A man stopped into a convenience store at a Florida gas station and bought a $10 scratch-off lottery ticket. Then he hit the jackpot. Joel Roman won a $2 million top prize in the $2,000,000 100X Cashword game, the Florida Lottery announced April 16. Roman, of Hillsborough County, bought his ticket at a local Sunoco Food Mart in Ruskin, officials said. He beat the 1-in-3,792,743 odds to win one of eight top prizes of $2 million in the game, which now has no more top prizes left. The 42-year-old headed up to Florida Lottery headquarters in Tallahassee to claim his windfall as a lump sum of $1,280,000. The Sunoco received a $4,000 bonus for selling the lucky ticket, lottery officials said. Ruskin is about a 20-mile drive south from downtown Tampa.

Lary Pincince won a top prize of $2 million with a ticket in the $2,000,000 100X Cashword game, which he bought at the Publix Super Market at Trailwinds Village in Wildwood, the Florida Lottery announced April 10. He beat the 1-in-3,792,743 odds of winning one of eight jackpot prizes of $2 million, according to Florida Lottery officials. All the top prizes in the game, which debuted in December 2023, have now been claimed, records show. The 65-year-old resident of The Villages, a 55+ community northwest of Orlando, claimed his prize at Florida Lottery headquarters in Tallahassee, choosing a one-time payout of $1,280,000, lottery officials said. The Publix in Sumter County received $4,000 for selling the lucky ticket.

D'Allessandro, a karate instructor, opted to receive his winnings as a one-time payment of $650,000 before taxes. He bought this prize ticket in Shrewsbury at Edgemere Mini Mart. The store received a bonus of $10,000 for its sale of the ticket. Last Friday, trustee Natalie Logan received two prizes on behalf of lucky winners who chose to claim their winnings through Quincy trusts. A $2,500 a week for life prize was won in the new '$2,500 a Week for Life' $10 instant ticket game. The JANLC Trust of Quincy received the prize as a one-time payment of $2,000,000 before taxes. Logan said that the winner plans to use these winnings to 'help make the world a better place, especially for their dog.' The ticket, which first went on sale on February 18, was purchased at Winners Corner in North Andover. The store received a bonus of $26,000 for selling the ticket. A ticket in the '$10,000,000 Bonanza' game resulted in one player receiving $1 million. The Bumbalina Trust of Quincy opted to claim the prize as a one-time payment of $650,000 before taxes. The winner shared via Logan that they will use their winnings to 'support their family and grandchildren.'
