LRT-1 to give free rides on Independence Day
Passengers of Light Rail Transit 1 (LRT-1) will get free rides on June 12 in celebration of the 127th Independence Day. In a statement, LRT-1 said the free rides will be available from 7 a.m. to 9 a.m. and 5 p.m. to 7 p.m. in all of its stations. It added that LRT-1 will still have a regular operating schedule on June 12. The first train from Dr. Santos and Fernando Poe Jr. Stations will leave at 5 a.m. The last trip from Dr. Santos Station will be at 9:30 p.m. and 9:45 p.m. from Fernando Poe Jr. Station. Earlier, MRT-3 and LRT-2 announced that they will also offer free rides on June 12 during the same timeframe. MRT-3 offers free rides on Independence Day
Free rides will be given to passengers in Metro Rail Transit Line 3 (MRT-3) on June 12 in celebration of the 127th Independence Day. In a statement, MRT-3 said the free rides will be available from 7 a.m. to 9 a.m. and 5 p.m. hanggang 7 p.m. in all of the train stations. 'Ito ay alinsunod sa utos ni Pangulong Ferdinand "Bongbong" Marcos Jr. na maghandog ng mga inisyatibong naglalayong mapagaan ang gastusin sa transportasyon at mapalaganap ang pagpapahalaga sa mahahalagang pambansang okasyon,' MRT-3 said. (This is in accordance with the directive of President Ferdinand "Bongbong" Marcos Jr. to offer initiatives aimed at easing transportation costs and promoting appreciation for important national occasions.)
