Iraq: Security services rely on military manufacturing production
The spokesman for the Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces, Sabah Al-Numan, confirmed on Saturday that 65 local companies participated in the 13th Security and Defense Exhibition.
"The security services rely on military manufacturing production, which has provided significant financial liquidity to the state treasury," said Al-Numan on the sidelines of the opening of the 13th Security, Defense, Military Industries and Cybersecurity Exhibition, to the Iraqi News Agency - INA.
He noted that "the 13th edition of the Security, Defense, Military Industries and Cybersecurity Exhibition is being held under the patronage of the Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces and PM Muhammed S. Al-Sudani. This year, it is witnessing a distinguished presence from foreign companies, participating countries, and diplomatic missions."
"There is a distinguished and strong presence from the Iraqi Military Industrialization Commission, with approximately 65 local companies participating," he added, pointing out, "the approach of the Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces and the Iraqi government is to integrate military manufacturing and supply security forces and agencies with local military products, including equipment, light and medium weapons."
Al-Numan highlighted that "military manufacturing has made great strides during the tenure of this government. Today, the security agencies, including the Ministries of Defense and Interior, rely heavily on the production of the Military Industrialization Commission."
"Military manufacturing production has contributed to providing significant financial liquidity to the state treasury, after these weapons and equipment, of various standards and types, were previously imported from abroad," he emphasized, adding that "today, with full confidence and the integration of local industries, including agricultural and industrial equipment. We are proud that military manufacturing plays a very significant role in supporting the security establishment with all the equipment it needs, according to the tasks and nature of the various security agencies."
The 13th Security, Defense, Military Industries and Cybersecurity Exhibition kicked off on Staurday in Baghdad, with the participation of 112 companies.
