James Martin's two-ingredient breakfast he eats every day after three stone weight loss
Celebrity chef James Martin has shed three stone after making some major changes to his diet - but he's not given up his favourite food group despite slimming down James Martin, the renowned chef and presenter of ITV's James Martin's Saturday Morning, has revealed his favourite two-ingredient breakfast following his recent three-stone weight loss journey, describing it as "simple and very tasty". Recently he visited Spain for inspiration and compiled some of his favourite regional dishes for a new book, titled 'James Martin's Spanish Adventure'. He shared that the recipes in the his books had been "specifically created" using the ingredients they discovered while travelling. Following his impressive weight loss at the age of 52, Martin observes that fish now accounts for a predominant 80% of his diet, yet he still indulges in his beloved butter. In an interview with Hello!, James disclosed that the dishes in his new book, were "specifically created" from ingredients discovered during his travels. However, it seems his favourite recipe remains a simple dish that anyone can whip up at home using just two basic ingredients, reports Devon Live. James raved about his go-to meal: "Grilled tomatoes on toast. It's very simple and very tasty. And the barbecued leeks with lardons and hazelnuts." On the Spooning with Mark Wogan podcast, James opened up about how his love for motor racing spurred his substantial weight loss, as he found himself "struggle to get out of them". He added: "It comes down to the fact that I race cars, or I still try and race a few cars and I actually struggle to get out of them now. Getting in them, you kind of fall in them, but then you've got to get out of them and it just doesn't look very good." However, the celebrity chef continues to indulge in one of his favourite ingredients - butter. The celebrated TV personality and author has famously dedicated a 517-page book to the rich ingredient titled 'Butter: Comforting, Delicious, Versatile - Over 130 Recipes Celebrating Butter'. James humorously remarked about the time when health-conscious cookbooks were all the rage, saying he "brought out a book on butter" instead. James puts down his weight loss not to laborious gym sessions but to his background as a "farmer's kid", acknowledging his love for "simple food" and "great ingredients". He openly admits to avoiding the gym, candidly saying, "I don't go", and humorously uses his ability to "get my a**e in and out of a car" as a fitness barometer. James said: "I'm a farmer's kid, I like pure food, I like simple food and just love great ingredients. I like simple cooking, but also bringing out the flavour of the ingredients is more important than anything else." With a portfolio of restaurants and bakeries under his belt, James honed his trade from home cooks and further refined his craft in France, later gracing our screens with his participation in various BBC and ITV cooking programs.
