USA TODAY's 10BEST declares this southeast beach the best in Florida. Do you agree?
Need ideas for your summer weekend trips? How about relaxing on some of the top beaches in the state. USA TODAY's 10BEST released its winners for its "Readers' Choice Awards," including its ranking of the best beaches in Florida. The beaches were selected by a panel of travel experts and the final nominations were voted on by readers. "From the Atlantic Ocean to the Gulf Coast, the Sunshine State boasts 825 miles of beaches, many of which are ranked among the best on the planet," 10BEST writes. "And an average of 230 days of sunshine a year make Florida's shoreline hard to resist for vacationers looking for sun, sand, and sea." Readers have officially declared it — Delray Beach is the best in the state. Housed in Palm Beach County, it is a popular tourist destination with boutique shops and restaurants. "Nestled between Fort Lauderdale and Palm Beach, Delray Beach, known as the 'Village by the Sea,' boasts a serene coastline with crystal-clear blue waters just steps from its vibrant downtown. With 2 miles of pristine sand and natural dunes, the beach was gifted to the city in the 1800s to ensure year-round public access," 10BEST writes. It also notes Delray Beach is one of just two beaches in the U.S. to earn the prestigious Blue Flag award. Dollywood's Splash Country has a few new awards to start its 25th season! The water park, along with others in Tennessee, received 2025 USA TODAY 10BEST Readers' Choice Awards recognition in several water park categories. Splash Country, which opens May 10 for the season, made the cut in three categories. And Soaky Mountain is among the best outdoor water parks in the country. Tidal Track Wave Pool at SoundWaves at Gaylord Opryland Resort in Nashville also received praise, coming in at No. 9 on the best wave pool list. USA TODAY 10BEST Readers' Choice Awards just released its public space rankings, and one riverwalk in Rhode Island ranked among the best in the country. The annual 10BEST awards highlight the best in travel, food and lifestyle, and winners are chosen by a public voting poll after being nominated by industry experts. In the public spaces awards, highlighting the top parks, playgrounds, trails and more from across the country, The Providence Riverwalk ranked ninth in the best riverwalk category. Here's what to know about the top-rated riverwalk in Rhode Island. The Providence Riverwalk is a scenic nature walk stretching for 2.4 miles along the Providence River waterfront, from Point Street Bridge to the Waterplace Park basin. Along with aesthetic scenes of downtown Providence's nature and skyline, the Riverwalk offers views of historic sites like Memorial Park and the spot of the original Union Station. The Riverwalk is also loaded with public art pieces, shops and restaurants, from casual cafes to high-end seafood restaurants. During the summer months, the Providence Riverwalk becomes a hub for outdoor entertainment. USA TODAY recommends kayaking through the river with Providence Kayak, riding in an authentic Venetian gondola through La Gondola Providence or stopping to watch lights and fire burst through the river in a WaterFire show. Looking forward to summer nights on the boardwalk? Connecticut may have the perfect one for you. USA TODAY 10BEST Readers' Choice Awards just released its public space rankings, and one boardwalk in Connecticut ranked among the best in the country. The annual 10BEST awards highlight the best in travel, food and lifestyle, and winners are chosen by a public voting poll after being nominated by industry experts. In the public spaces awards, highlighting the top parks, playgrounds, trails and more from across the country, the Ocean Beach Park Boardwalk in New London ranked second for best boardwalk. Here's what to know about the state's top-rated boardwalk. Located at the end of Ocean Avenue in New London, Ocean Beach Park is a half-mile white sand beach overlooking Long Island Sound. According to USA TODAY, the beach's boardwalk is a "New England gem" which "combines classic boardwalk charm with modern amenities." Boardwalk activities at Ocean Beach Park include an arcade, a playground, a gift shop, mini golf, a triple water slide, a spray park and an Olympic-size swimming pool. Those looking to get away from the water can enjoy a walk on the park's nature trail, overlooking the beautiful Alewife Cove. Beachgoers can also enjoy a variety of classic boardwalk rides, including the spinning Scrambler, the dizzying Octopus and an old-school carousel. The boardwalk also frequently hosts special events, such as music concerts and firework shows. Worked up an appetite from a busy day on the boardwalk? Ocean Beach has multiple casual dining options with spectacular views of the ocean, including the Sandbar Cafe, the Boardwalk Galley and for a sweet summer treat, the Boardwalk Creamery. Ocean Beach Park is open from 8 a.m. to 10 p.m. daily, with parking costing $30 on weekdays or $40 on weekends and holidays. Certain attractions on the boardwalk may have additional costs.
