Real Housewives fans DIVIDED as yet another city joins the franchise
Fans of the Real Housewives are divided after Bravo announced that yet another city will be joining the franchise.
Bravo shared the news of the massive, forthcoming lineup to the mixed reaction of many reality TV fans on Wednesday.
They also confirmed several Housewives series — but not all of them — will also be coming back for another season alongside the new, upcoming The Real Housewives of Rhode Island.
Many fans seem excited — and others even hopeful that Taylor Swift would make an appearance as a 'friend of' — while some were disappointed their favorite shows were chopped as a result.
This week, the network made a huge announcement, revealing their upcoming slate, which includes many new shows and also other seemingly canceled ones.
According to a press release, Bravo is introducing four new shows, which include: The Real Housewives of Rhode Island, the Ladies of London reboot, The Valley: Persian Style and Wife Swap: The Real Housewives Edition.
Those renewed include Below Deck Mediterranean, Below Deck Down Under, Married to Medicine, Southern Charm and Southern Hospitality.
One of the new shows will see Shahs of Sunset stars Reza Farahan, Golnesa 'GG' Gharachedaghi and Mercedes 'MJ' Javid return in the new series with the working title of The Valley: Persian Style.
The jam-packed announcement comes as Bravo is set to premiere new seasons of Below Deck and the Real Housewives of Miami over the summer.
Up next this year is also a new season of Vanderpump Rules with a whole new cast as well as Next Gen NYC, Kings Court, Las Culturistas Awards Show.
Bravo will also be taking over The McBee Dynasty: Real American Cowboys as the show moves over from Peacock for its second season.
Bravo's Real Housewives franchise dates back to 2006 when the first ever release burst onto the scene with The Real Hosuewives of Orange County.
The franchise has since expanded to nine other cities, and the Rhode Island edition will be the 11th.
Other iterations, current and former, include New York City, Atlanta, New Jersey, D.C., Beverly Hills, Miami, Salt Lake City, Dallas and Potomac.
There are four series that have been canceled or placed on indefinite hiatus including D.C. as well as Dallas and Dubai.
In the massive announcement, RHONJ was noticeably absent.
It also appeared that the RHONY reboot has also been seemingly paused after the new cast shakeup from two seasons ago failed to stick.
As for the previously paused or canceled series, The Real Housewives of Dallas was paused in 2021 after five seasons while The Real Housewives of D.C. was canceled after one. Dubai has been on pause after season two.
There are also 21 international adaptations of the hit franchise series in addition to the 11 American ones.
No cast members have been announced yet for The Real Housewives of Rhode Island nor Wife Swap: Real Housewives Edition.
News of the fresh lineup, however, have stirred mixed reactions in longtime Housewives fans.
Many franchise fanatics are welcoming the new addition and even joking that Taylor Swift will be a 'friend of' the show as the singer's iconic $17M vacation house is located in Westerly.
Other fans were disappointed with the city selection as they said there were other locales that could have been a more interesting selection.
Many fans took to X, formerly Twitter, and the comments section of Bravo's Instagram post to share their thoughts. One user wrote that the new four shows, including The Real Housewives of Rhode Island, 'all sound lit!'
Another added that the news of another Real Housewives is 'absolutely brilliant'
'RI housewives baby! Can't wait to see our state on the Bravo screen. SOOOO freakin' excited,' a Rhode Island resident and Real Housewives fan commented
In response to the news, many Swifties also shared in excitement. 'Real housewives if Rhode Island bagged TAYLOR SWIFT,' one fan wrote hopefully
Some fans were upset that their favorite reality shows were not renewed for a new season.
Many fans were saddened that The Real Housewives of Dubai as well as Summer House: Martha's Vineyard were chopped after only two seasons each.
Others asked about whether Family Karma and Southern Charm New Orleans would return in the near future.
Release dates nor production news for the four new shows, including The Real Housewives of Rhode Island, have not yet been revealed.

'RHORI just sounds kinda boring,' another person tweeted on X
One Housewives fan left crying emojis in their tweet as they expressed disappointment that The Real Housewives of New Jersey was not included on Bravo's slate
'RHORI just sounds kinda boring,' another person tweeted on X. 'Something with a little more flavor could be cool. And more watchable than this. A Southwestern set show? Having a show set in Chicago that could mash up the flavors of Atlanta and New Jersey into one? I would have signed up for both.'
One Housewives fan left crying emojis in their tweet as they expressed disappointment that The Real Housewives of New Jersey was not included on Bravo's slate.
Other fans got upset at Bravo for canceling their favorite shows in lieu of a new addition. 'So another Housewives franchise, but what about season 3 of Dubai?!'
One fan wrote angrily to Bravo about the shows that did not make the lineup.'Not a single soul cared or asked for Housewives of Rhode Island?!??!!!!? But Dubai chopped?!? Summer House: Martha's Vineyard chopped?!?'

While she also paid tribute to the crew of the musical, thanking composer Andrew Lloyd Webber and gushing: 'It has been such an honor to be able to create with you the past 15 years.' And voicing her gratitude and appreciation for producer Jamie Lloyd, she added: 'Jamie, you saw in me what no one else did. You have given us all new ways to dream and you have changed my life forever.' Nicole wrapped up her emotional speech with an inspiring message, saying: 'If there's anyone out there who feels like they don't belong, or your time hasn't come, don't give up. 'Just keep on giving and giving, because the world needs your love and your light now more than ever. This is a testament that love always wins. Thank you so much. God Bess you.' She also took to the stage to give the audience a glimpse of her award-winning performance, as she sang As If We Never Said Goodbye from the show. She's so easy and fun to be around. I've hit the jackpot.' He explained: 'It wasn't even in my thought process to try it on with Nicole because it would have been unprofessional and she's so lovely and stunning in every possible way. I was just like, "She's out of my league". The former Scottish international rugby union player went on to say that it was his grandmother who inspired him to 'pluck up the courage' and talk to Nicole as he recalled her motto: 'If you don't ask, you don't get'. Thom reflected that he rejected the idea of sliding into the pop star's DMs as he didn't think it was the 'done thing' and would be 'awkward', but instead felt it was right to have an old fashioned face-to-face conversation. He added that he's 'really grateful' that their relationship began 'naturally' during their 'intimate first meeting', with the hunk insisting he's 'never looked back'.
