Classy Man City star anonymously donates £4,200 towards Man City fans' Kevin De Bruyne FA Cup final display

MANCHESTER City fans were given a multi-thousand pound donation towards their Kevin De Bruyne display at Saturday's FA Cup final. The donor who gave £4,200 towards their £11,000+ pot has been revealed to be their very own Erling Haaland. 2 2 City announced in April that their star playmaker De Bruyne will leave at the end of this season after ten years of glittering service. The midfielder was the beating heart of a side that won six Premier League titles and the club's first Champions League. As Manchester City have endured a disappointing league campaign, by their standards, the FA Cup final is his final opportunity to lift a trophy in sky blue. Haaland, whose father also played for Manchester City, did some financial heavy lifting in secret to help the fans honour the Belgian with banners before the final. He said this week ahead of the Wembley clash: "It's been a pleasure to play with him. "Hopefully in the last couple of games we're going to have a really good time. "We clicked straight away from the first second and it's going to be emotional when a good friend leaves. Maybe the best player ever to play for City – one of the best to play in the Premier League as well." His donation made up 84% of the fan group 1894's original £5000 target. The group nearly hit £12,000 in one day from 360 donations. De Bruyne's final home game is against Bournemouth on Tuesday night as they pursue a Champions League spot for next season.

Manchester City fan groups write open letter to Pep Guardiola over ticket prices

Manchester City supporters' groups have written to the club's manager Pep Guardiola over season-ticket availability and matchday ticket pricing. The letter from fan groups 1894, MCFC Food Bank Support, Solid Citizens and Trade Union Blues congratulates Guardiola on guiding the team to the FA Cup final after a 2-0 semi-final win over Nottingham Forest on Sunday and asks him for a 'favour', urging him to speak with the club's CEO Ferran Soriano. Advertisement 'Pep, congratulations on leading us to another Wembley final,' the letter reads. 'Before the Forest game you said you understood the fact that fans are facing economic pressures. We are glad you recognise this and you have said that you prefer the fanbase to be alive and not passive. 'With this in mind we ask you for one more favour. 'Your friends at the club have done many good things. Can you ask them to do one more good thing. Can you speak with your good friend, club CEO Ferran Soriano. 'The stadium is growing by 8,000 next season and the fans want the club to bring back some real season tickets so that the generational links can be protected. The amount of season ticket holders in the stadium has been shrinking. When fans cannot attend games the club then cannot resell those tickets because they are priced too high. 'We want the same things as you. A powerful club, with a loud atmosphere in the stadium. The North Stand redevelopment is a chance to make that happen. However, you will not get the atmosphere you crave if the club do not think again.' City fans have staged several protests against the club this year, notably when thousands of supporters stayed in the Etihad Stadium concourse for the first nine minutes of the 2-0 win against Leicester City on April 2. Eight days later, City announced they had frozen season-ticket prices for the 2025-26 campaign, the first time in a decade that such a step had been taken. Loukas Gregory of the 1894 fan group described the freeze as the 'absolute minimum'. The club have scheduled meetings with other fan groups this week and will discuss issues such as season-ticket availability. City, fourth in the Premier League table, return to action on Friday evening when they host Wolverhampton Wanderers. ()

Manchester City fans protest against ticket issues before Leicester game

Hundreds of Manchester City fans missed the start of Wednesday's game against Leicester as they staged a protest over ticketing issues. Three supporters groups had urged fellow fans to remain on the concourses at the Etihad Stadium for the first nine minutes of the Premier League clash amid growing disquiet over a number of matters. The call for action from 1894, Trade Union Blues and MCFC Fans Foodbank was prompted when the club announced an agreement with a ninth ticket resale partner in Viagogo last week. Although the Viagogo deal specifically relates to hospitality tickets, there has been concern among supporters these link-ups lead to tickets being resold at over-inflated prices or falling into the hands of away fans. There were noticeable pockets of empty seats around the stadium as the game got under way, particularly in the South Stand. Those yet to take up their seats missed Jack Grealish open the scoring for the champions after two minutes. A group of City fans also gathered before the game outside the ground where they stood behind a banner reading 'MCFC For The Love Not The Money'. Dante Friend of 1894, one the groups behind the protest, told the PA news agency: 'We urge the club to engage properly with fans on ticketing issues. 'They know what the issues are and they need to give something back to the fans. We've backed the club over the charges, we'd like them to back us over the prices.' City have not commented directly on the demonstration but manager Pep Guardiola backed the fans' right to protest prior to the game. He said: 'I don't know specifically (this issue) but football clubs belong to the people and if the people don't agree with something they can legitimately express concerns with the club.'
