Egypt's First Lady Pays Tribute to Martyrs on Anniversary of 10th of Ramadan victory
CAIRO – 11 March 2025: Egypt's First Lady Entissar El Sisi paid tribute to the Egyptian martyrs whom were killed during the 1973 War between Egypt and Israel, which occurred on the 10th of Ramadan. 'On the 10th of Ramadan, Egypt's heroes inscribed an eternal epic. They fought the battle with faith and steadfastness while fasting, and their sacrifices were crowned with victory. A profound salute of pride and honor to those who forged glory,' the First Lady said. Also, President Abdel Fattah El Sisi greeted the Egyptians and the Armed Forces on the victory of the 10th or Ramadan, or the 1973 war between Egypt and Israel. 'On the anniversary of the glorious 10th of Ramadan victory, we draw inspiration from the heroism of our armed forces, embodying the spirit of determination, planning, and resolve to reclaim rights and hold onto them. This adds a brilliant page to the records of our national history,' said President Sisi. 'This great day reminds us of its profound meaning; symbolized in the resilience of the Egyptian people and their ability to repel aggression and restore rights to their homeland, regardless of the challenges,' he added. The President added: 'We affirm Egypt's commitment to peace based on justice, believing that peace is the path to achieving stability and development for all the peoples of the region.' 'A tribute to everyone who made this great victory, and to the Egyptian people, who continue the journey of building with unwavering determination and pride befitting an ancient nation, with which history began and with whom the future continues,' the President said. Every year, Egypt celebrates the anniversary of the victory of Ramadan 10, 1393 AH, or the October 1973 Victory, commemorating the war in which the Egyptian army defeated the Israeli enemy, and regained Sinai, after it had been occupied for 6 years. On Ramadan 10 at 2 p.m., the Egyptian army crossed the canal line. Waves of the Egyptian army began to gradually cross in very elaborate and highly prepared work system. It surprised everyone at the time, as at exactly 2 p.m. in Ramadan 10, 1973, more than 200 Egyptian warplanes carried out an air strike on Israeli targets in the eastern bank of the canal.
