpool and second-placed Arsenal this season and also missed out on any silverware.
