Terrell Suggs makes admission on former Patriots TE Aaron Hernandez
Former Baltimore Ravens All-Pro linebacker Terrell Suggs was asked what was the most annoying tight end era he's ever faced, and he quickly pointed to the New England Patriots teams with both Rob Gronkowski and Aaron Hernandez on the field at the same time.
However, Suggs noted that Hernandez was especially a problem on the football field.
"Gronk was big as [expletive], but Hernandez, he was a problem," said Suggs, when appearing on the "Rory & Mal" podcast. "This [expletive] would route you the [expletive] up. Aaron Hernandez was a [expletive] hell of a football player. Too bad that was his second job."
Hernandez, a 2010 fourth-round draft pick, only played in the NFL for three seasons, but at one point, he was viewed as one of the best tight ends in the league. His best season came in 2011 when he had a career-high 79 receptions for 910 yards and seven touchdowns.
It was a nightmare for defenses to deal with both Gronkowski and Hernandez on the field at the same time. They formed the greatest tight end duo in NFL history.
That run was ultimately short-lived with Hernandez being arrested and convicted for the murder of Odin Lloyd.
