As a result, she used to regularly visit Sudbury, which was half an hour away, to do her shopping. Nick Jonas and Priyanka Chopra get trolled online for their Met Gala outfits

Nick Jonas and Priyanka Chopra returned to the Met Gala on Monday, though they were trolled by several fans for their unique looks. The 2025 Met Gala theme was Superfine: Tailoring Black Style, inspired by the 2009 Monica Miller book Slaves to Fashion: Black Dandyism and the Styling of Black Diasporic Identity and coinciding with the Met's upcoming exhibit on Black fashion. Jonas, 32, and Chopra, 42, hit the red carpet in coordinated black and white looks, with Jonas decked out in Bianca Saunders and his wife in Balmain. However, fans noticed that Chopra's look was quite reminiscent of Bette Midler's attire in the 1988 film Big Business. Chopra's white ensemble with black polka dots was quite similar to Midler's ensemble in the movie, which Jonas opted for a cream colored turtleneck and scarf with black pants. While there were fans that admired their looks on social media, many trolled the happy couple, with some also comparing Priyanka's look to Cruella de Vil and Carmen Sandiego. One X user - @PhillyHj - shared an image of the Jonas' and Bette Midler from Big Business, adding, 'So Nick Jonas went as a preppy bull rider? Then Priyanka Chopra went as Bette Midler in Big Business for the "Superfine: Tailoring Black Style" dandyism theme?' Even Harper's Bazaar threw some subtle shade at the couple, tweeting, 'Nick Jonas found shade under Priyanka Chopra's massive hat at the 2025 Met Gala.' X user @consthepsychic said, 'Nick Jonas flop of the year,' while @oobleejay added, 'Nick Jonas. I don't get it lol.' Another X user - @TyTroncoso - joked, 'Nick Jonas and Priyanka Chopra attend his high school reunion #MetGala.' Others like X user - @ohkeilaknows - said, 'Priyanka's outfit is kinda giving Cruella and I love it.' Still, there were others on Instagram who were not as impressed, including @factz0ria, who simply said, 'Okay ummm,' in response to their looks. Another IG user dubbed @tractorfan1997 said, 'It's giving Carmen Sandiego meets 101 Dalmatians,' referring to Priyanka's look. Christiane Hackl added in an Instagram comment, 'What a joke! Her hat was so big, he couldn't even stand next to her.' Another IG user dubbed @tractorfan1997 said, 'It's giving Carmen Sandiego meets 101 Dalmatians,' referring to Priyanka's look. Jonas recently made return to Broadway in The Last Five Years, where he stars alongside Adrienne Warren. The play follows the five-year relationship between Jamie Wellerstein (Jonas), a rising novelist, and Cathy Hiatt (Warren), a struggling actress. The play was written by Jason Robert Brown and was adapted into a film in 2014 starring Anna Kendrick and Jeremy Jordan.
