‘Ginny & Georgia' Stars Sara Waisglass and Felix Mallard Dissect Major Moments For The Baker Twins In Season 3
Ginny & Georgia . Marcus (Felix Mallard) and Maxine (Sara Waisglass) Baker have formed a strong foundation for Netflix's Ginny & Georgia as two key characters in the life of Ginny (Antonia Gentry). More from Deadline 'Ginny & Georgia' Season 3: Everything We Know So Far 'Ginny & Georgia' Season 3 Soundtrack: From Remi Wolf To Sofi Tukker 2025 Premiere Dates For New & Returning Series On Broadcast, Cable & Streaming While Max was Ginny's first close friend in Wellsbury, Massachusetts, Marcus is her first true love, but their relationship has its ups and downs as all three of them are sucked into the orbit of Ginny's mother Georgia (Brianne Howey) who is on trial for murder this season. Two sides of the same coin, Max is a social butterfly who talks a mile a minute, but she starts to really feel the pressure of having it all together this season as her brother's depression takes a super strong hold of him, as viewers witness starting at the end of Season 2. Thus, the dynamic for the twins, much like Ginny & Georgia's relationship, is one that constantly shifts in new ways. 'We've seen their sibling rivalry. We've seen them be sweet with each other, but we've never seen them at odds about a big issue,' Waisglass told Deadline ahead of Season 3's premiere. Waisglass and Mallard unpack some major moments — including an episode told from Max's perspective as well as a scene in which Marcus proves super supportive to Ginny — in the below interview. DEADLINE: WAISGLASS: I had had our writers hint to me that there was a Max-centric episode in the future, and I was curious what that would look like because I was a huge fan of the Marcus episode in Season 2. and it did not disappoint, honestly, getting to look inside Max's brain. I mean, I've always lived there. I've always had all of that on the mind, and obviously I'm a fast speaker, and so is Max, and there's a million things happening at the same time, but that's just who she is. And so to get to share that with everyone and kind of open it up in that way was really special. Also I love musicals, so getting to do another one of those was hilarious and amazing and also really special, because I do think that it shows a really wonderful side of Max. Because those musicals are usually where she shines, and it's when she gets the most attention, and she thrives on that, and instead of basking in the glory of her performance, she uses that time to tell her parents that her brother's struggling. I think that is such a selfless move on her part. I'm so proud of her for that. And yeah, I just, I think that episode was marvelous, if I do say so myself. DL: MALLARD: I think there's different techniques for different people. I'm certainly a big subscriber [to] music. [It's] such a huge part in trying to develop, 'How do you get into an emotional space?' But a lot of it, especially with Marcus, he's someone who is desperate to be seen and understood and loved, and has no vocabulary on how to deal with that. So it's examining moments in my life where I've felt angry or lonely or misunderstood or depressed, and there's a lot to draw from. There's a catharsis in being able to bring yourself to it, and then live in the circumstance, wind it all up, put as many details and ingredients as you want into that scene, and then when it comes to action, just let it all go and see what comes out, and see if you can surprise yourself. There's a lot of anger in in Marcus this season, and I think it's that not being able to be understood. There's an old, I think it's a Buddhist phrase about like, holding on to anger, is like holding on to hot coal, and it, just, all it does is hurt yourself. And not only does it do that,it hurts everyone around him. And to be able to sit and meditate on that — I've been saying meditate a lot today. It's my favorite word. WAISGLASS: It's the word of the day. MALLARD: I think it's grounds for a really, hopefully transcendent experience, like when we were stepping into those scenes, it was just — to be able to provide a space to go as deep and dark and angry and wild as possible was a real joy. DEADLINE: MALLARD: I think Ginny has always been his North Star. Ginny's always been the place where he feels most himself and most loved, and so it's the antidote to how he's feeling, but you know, as a snake eating its own tail, he doesn't feel like he has enough self-love, or that Ginny, you know, deserves to be around someone like him. So it's this push and pull of like I need to be with this person. I want to show up for her, and I can't. And how that all plays out. DEADLINE: WAISGLASS: I think Max is one of the only people who sees Marcus going deeper into a hole, and she's really trying to be there for him, and he is shutting her out. And I don't think that's something that happens often with them. I think they're always each other's number one. So I think that's an interesting place to take it. And definitely there was a scene in 9 I think, where we got to yell at each other a bit, and I think that that was really scary, because it was definitely a new energy for us to explore. And I remember even in the scene being like, I'm scared of you [Felix]. MALLARD: [Laughs]. 'Ginny & Georgia' Season 4 confirmed by Netflix: Release date, plot and cast updates
Netflix has confirmed that Ginny & Georgia will return for Season 4, continuing the story of the complex mother-daughter duo. Following the June 2025 release of Season 3, fans were left with unresolved questions, including the fate of Georgia's baby, the future of Ginny and Marcus, and whether Georgia will face justice for Tom's death. Series creator Sarah Lampert said, 'I want(ed) people to finish the season and stand up as if they just got off a ride.' She described Season 3 as the most ambitious yet, emphasising that the drama is driven by the emotional truths of its central characters. 'We care about these characters, they are messy and complicated and real.' Lampert and showrunner Sarah Glinski revealed that Season 4's official theme is 'Cycles and Origins.' Lampert added, 'We really worked in Season 3 on breaking Georgia's soul with the option of then trying to rebuild her in Season 4.' Although no release date has been announced, Lampert confirmed that work has begun in the writers' room. If the show maintains its biennial schedule, a release in the first half of 2027 is likely. Cast for Season 4 has not been confirmed, but key players from previous seasons are expected to return, including Brianne Howey, Antonia Gentry, Diesel La Torraca, and Scott Porter. Seasons 1,2, and 3 of Ginny & Georgia are now streaming on Netflix.

Is Final Stranger Things Season Still on Track for 2025? Will It Be Released in 2 Parts? — Here's What Duffer Brothers, Netflix CCO Are Saying
The greatest Stranger Things twist ever might be if the Netflix series actually streams its farewell season in 2025, as planned. Series creators Matt and Ross Duffer aka The Duffer Brothers appeared at this week's Next on Netflix press event to offer up a behind-the-scenes sizzle reel (not yet made public) and talk up just how big the farewell run will be and feel. More from TVLine The Diplomat Season 3 First Look: See Bradley Whitford Join the Cast as Allison Janney's Husband Ginny & Georgia Season 3 (Finally!) Gets Release Date at Netflix Dark Winds: Leaphorn and Jenna Elfman's FBI Agent Hunt a 'Monster' in New Trailer for XL Season 3 'We spent a full year filming this season. By the end, we'd captured over 650 hours of footage,' Ross said on stage. 'So, needless to say, this is our biggest and most ambitious season yet. It's like eight blockbuster movies. It's pretty insane.' Matt added, At the same time, we think it's our most personal story. It was super intense and emotional to film, for us and for our actors… And we hope — and believe — that passion will translate to the screen.' Stranger Things Season 5: Everything We Know About the Final Episodes View List When and in what form the series will land on the screens of its very patients fans is still very TBD, though, to hear both the Duffers and Netflix Chief Content Officer Bela Bajaria tell it. Will the fifth and final season hit its huge 2025 release target? And even if it does, might fans only get the first half or so of the episodes? With a second batch to arrive at a later date? 'A lot of it hasn't been decided, in terms of exactly the release dates and cadence,' Matt Duffer told our sister site Variety. 'We're getting on a call in about a couple weeks about it. I just know it was very important for us and Netflix that we get it out this year. But even that is quite the push,' given the amount of footage to be culled and the ginormous amount of visual effects/post-production. Rest assured, though, the Duffers are 'working as fast as we possibly can,' Ross said. Stranger Things premiered on Netflix July 15, 2016. Season 2 'quickly' followed on Oct. 27, 2017, and Season 3 dropped on July 4, 2019. Season 4 was held up by the COVID pandemic, and ultimately arrived in batches of seven episodes (on May 27, 2022) and two XL episodes (July 1, 2022). Meanwhile, the gap between Seasons 4 and 5 — which is already at 31 months, due in part to the dual Hollywood strikes of summer 2023 — promises to be the series' largest by far.
